Aki let out a small satisfied sigh when he heard the redhead’s answer. The heaviness in his chest resumed for just a moment and he was able to look the other male in the eye,smiling with the corners of his mouth.
Angel didn’t understand the complicated expression on Aki’s face,was he that happy to drink a beer with him? Nobody was ever this excited to hang out with him. Not that he was the nicest person to be around,but the feeling that someone really wanted his company made his heart warm up just a little bit.
Once they got their backpacks and closed the shop,they walked on the dark streets toward Aki’s apartment,then climbed the squeaky stairs and eventually entered the small apartment.
When the light flickered on,Angel could see the emptiness of the flat,there was really nothing in there,excepting necessary furniture like a table,some chairs and a Tv,the redhead couldn’t really make out more than that,which made him a bit confused.
“You moved here recently,right?” He asked hoping to hear the answer he wanted.
It was weird to see someone live in such a sterile home,no plants,no paintings,no pictures…
Aki looked at Angel while he was getting his shoes off :”Kind of,i was in the hospital these past two years ,so i barely went home”
He tried to come off as casual,to not make it a big deal,right? He didn’t need his pity,or his compassion,he just wanted to be normal…
Angel looked at him,while walking into the living room and laying on the floor,looking at the ceiling.
He didn’t think of a good enough answer,but he figured Aki was sick,he thought about it even when he first met him,it was something about him,a certain feeling that made him think he was exhausted…
Aki brushed it off and brought the beers from the fridge along with some snacks that he had laying around,putting them on the table.
“I haven’t drank like this since highschool…” He chuckled while cracking up one of the cand and taking a big sip,sighing in pleasure and smiling.
Angel looked at him with the corner of his eyes,curiously analysing his coworker.
Seeing how much he enjoyed his beer,he couldn’t resist it and opened one for himself as well.
They both decided on watching a movie , so that the silence wouldn’t be as heavy on them.
They both smoked and drank until the movie ended,only for them to start another one,being already tipsy and laughing ever so slightly at whatever was on screen,they leaned on eachother ,holding their bellies while chuckling and whatever dumb scenes were on the TV.
It was around 3 thirty am when Aki finally fell asleep on Angel’s shoulder,letting his weight lean on the skinnier male’s body.
When he heard the brunette’s snores,his eyes glided over his body,laying frozen stuck to him,breathing slowly,chest raising and lowering rythmically.
Aki looked so peaceful,although they both stunk of cigarettes and cheap alcohol,he looked as if he was happy,and deep down,Angel thought that if his presence made his coworker so happy,then he must keep being alive,just for a bit,just so he could him smile just a couple more times.
He thought of killing himself a couple times,not seriously,but deep enough to actually consider it. He hated his day to day life,he didn’t really see a point,it was all a never ending routine that never seemed to end. But when this guy showed up,having those puppy dog eyes that practically longed to meet his,it made him waver,who would be so desperate in befriending him?
Brushing his fingers through his black hair,caressing his head for a moment,then lowering his face and smelling the top of his head discreetly before falling asleep ,leaning onto him,while hearing the television sounds slowly drift away,while he fell into a deep sleep.
