Chapter Text
RoPo.EXE knew he wanted Little Kelly & Little Carly on his side. They were princesses after all. Which is why, after he got Jack back on the dark side, he set his sights on Little Kelly's castle. He really thought it would be a tough one, with all the guards and all. But, in reality, it was almost as if they could just invite themselves in unnoticed. Of course, they weren't unnoticed, as there were a few guards. However, they didn't even put up much of a fight. RoPo and Jack were able to take them out relatively easily.
The problem mostly lies in the puzzle aspect. Locks were on every door, and if it were not for the enhanced smell EXEs have, they would have been screwed. RoPo still got upset, though, mainly because his brain power was zero to none. It's almost as if having your every waking moment filled with rage/annoyance wasn't motivating. Another thing that got on his nerves was Jack's uneasy quietness. RoPo, even if he was infected, was always used to the loud-mouthed idiot that was Jack. Then again, RoPo.EXE would be mad if Jack was talking, he guesses it's a lose-lose situation.
If RoPo.EXE were less arrogant or maybe a little smarter, he would probably be able to figure out that this was all a trap. Minimal security, wasting time, and the lack of noise throughout the castle. Yet, he was almost giddy. He thought that this was too easy, in a jock kind of way. Hell, he even smiled to himself when thinking about infecting the city. Not a pretty one, of course, but a smile nonetheless.
The last room they went in was the crown room. RoPo, being RoPo, made a joke about wearing the crown himself. He felt a little confused as to why Kelly was just standing in a tiny room. I mean, didn't she have a more accustomed hiding place? But, RoPo.EXE didn't spare that another thought. He was excited to be over with all the collecting senanigans, finally, and to finally get a reward. While a reward would be waiting for him, it's probably not what he imagined.
RoPo quickly opened the door via the level 5 keycard he had found in an attic. "Let's get her! Hello, Little Kelly." That was the last thing RoPo.EXE said before he and Jack fell through the floor. They landed in a small nook in the floor that was big enough to hold a couple of gallons of a bright blue liquid. If RoPo had been able to glance at it, he would've said it was just spring water. But, last he recalls, spring water didn't burn your body.
It felt as though they were dropped into a bath of piping hot water. RoPo.EXE hated it. But, in a different way. It brought back memories of the accident. The tub of bright green acid he fell into as a teenager. Sure, it changed his life for good, but he'll never forget the feeling of acid making its way through your skin and into your cells. The memories were unpleasant.
But, there was something else too. It was almost as if he had taken a form of laughing gas. Not a lot, but an ever-so-slight amount to make his body and head feel light. It relieved the traumatic thoughts that flooded his head. As they shook the pain away, they quickly skuried to a small staircase that led out of the small pool. It led back into the main crown room, and it was clear that Little Kelly had fled.
Standing up was disorienting. His balance was thrown off, and he stumbled slightly into the main room. Almost as if he had too little oxygen, he felt as though he was gonna pass out. He tried to shake the dizziness away, but if anything, it only made it worse. Opening his eyes, he had to shield them, as the lights were too bright, which hadn't seemed to be a problem before. The harsh light made tears roll down his face, but only down the left side of his face. It was at that point that Jack.EXE pointed out that one of his eyes was blue.
With his body still burning, and his eyes watering, he tried to put together a coherent thought. Even though EXEs don't normally have coherent thoughts, this was something entirely different. His thoughts were jumbled, almost as if they had been mixed up with wires. Part of him was confused, while the other was straight up pissed. It wasn't a fun feeling. Apparently, Jack had gone through a similar thing, evident by his now normal eyes and stance. Jack basically popped out and started rambling on, asking the half-normal/half-EXE what was going on and if he was okay. RoPo spoke very panicked, since his brain and cells were dealing with the virus, the part of him that was confused turned scared.
However, soon after, he felt his face flush, and his veins boil. This was the virus. When he spoke this time, it was spite-filled and horrid-sounding. Due to the virus putting strain on his robotic vocal cords. Jack, being smart, backed away from RoPo. It was clear he wasn't okay, nor was he fully cured. When RoPo returned to normal for however many seconds, he would try to reason with Jack and tell him that he needed to leave.
With Jack backed up onto the balcony, RoPo felt his face flush for the last time. He knew it was the last time as his vision filled with black spots, and his ears flooded with sounds of what could be described as waves. Almost as if he had been kicked into maddening autopilot, he made a beeline for Jack, who quickly made his escape. Jumping off the balcony with a parachute. RoPo.EXE didn't care, however, as he knew where he was going next. The Little Lizard High School.
