Chapter Text
[Three months later: delivery day]
Jeongguk strode back and forth outside the delivery room, teeth biting on his nails like crazy as sweat gathered at his forehead.
Taehyung had been experiencing false labour pains the whole month, but this one was real. And the alpha panicked real hard when the elder’s water broke back at home. He didn’t know whether to call the ambulance first or get the bag they had prepared for the same emergency.
Thanks to the omega who smacked him with his phone right on the face he gained some sense of mind— or else he was losing it all.
Now, as he waited outside since the last ten minutes that they took his boyfriend away— he couldn’t stop fretting. Jeongguk felt like it was because of him that they were late, and the emergency delivery had to take place.
Had he not been a mess.
As the time passed by, Dr. Saeron emerged out of the room, spotting him still standing with his back against the wall. Upon noticing the doctor, he rushed towards her. “H-How’s he?”
“He’s fine, sleeping as of now.”
Jeongguk heaved out a breath like he hasn’t been able to for hours, shoulders slumping down before he rubbed his face. “A-And the baby? Is it healthy?”
“Very healthy, it’s a girl, Mr. Jeon.”
The alpha gasped, before smiling and bowing down to the woman. “T-Thank you, thank you so much.”
“No worries at all! Just take loads of care of Taehyung and the baby like you’ve been doing so for the past months.” Jeongguk nodded eagerly. “And you can see them after a few minutes, the nurse will let you know.”
“Y-Yes!”
He finally sat down on the bench, grinning ear to ear as he waited to see the two loves of his life. He just couldn’t wait.
Just then, he heard hurried footsteps before a familiar voice reached him. “Hey, hey! Am I late?” Jimin panted out, car keys still clutched tightly in his palms, he had been on the way back home from the restaurant that he and Jeongguk managed together for the past three months when he got the call and rushed to the hospital.
He was so relieved that he asked for the alpha to leave early, or it might have been even more of an emergency.
“The baby’s here.” Jeongguk spoke dreamily, “it’s a baby girl.”
“Oh my god, wow! Congratulations, Gguk-ah.”
The younger nodded, “thank you… I can’t believe I will hear her calling me ‘dada’.”
“You earned it, buddy.” The beta proudly referred. “Taehyung loves you, you know?”
“I do, I still can’t grasp my head around it, but I know.” It has been three months since their confession, but it still felt so unreal. He had pinched himself back to reality, only to realise his attempts were in vain.
The once unattainable-looking omega was now his. And there was a child in the picture too.
Taehyung’s… and Jeongguk’s too.
When the nurse allowed him to go inside, he hadn’t meant to start crying right when he stepped inside. But the view in front of him was too emotional. The nurse who was checking on the IV fluids was alerted, but the alpha waved it off.
“P-Please don’t mind me,” he sniffed, embarrassed but his heart still ached with too much adoration.
The nurse subtly smiled. She had seen many of these moments, and whenever the alpha cried because he was too happy— it was just beautiful to witness.
Jeongguk took in the sight in front of him, heart melting and his wolf whining because it was just too cute. The baby laid right beside an unconscious Taehyung. His face was pale, but devoid of any stress.
“The anaesthesia will slowly wear off, but he might wake up in the middle so press the buzzer if he does.” The nurse dictated before leaving when the alpha nodded in understanding.
When they were left all alone, he sat down on the stool, putting it close to the hospital bed.
Gazing at the elder, his heart shook with how strong his boyfriend had been throughout this whole time. Jeongguk took his palms in his own, pressing a kiss over the knuckles before turning his eyes to the little bean sleeping right beside Taehyung.
“I love you both so much.” He whispered before resting his face against the bed, looking at them like he was taking in every detail, engraving them in his mind.
“Come here.” Taehyung was awake now, and after the nurse and doctor assured everything, he was handed the baby for skin to skin contact.
Jeongguk stood at the door, because he was previously asked to leave, and as his omega extended his arms he didn’t have it in him to let his confusing emotions take over.
“I’m so proud of you.” He breathed out just as he reached the elder. Taehyung’s face lit up, and a big smile took over it because of the simple yet meaningful praise.
“I love you.” He said instead of a thank you, “you know that, right?”
“I do.” Jeongguk croaked out, the lump in his throat indicating another emotional episode. Taehyung moved forward to close the space between their lips, making the alpha look into his eyes with his teary ones.
“Don’t cry, you baby.” The elder chuckled, wiping the tears before they could cascade down. “You’ve a baby now.”
That made both of them giggle.
“I love you even more, and our baby too.” Jeongguk confessed, hand on his heart because he felt like it could jump out of its place any moment.
“Good, she’s ours.” Taehyung pressed another kiss over the younger’s lips. “Wanna hold her?”
“I… what if I drop her…?”
“Silly, you won’t. She’s light as a feather.”
“Still…” his doubts vanished as soon as he was handed the baby, their baby. “Oh my god… oh shit.”
“Hey, didn’t you say no cursing?” Taehyung reminded him, fingers pressing against his chest.
“Oh yes… sorry. But hyung… She's so beautiful.” Jeongguk dreamily whispered, looking down at the small face of the angel in his arms. Their baby was still sleepy, yet to gain the energy.
“Right.”
“It’s you,” the alpha turned towards him. “It’s because of you she’s so pretty.”
The omega blushed like a teenager, smacking lightly at Jeongguk’s shoulder. “Shut up!”
“I’m not lying.”
“You’re just biased.” Taehyung joked.
“I’m in love, that’s all.”
And that, well, could never be a joke.
“What should we name her?” Later when Jeongguk burped her after the omega was done feeding their baby— his curiosity took over.
Taehyung smiled at the way they looked like his perfect family, his loves. “I saw this name a few days ago…”
“Tell me!”
“Naomi.”
“Pleasantness.” The alpha repeated its meaning, receiving a nod from the elder. “It’s perfect, love.”
“Our Naomi.” Taehyung stated so with his heart in his throat. Jeongguk giggled right when the little burp rang against his ears, and his heart slipped again.
They were happy, this was their happy ending, which was accompanied by so many new beginnings.
But there was nothing to stress about this time.
Because they found each other right in the middle when things got hard, and they only planned to be inseparable for life.
Every step that led them close to each other was worth it now.
Worth it when they could see their little family of three flourish.
With quiet ‘I love you’s’ shared between them, and Naomi's breathy whines and toothless smiles— they felt complete.
So complete that the outer world didn’t matter anymore.
