Chapter Text
Travis was sat on the couch, looking concerned. Nat lay herself down, and curled up beside him.
“I think it’s over.” She uttered weakly.
“Oh.” Then, for the 3rd time that day: “Are you okay?”
“Yeah.” She sniffled. “I dunno.”
Sheepishly, he moved himself carefully until he was laying behind her. Slowly, as if asking for permission, he placed his hands around her, until they reached her chest. Natalie placed her hands over his, ensuring he could feel her heartbeat. It reminded her of something they had done on one of the worst days of her life. Both times it had been a symbol of their love though, and that helped her to forget. She was sweaty and completely disgusting but she was so drained that she didn’t feel the need to do anything about it now.
“Can you stay the night?”
She thought back to the time she had begged him to stay with her in that cabin.
“I think that I might- I just want you to stay.”
That time, his response was a teary eyed: “Yeah. Okay.”
She hoped that this time it would be the same.
By 10pm, they were asleep on that couch. They weren’t meant to be parents, at least not yet, but Natalie felt comfortable like this. She felt loved. Maybe they were meant to be together.
Maybe a long-term relationship was possible.
