Chapter Text
Today Tsukasa woke up with a good feeling! He woke up an hour before Saki did, got himself ready, did his skincare routine, and made breakfast and lunch for both himself and Saki (the latter being really thankful for the food), so he went to school in a good mood! He went to school early to not miss his perfect attendance record by any mishap (the mishap being getting wrapped up with Rui's weird shenanigans), but he still waited by the gate for Rui and Nene to come. See, since the two were neighbors, they usually came to school together, although there are days when they come separately because one of them slept in, or they just forgot they had a neighbor/friend. Sometimes he encountered them both, or only one of them; it seems this time they came together because he hears them talking from afar, but that's when he sees them... holding hands...
Tsukasa is utterly fucked; he's feeling something he hasn't felt in a long time, something more ugly than jealousy, something more aggressive than anything. He likes to call them "the stupid urges" because that's exactly what they are. Meanwhile, Rui and Nene are near the gates when they notice Tsukasa looking at them. Rui immediately lets go of Nene's hand when he spots Tsukasa and waves at him. Tsukasa forces himself to have his usual bright smile and waves back. Nene just looks at both of them and waves slightly. When they finally reach Tsukasa, conversation starts.
"Good morning, Tsukasa-kun," Rui said quite enthusiastically.
"Good morning too, Tsukasa," Nene also said while the only thought in her head when she saw those two was "gays."
"Good morning, Rui and Nene!" Tsukasa said, trying to keep his star persona; he didn't want his friends to know the disgusting side of him that screamed at him to attack.
"Well, I'm going to class; see you two weirdos around," Nene said, which translates to: I'm going to play video games far away from you guys until class starts.
"SEE YA NENEEEEE!" Tsukasa shouted really enthusiastically, already forgetting the horrible urges he had just minutes ago. Meanwhile, Nene was trying to get as far as possible from them so people don't look at her weird.
Tsukasa just stared at Rui while he was distracted. He admired all his features: his narrow gold eyes, his catlike smile, his purple hair with two cyan streaks, his rough and calloused hands from making robots, his— "Earth to Tsukasa-kun~."
"AH!" Tsukasa yelped because Rui just scared the living shit out of him. "Um— Sorry, Rui, I just zoned out a bit," he said, trying to make a believable excuse about why he was suddenly staring at him so intently with no apparent reason. Meanwhile, Rui wondered why Tsukasa would zone out just like that. "Tsukasa-kun, did you sleep well?" Rui asked with a worried expression on his face, fearing that Tsukasa might've not slept due to practicing his role like what happened with the role of Rio.
Tsukasa noticed the worried tone and expression on Rui's face and tried to reassure him. "Ha, shan't worry, my dear director, for I, Tsukasa Tenma, have slept my eight hours; a star such as myself needs his beauty sleep," Tsukasa reassured. "I should be asking that to YOU, Rui; I already know your tendency of sleeping late at night or not sleeping at all!" Tsukasa retorted. Rui chuckled with that characteristic cat smile of his, "I may or may not have slept only an hour."
"WHAAAAAAT? Seriously, Rui, how are you even standing now? I know you cover your eye bags with makeup, but you can get disoriented with that little sleep you have," Tsukasa said in a stern tone, like a mother scolding her child. "I understand your worry, Tsukasa-kun, but I was making a new stage light that works like a projector would, so that we can have more options for backgrounds on our shows," Rui explained, trying to get away with the fact that he didn't sleep a bit. Tsukasa, meanwhile, just scolded him more. "Stage light or not, we can't have our director with drowsiness during practice, and I certainly don't want you to sleep during class," Tsukasa scolded with a stern yet worried tone.
"Don't worry, Tsukasa-kun; I am totally fine, and I already know everything the teachers are talking about. As long as I get good grades, they won't care if I doze off or not," Rui reassured. "And to answer your question, Nene was holding my hand the whole trip here so I don't get hit by a truck," Rui stated while also half-joking.
Tsukasa sighed in relief because Rui and Nene were not a couple, but at the same time, the jealousy didn't go away; it stuck to him all day, and he just couldn't shake it off. He went to the wonder stage first, or so he thought, because a pink creature known as Emu Otori tackled him from behind to, apparently, give him a hug, but this was probably the strongest she's given yet, so Tsukasa lost all the oxygen he had in his body and fell to the floor. The first thing he said was very calm; he said, "ARRRGH! EMU. I told you not to tackle me like that!" Tsukasa screamed so loudly that it echoed through the skies. "EHHH, I'M SORRY, TSUKASA-KUN!" Emu apologized as loudly. Just then, Nene appeared waving at them. Emu went sprinting towards her and enveloped her in a much more gentle hug than she did with Tsukasa. He had to admit he was quite jealous because now he had a mild back pain while Nene gets the special treatment. Suddenly, Tsukasa got an idea; while he watched the two girls talk, he realized they probably liked each other. If they got together, the urges would stop; therefore, he got Rui to himself, and Emu and Nene lived their happily ever after with rainbows and unicorns. (For the record, Rui did come to practice, but they had to cancel because Rui was indeed very drowsy.)
For the rest of the week, Tsukasa and Rui (Rui is there because he also wanted to pair the two of them up for particularly the same reason as Tsukasa but obviously didn't tell each other) set Emu and Nene in romantic situations such as putting them as the two protagonists in a love play, setting dates up for them when they never came to hangouts so they could have alone time. Finally, Friday after practice, Emu asked Nene to stay for a moment. Rui and Tsukasa hid behind a bush with Mr. Mascot because that guy was always there! Anyway, Emu took a deep breath and felt more nervous than ever before and said:
"Nene-chan, I, honestly, I have never felt this nervous, but I—I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Emu screamed to the top of her lungs. "These days have been suuuuper wonderful, and—and—" Before she could continue, she saw Nene's red face, and her eyes softened. Then Nene spoke. "Emu, I—I loveyoutoo," Nene said really fast because of her flustered state. Emu jumped to hug her and said how she was "YOU ARE THE MOST WONDERFUL PERSON IN MY LIFEEEEEE, YOU MAKE ME FEEL SO KIRA KIRA AND DOKI DOKI!" Emu continued and continued while Nene just got even more embarrassed.
Meanwhile, Rui and Tsukasa were celebrating silently behind the bush, and Mr. Mascot was just... there, but everything ended smoothly this week!
(Little did anyone know that someone got threatened because they insulted a certain blonde-haired boy, and that pissed off the purple man.)
