Chapter Text

After Ginger, The local medic, treats Eggson, he returns safely back to the main hall and hears a commotion going on, and asks Bassie what was going on.

“ ‘Ey Bassie, you know what's goin’ on?” Bassie looks up at Eggson, fiddling with her fingers

“O-Oh uhh… Glisten is fighting Cosmo over him apparently stealing his boyfriend and that Boxten and him were ‘on break’…” Cocoa taps Bassie’s shoulder and they walk off to the storage zone for who knows what.

“He was mine! And you just decided to take him even when I was perfect for him!” Glisten’s makeup was messing itself up as tears flowed down his cheeks.

“It’s not my fault that he decided to date me instead! And plus, he said it himself that he felt like he was being used!” Cosmo was standing in front of Boxten defensively, even if Boxten was a foot or two taller than him.

“Well I’m trying to improve!-“

“IMPROVE WHAT HUH? ALL I SEE IS A NARCISSISTIC BITCH WHO DOESN’T-“

“WELL ALL I SEE IS SOMEONE WHO GOT IGNORED IN HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS BEST FRIEND AND A GUY YOU BARELY KNOW. SO AT LEAST I SOMEWHAT CARED ABOUT BOXTEN.” Cosmo went silent. He couldn’t say anything else he looked like he was about to cry.

“Hah… I bet the only reason you’re dating Boxten is so you can care for someone… but I bet he’s unsatisfied…” Glisten points at Boxten. Before Glisten could continue, Eggson glanced over at Dyle’s shop, which had no Dyle to be seen, so Eggson wandered around, his legs working good as new, so he ran around the entirety of the main lobby and toon rooms, before walking into the library and finding Brightney and scraps giggling in one of the small nooks, finally finding Dyle browsing fantasy books, specifically picking out one that had unicorns.

“Is that… A children’s book?” Dyle froze and shoved the book back into its slot, blushing profusely and waving hi to Eggson. ‘What a guy…’ Eggson thought, waving back and walking up to Dyle.

“I never took you as the type who liked fantasy there, Dyle.” Dyle frowned a little.

“Yeah well, I uhhh… I need a book for Toodles tomorrow..?”

“I’m babysitting her tomorrow??” Dyle started blushing even more.

“Uh- Well I- ummm… W-Well I don’t necessarily like the genre, just the uh…” Dyle looked at the book and Eggson grabbed it.

“ ‘The adventures of the unicorn princess and her friends’… So you like horses?”

“N-NO-“

“I like em too, remember having a lil horse prop for the show, one of my fans even carved me a little wooden horse sculpture…”

“W-Well, they’re better than snakes I suppose…”

“Eugh… Snakes are terrible, they just wriggle around’n’shit…” Dyle smiled, and grabbed the book from Eggson’s hands, putting it in a bag he had, walking off.

That night in bed, Dyle was reading one of the horse books he’s acquired earlier, admiring how free they looked running around, wishing the same for himself. While he read, Eggson was getting ready for bed, Dyle not leaving his head. Now, even though Eggson viewed himself as someone with no standards, men have always caught his eye, but he never thought about it too much, but remembering Dyle more more had Eggson blushing, as well as remembering Dyle’s thin waist, his chains, and how he could tie himself up, his thoughts progressively getting ‘worse’ and ‘worse’.

After that Eggson blushed a little more, and he realized how much he really cared about Dyle, and how he really liked his quiet company.

‘Guess I’m one of em Queers now.’ Was the first thought that came into Eggson’s mind that night in his bed, a particular clock appearing in his thoughts and his dreams…
