Chapter Text
Sammy walked around the whole town and talked to every person,he rummaged through the trash cans and sadly didn't find anything. "Ugh! why don't they ever have anything!" Sammy thought as he walked back home,he was greeted by Snickers. He took in the scenery of the farm,there were many green trees though there were some leaves that were changing color,it was a warm orange color. It meant that autumn was coming soon to the little town which Sammy was excited for. He took out his watering can,he watered the remaining crops that weren't ready yet then planted wheat seeds.
"Alright let's see how Pepper is doing" Sammy said to himself,he walked over to the little chicken coop that Robin built for him recently. He's embarrassed to admit it but he got too excited when he found he had everything to build one that he forgot that he had to build a silo first. Marnie had heard about it,she wasn't happy at all and the same day she gave him a long talk about how to care for chickens which was definitely needed. Sammy was grateful for the talk because now he knew how to care for Pepper more better. He let Pepper out so she could roam and eat fresh grass,he gave her a gentle pet that she loved alot then he went inside the coop and picked up the egg she laid.
He put the egg in a chest he had next to the coop filled with other eggs she had laid. He sighed softly and sat down at the steps of his house,when he looked at the time it was somehow already one a clock. "I should go look for some clay,it's the last thing I need for the silo!" Sammy said to himself as he spent the remainder of his day looking for earthworms sticking out.
It was four thirty pm and Sammy was losing hope,every earthworm didn't give him clay. He was walking by the old community center and saw some worms sticking out,he took out his hoe and when he used it clay popped out. He let out the most inhumane scream that everyone in the town could hear,he could care less how insane he looked as he quickly went home(he couldn't bring it to Robin cause it was already five a clock). He put the clay away,he was still excited as he was jumping up and down which made Snickers jump up with him aswell. He started to calm down then sat down on the steps of his house once more.
He watched the trees dance with the wind while the time kept passing by. Sammy wondered when Shane was gonna come over,he promised he'd show up to see Pepper. It was now six pm,Shane should've been off work by now maybe he was at the tavern then he'd come over when he was done. Sammy got hungry so he went inside to grill some corn then sat down on the steps. He looked around his farm as he ate his corn,he was proud of it and he couldn't wait to expand it more.
It was now nine pm,Sammy was finished with his corn and he was getting a little annoyed but he just sighed and decided to go to bed. He grabbed his plate but before he could go inside he heard someone; "Sammy!! I'm here!!" Shane called out loudly,he was stumbling a little though he was clearly tipsy.
"Yeah but you're very late.." Sammy told him while looking annoyed,he went inside anyway so he could put his plate away.
"I know...I know and I'm sorry,I stayed too long at the tavern but I'm here now.." Shane apologized,he hoped Sammy wasn't too annoyed with him especially since this isn't the first time he's done this.
Sammy sighed softly but then smiled. "It's fine but please try to come on time." He told him calmly,he held Shane's hand and took him over to the coop,when they went inside Pepper was already sleeping in her little nest.
"Aww..she looks so cute.." Shane smiled happily as he saw her. They watched her sleep peacefully in her little bed,the sun kept going down until it was completely dark with the only light coming from the camp fires that Sammy set around the farm. "Hey Sammy.." Shane spoke softly while still holding Sammy's hand,Sammy looked at him.
"What is it?" He asked curiously.
Shane looked at him,he looked a little embarrassed but he looked happy. "I was wondering..if you wanted to go on a picnic with me near the community center?" He asked softly while he pulled Sammy closely.
"Ohh! Yes yes!!" Sammy answered excitedly while jumping a bit which made Shane chuckle sweetly. They both just stood there laughing and holding each other.
"Yoba...I hope we get married one day.." Shane blurted out,most likely because he was intoxicated. Sammy smiled as he kissed Shane gently then pulled away slowly.
"I hope we get married too..." Sammy whispered sweetly,he was still holding Shane close.
