Chapter Text
The first days of Xie Lian’s bedrest were horrible. The prince was really bored but at least his dear San Lang was there for every moment of it.
The ghost gave Xie Lian lots of food and water everyday and Xie Lian (now knowing the dangers of his “fasting”) ate every single thing.
After two weeks Xie Lian was feeling a lot better, mentally and physically. He felt more relaxed and his body was thanking him for giving it the rest he needed.
Hua Cheng was very happy of this change.
Two months passed by in the blink of an eye and Xie Lian was glowing with his beautiful baby bump.
“You’re gorgeous, Gege - Hua Cheng always told him - the prettiest in all three realms” Xie Lian always blushed, his husband always made him feel good.
All Xie Lian insecurities weighed nothing when his dear beloved said those words like a prayer.
Because deep down, he knew they were.

Hua Cheng was away that day because he needed to settle down some argument that was happening to the gamblers den.
“Who cares Gege, you’re almost due. if something might happened when you’re all alone…” Hua Chneg said massaging his beloved’s cheek.
“Don’t worry San Lang, if anything happens I’ll just call thru the communication array. Besides, if they called you I'm pretty sure is something serious.- the prince replied kissing the man in red’s hand- I’ll be fine, don’t worry”
“Fine, but promise me to be careful. Okay?”
“Okay. See you soon San Lang”

Xie Lian, without his Husband to entertain him, was feeling incredibly bored.
“Might as well take that book on the shelf, it’s only two steps anyways” Xie Lian thought.
He got out of the refined sheets and got up. He slowly walked to the bookshelf, got his favorite book of poems and started walking towards the bed.
He suddenly stopped as he felt a sharp pain in the abdomen. He looked down and a powerful realization hit him.
His water broke.
—------
“San Lang! My water broke!”
Hua Cheng had never ran faster in his life.
