Chapter Text

Children are not meant to be experiments. And yet, why is she going through this?

A young girl is in a room with white pads all around her. It felt like an asylum, but it isn’t. It’s a bedroom. A bedroom with just a mattress for a bed. No blanket, no pillow, not even a stuffed toy? Such a terrible fate for a mere child to go through. Though, it’s not like every child has a stuffed toy right? The girl doesn’t even know what that is.

The young girl was quite the peculiar one. She really isn’t like “any other girls”. She’s no Mary Sue or some sad orphan who is secretly the chosen one. Her hair was strange. The roots were yellow then as you reach the middle, the yellow will fade into pink. The girl also had heterochromia. Her left eye was the same pink colour and the right the same yellow colour. Her pupils were… White? It was a star with many pointed intersecting sides. The strangest part about that girl was her ears. It wasn’t where you would typically think it is. It was on the top of her head, they were rabbit ears.

The aim of the scientists were too much for a child to endure. After achieving the creation of hybrid animals, their new goal was hybrid humans. To be specific, humans and wild animals. They studied the abilities the child could have depending on each animal. In the case of the girl, it was a rabbit. The scientist then go through ‘trials’ to see if there were any enhancements to the child’s abilities, or any changes in the physical appearance. The girl still looked the same except for her rabbit ears and tail.

If the child tried to disobey the scientist, they get shocked. If they get caught playing instead of training studying, they get shocked. If there weren’t any useful updates during trials, they get shocked. Afterwards, they will inject needles into them, needles filled with chemicals that hurt the children. If there is anything new, the scientists will reward them with candy! And then, injections. The children trapped alongside our young protagonist felt like they couldn’t do anything. The only form of entertainment the girls had was embroidery. It doesn’t sound so bad, but imagine having to do that for your whole life while anxiously anticipating when your next trial is? It’s even worse for the children who developed paws. they couldn’t do anything as they found it difficult to embroider with anthropomorphic hands.

The girl just finished an embroidery of a stretched out bird. She had saw its shadow in the morning and thought that birds were large and strangely outstretched. She tried to stitch her desired name as a signature. She got the name from a Japanese book she couldn’t read, Ayano. Ayano asked another Japanese girl to help translate the girl, but they were only able to translate the name of the main character before being separate from the scientists.

Suddenly, the padded door opened. Ayano jumped. No… Not today. They couldn’t… right? They just tested her yesterday, they can’t test her today again! An older male scientist entered the room, clipboard in hand. Ayano’s eyes was filled with dread. They already injected 20 needles into her skin! The puncture wounds have yet to heal! Was this really happening?

“20170316, it’s time for your next trial.”

Notes:

I got a new keyboard so I decided to test it out

Why is the word heterochromia red-outlined.

Ayano’s design is inspired by my 2017 Gacha OC ahahahhahahaha. She was kinda based by Fluttershy cause she was my favourite mlp character at the time. Also yes, I said 2017. I was there when there was not such thing as Gacha Life and it was still Gacha World or Gachaverse :( I tried to describe Ayano’s appearance the best I could try to with my limited writing abilities.

Ayano’s original name was TOTALLY not Flutterpie HAHHAHAHHA. I didn’t ship Pinkie and Fluttershy guys. I didn’t even know what the term ‘ship’ or ‘lgbtq+’ was at the time.
