Chapter Text

North had always thought heaven’s system was stupid, but he knew better than to open his mouth about it. One of the dumbest things, North thought, was the fact that the only thing that stopped angels from going to Earth was the flip of a coin. Sure it wasn’t just any old coin, it was a “Heavenly Spade” as they called it. Even so, it didn’t take North Korea long to steal one.

The first time North went to Earth was in August of last year. Before then he had no interest whatsoever in the heap of dirt called “Earth”. But upon going there he had a sudden change of heart. And no, it was not that Earth’s beauty had made him come too, in fact it wasn’t even the planet itself that made him change, it was more so a “someone”. And that someone just so happened to be a human; China. Now, North Korea always found love stupid, but something about the way the Chinese man's long black hair flowed, and how he always seemed to have a sense of dignity about him struck North down funny. Of course, North didn’t like guys, he didn’t like anyone for that matter; but he considered China an exception.

So as North stood next to his brother and the Russian he felt a wave of giddy come over him. He always felt like this before going to earth, and he hadn’t the foggiest clue why.

“Alright, you all seem ready enough!” EU said, walking up to the trio. The European Union stopped in front of Russia and passed him a coin.

“You know how to use this, yes?” Russia nodded, “Great, I’ll leave you to it then!” The EU smiled before leaving the room.

“...So…Um…Are you two ready?” Russia asked North and South. The brothers nodded and grabbed the sides of Russia’s shoulders. North took a deep breath as the coin flipped; a bright light flashed, and then they were surrounded by trees.

North Korea immediately let Russia’s shoulder go and began to walk away from the two angels.

“Where do you think you're going?” South asked his brother who was already many feet ahead of them.

“Anywhere away from you buffoons!” North replied snottily back to South. Then North began to run. It didn’t take him long to get away from them. After all, the forest was thick and almost impossible to navigate if you had never been there before. He grinned as he snapped his fingers, hiding his halo and wings. He was going to see China.

PART 2 ☆ ☆ ☆

Mexico ran to the nearby alleyway, her wings hidden under her coat. Mexico wasn't an angel, but she wasn't human either. She was a mix, meaning that she, despite not being an angel, had wings. But the main thing that made angel’s angels was their halo, for that was their source of power. She, like humans, was basically powerless because she couldn’t even use her wings outside, because it “scared” people.

She kept walking until she was at the back of the alley where a small door hid in plane sight, unnoticeable to the naked eye. She carefully slipped out her card and slid it into a card slot on the left side of the door. It was not a moment later that she heard a click come from inside the building. She pushed the door handle before swiftly going inside, making sure to not be noticed by anyone.

Bright neon lights flickered as half naked dancers swung around poles. This was one of the few places where no one cared whether you were a human, an angel or a mix; and it was all Mexico's. The dancers, the alcohol, the money; all of it.

“Hey boss!”Estonia flew over to her, “You're here early.” Mexico smiled in response. Estonia was one of the very few angels that worked at the club. It was rare for angels to work at a place like this let alone go to Earth.

“Esty!” Called Finland who was not too far away, “Stop bothering the boss and go change into your outfit!” Estonia smiled at Finland, nodding.

“Alright, see you later!” She said to Mexico before bolting off to wherever Finland was.

“Yeah, see ya.” Mexico called back before she went to sit down at a table, watching the dancers as she waited for a certain Chinese man.

PART 3 ☆ ☆ ☆

China walked with North Korea, side by side, into the club. The last time he was there he and North got into a big fight; of course they ended up making out by the end of the night and apologizing. They had always had a weird relationship. Mostly because they fought more than an old married couple whose kids left for college. It was always about silly things like who was going to pay the bill, or North needing to hide his wings in public. Actually, no, that was a big thing. North needed to learn to hide his wings more often.

China loved North Korea’s wings, they were the only elegant thing about North. But it didn’t matter how much China liked them. China was a human. North was an angel. And as long as they existed their relationship would be an issue. Yet for some reason, no matter how dangerous it was; neither of them wanted to break it off.

“China, North Korea,” Mexico said, greeting the couple. She was sitting on a black leather couch with a round table in front, legs crossed.

“Ah, good evening Mexico,” China replied with a slightly cocky grin, “Life treating you well I hope?”

The latina shrugged, “Could be worse; I will say though, I didn’t think I’d see North today; I thought he was going to visit next month.”

“I got lucky.” North said as he and China sat down on the other side of the couch. The couch was quite comfortable with its smooth leather and surprisingly bouncy cushioned seating. China grinned to himself as he watched Mexico and North begin discussing what had changed while North was gone. After a short while he joined in as well; and the three friends chattered among themselves for hours.

Notes:

Author's notes:

Hey guys, it’s been awhile (like half a year). Sorry this took forever, I've been busy and have been doing a lot of procrastinating lately. A lot has changed too, but here's a short version of what’s happened.

Highschool
Joining the Gravity Falls fandom
Getting a haircut (this month actually!)
Getting grounded like 1,000 times
Being in a play
Art + animations
Fixing the cover for this book

Those are just some of them. Anyway, I'm auditioning for a musical this week (1/12 - 1/18/25). When I post this though, it’s likely I'll already have a part (as an actor or backstage). Anyways, hope you all are doing well. :)

– Have a good day/night,
Bacon S
