Chapter Text
Epilogue
A month later they were at a fancy restaurant. Soft music played in the background and flickering candles lit their table.
Oliver raised a glass of wine with a warm smile. "Cheers to your first launch at Felix Innovations. And a month of us."
Felicity smiled back and clinked her glass against his. "I still can't believe any of this is happening."
"Hold onto that thought." Oliver reached into his jacket and pulled out a rectangular box. He placed it in front of Felicity.
Her mouth opened wide as she opened the box and gently lifted a sparkling necklace. "It's beautiful!"
Oliver stood up and went around to her side. "Just like you." He took the necklace from her hands and fastened it around her neck. Then he leaned in and stole a kiss from her before he went back to his seat.
Felicity fingered the necklace around her neck and beamed.
"And I have some good news to share," Oliver continued. "We found the culprit behind the fake news so they won't be an issue anymore."
"Oh really! Who was it?"
Oliver hesitated. He didn’t want to keep secrets from her, but sometimes he had to. "I can't tell you."
Felicity's excitement faded. "Right."
"But enough about me. We're here to celebrate your new position. What's next for the new Chief Technology Strategist?"
Felicity just stared at him for a moment. "I... I can't tell you either."
Oliver laughed. He reached across the table to hold her hand. "Feels different on the other side, doesn't it?"
Felicity squeezed his hand and forced a smile. "I did give you a hard time about that, didn't I?"
"Yes you did," Oliver said softly.
"I'm sorry. I get it now."
"I still trust you, despite your secrets."
"I trust you too."
