Chapter Text
Around six hours later, Sasuke awoke to phosphorescent moonlight, illuminating his bed and lover. He brought his hand closer to Naruto's face, ever so gently, caressing the sleeping Jinchūriki. Minutes passed, and Sasuke started to delicately trace hearts all over his Jinchūriki. “Sasuke?”
The weak voice inscribed in Sasuke's ears, Naruto, stirred awake,”Are you hurting?” Sasuke gently pressed against Naruto's legs, trying to measure the pain,”Does it hurt a lot?” He surveyed Naruto, only to encounter a blooming complexion. “Should I get you some painkillers?” His gesture relayed perverse effects.
A newfangled lewd sound slipped out, and Naruto whimpered from sudden touch. He covered his mouth in pure embarrassment. “I didn't mean to make that sound.” Sasuke raised an eyebrow, remorselessly pushing down harder. “Hey stop it, Sasuke-” Another whimper escaped.
With every passing second, Sasuke's torments became worse,”Round two?” His blush grew a shade darker, Naruto indignantly rolled his eyes. “I know you're exhausted,” Sasuke's eyes travelled all over Naruto's body, noticing all the kiss marks he'd left yesterday,”Maybe I should've listened to you, I won't leave so many marks next time.”
The yellow haired exhaled,“You say that every time.” Naruto pulled Sasuke closer. He could feel Sasuke's heart beat racing,”Can I ask you something pretty boy?” Naruto's blush must've been contagious because Sasuke now also adorned a shade of pink. He attempted to cover his flushed face, forgetting his hands were placed under and around Naruto.
“I'm an open book for you.” He placed a soft kiss on Naruto's cheek,”Ask away Jinchūriki.” Naruto looked up to him joyfully, smiling in return. The kiss soothed his nervousness, along with the past convictions around his particular thoughts. However, hesitation still appeared to be in tow. “Why are you awfully reluctant to ask? This isn't like you, hm?”
“About what you said earlier,” There were so many things I said earlier. Did I say something wrong? Sasuke didn't even know where to start searching for what he apparently said beforehand. “ 'My family would probably kill us.' ” Naruto observed Sasuke with pure heartache,”Did you really mean that?”
Befuddled could only begin to account for half of what Sasuke experienced upon hearing Naruto's question. He wanted to provide an answer for Naruto, but seconds passed, then minutes, and they lay within each other's embrace blanketed by silence. Finally, Sasuke spoke,“They won't kill you.” I'll make sure I'm the only one stained in my own blood.
“Oh. Then why did you say it earlier?” Naruto inferred that they wouldn't die. It happened to be something Sasuke had said,”In the heat of the moment, right?” His blue eyes glistened with residual moonlight,”You said it without meaning.” Those eyes held so much hope that Sasuke couldn't fulfil.
“Yeah. I didn't mean anything by it.” By lying to Naruto, he experienced a pang of guilt. The same guilt from inflicting pain upon oneself rebounded to kick him in the heart. “Naruto, can I ask you something now?” His words congealed into toxic infatuation.
Although Naruto signalled for him to ask without restraint, breath still seized within his chest,”Why do you love me?” What kind of question is that? This felt like a repulsive joke. Naruto pushed him away for the very first time. The action pained him in an aggrieved manner. Nonetheless, Sasuke continued,”Displeasure is written all over you. What's wrong with my question?”
“Sasuke, you're not making any sense! You didn't think to ask before we had sex-” Suddenly, a series of loud caws caught their attention, Naruto and Sasuke quickly exchanged a glance.”Itachi's crows.” Sasuke hummed in acknowledgement. Consequently, the two hurriedly dressed themselves, disregarding their conversation from before.
He headed towards the curtains opening them, and Sasuke followed, opening a window for the crows to come in. Although only one flew in, Sasuke held out his arm, but the crow swirled around Naruto, landing swiftly on his arm, held up at the last minute. “Shisui, have you taken a liking to the Jinchūriki?” Shisui took off again, landing in front of Sasuke's door as if the bird wanted to lead them elsewhere. “Should we go?”
“Since it's Itachi's crow, we should go.” They followed Shisui downstairs. However, not a single sound emitted when they arrived on the ground floor. “Where is everyone?” Sasuke also found such an occurrence suspicious. “Did they go out?”
“No.. they shouldn't have..” Sasuke knew his family all too well. He knew the aftereffects of his family Christmas dinners meant everyone would be slumped in random guest rooms or sharing a bed with a Uchiha friend of their own. “They should all be home.”
Two pairs of eyes scanned the surroundings in confusion,”Let's just follow Shisui for now,” Shisui ended up leading them outside, Sasuke halted. “Outside?” While waiting, he grabbed a Kunai from a nearby shelf and hid it in his own pocket as Naruto finished putting on shoes. “You ready?”
“Can't you see? Of course I'm ready.” Naruto unwittingly understood words for their face value. He stepped outside with Sasuke in tow, shutting the door behind them. Shisui took off, black wings flying triumphantly as Sasuke and Naruto ran to keep up. Approximately thirty minutes went by before Naruto spoke again,”Is Shisui giving us a tour?”
They continued to pursue Shisui, albeit minds occupied. What Naruto said earlier began to massively weigh Sasuke down, Shisui had been taking them to the outskirts of the village only to make them run circles. Sasuke decided to venture off Shisui's trail without warning. Naruto yelled after him, ”Naruto, ignore Shisui.” He called back,”Follow me.”
“What do you mean to ignore Shisui? You do know Itachi will have my head for breakfast if we ignore him.” Sasuke shook his head as Naruto caught up,”Shisui wanted to cleverly distract us.” He corrected himself,”Itachi wanted to distract us.” Naruto raised an eyebrow as if to say, from what? “There's something happening.”
The Jinchūriki appeared to inevitably connect the dots. ”You're right.. your family is gone. The village is awfully quiet.” As if on cue, a blood curdling scream echoed from the village. “An Intruder?” They sprinted towards the village using the trees to gain speed. When the village centre came into view, pure shock encapsulated their expressions.
They couldn't spot a single soul around the streets of Hidden Leaf Village. Their beloved village stood still in silence. “Just where exactly did that scream come from?” The sound of a door opening and closing captured their attention. “Danzo..?” Sasuke tensed. Danzo.. no, that can't be right. Sickeningly, Danzo smiled up at the two proceeding to proudly bow.
“Why don't we have a little talk?” An irrefutable expression plastered across Naruto's face, yeah, I'll talk to a fascist like you when pigs fly. The so-called fascist spoke again. “Aren't we all close? What's some shame in a little talking?” Sasuke didn't have any interest in Danzo's unreasonable requests.
Subsequently, he took out his Kunai, and Danzo chuckled at them with utmost pity. “Where is everyone else?!” Despite wanting to ask when exactly Sasuke had packed that Kunai, he kept the thought to himself and directed curiosity towards Danzo. “Where are they?!”
Ants, they were ants to Danzo. He paid no attention to Naruto's questions,”You two can't possibly defeat me.” His words only incited them,"That blood curdling scream was my doing." The corner of his mouth lifted in cruel grin. "Or should I say it's your beloved teacher's scream?"
