Summary:

Molly rant

Notes:

I just feel like this is important to mention.

Chapter Text

Something that amazes me about Molly is the matter of her archery skills, specifically the fact that she uses a traditional long bow instead of a compound bow. Compound bows especially for beginners usually have a draw weight from 10 to 25 pounds– again for beginners. Molly, who before coming to camp had never used a bow before, which is not all that surprising– a bunch of people's first experience with shooting sports is through scouting, as well as me. Molly, a first time archer who is a freaking teenager instead of picking a bow that counselors will recommend or even have as the only option because obviously– Molly grabbed a long bow which on average is a 100 to 110 pounds of draw weight. And she immediately was like ‘aight that's the one I want to use.’ The girl has the shoulder strength of a god, not to mention she has the skills of a professional! Plus the fact that she never uses a wrist guard or draw glove, she either has amazing form or just doesn't care that her skin is getting ripped off. I know a bunch of people who don’t use draw gloves but that's because they don't have them. I’m pretty sure It is required to have them available at a public range, especially if literal children are the ones shooting. So either there are some safety regulations being violated or Molly just doesn't care enough about the state of her fingers to wear one. I respect her so damn much because of the sheer will power she has while doing archery. Y’all wtf.
