There's a loud knock on the door. “It's open!” Faye sees that it is Yanagi.
“How is he doing?”
“Well, I think. I got some painkillers for him”
“Guys don’t worry~ I was just a little dizzy last night. I’m ok. It happens one in a while”
“What?!? Harumasa that’s not good!” Faye seems genuinely worried.
“Oh right…you don’t know, Faye. I have Ether Aptitude Regression Syndrome”
“Huh-?
“It is an illness that causes certain parts of the patient's body to mutate, wrecking their constitution, but also giving them unusually exceptional Ether aptitude. In the late stages of the illness, the patient's body will rapidly deteriorate, losing their Ether aptitude and sensory functions while under immense pain, eventually resulting in death. If the patient's illness worsens in the late stages while in a Hollow, they'll quickly be corrupted into an Ethereal. People who suffer from Ether Aptitude Regression Syndrome do not live long. It’s probably because when we were in the hollow, over-exercising can trigger my illness. So…”
“Asaba! Why didn’t you say anything to us when we were in the hollow? Besides Faye who just learned about it, the rest of us know about your illness. I’ll get your medicine” as Yanagi quickly leaves
“I dunno. We were leaving when it hit me.” Harumasa noticed Faye looking guilty
“Faye, what’s wrong?”
“You carried me yesterday, I-“
“Shh, it’s fine. You were tired, I didn't mind. It was ok Faye” as Harumasa puts a finger on their lips. “I promise, it's ok”
“O-Oh ok….”
“Asaba I’m back. I got your medicine” Yanagi walks back in “Here Asaba… am I interrupting something-?”
“Nah you’re not. Thanks Tsukishiro~”
“I called Chief Miyabi, and Miyabi and I said to take the day off”
“Ok”
“Faye, I will be going now. You can stay. Seems like he wants you to”
“Bye”. She left his apartment walking back and taking the Train back to work.
“I’m sorry-“
“Faye, stop apologizing”
“But-“
“No. You didn’t know” Harumasa lies next to Faye. He lies down
A couple of hours later, Faye is next to Harumasa cuddled up. Harumasa wakes up and sits up. “Morning- huh-“ he notices cracks on Faye’s face.
“..? Yes-?” As Faye wakes up
“!!!” Faye shoves Harumasa away
“Ignore the marks. I- sorry. Morning! Are you doing ok” the sudden shift in Faye’s mood
“Faye-“
“No- I’ll get-“
“Faye! I’m not upset with you” Harumasa notices Faye fidgeting with her shirt. He takes his hand and holds it
“What are you doing”
“Nothing” he smiles at Faye
The flutter, a feeling a Faye’s chest when they smiled a him. No no that can’t be, Faye shakes away the thought of it
“I’m ok”
“You sure?”
“Mhm”
—— 2 days later
After work, “Abasa, where is Faye” Yanagi
“Huh? I can go look for him-“
“Are you trying to leave?”
“No”
Harumasa gets up. He starts looking for Faye. After like 5 minutes looking for Faye. He feels someone grab him
“S-See this is my partner” Harumasa hears Faye’s voice and looks over
“Please pretend to be my partner so they can leave me alone” Faye whispers
They nod “I am, who are you”
The guy laughs “YOU?? Yeah right, prove it”
“What”
“Prove it, Harumasa.”
Harumasa turns to Faye and lifts her face, as he whispers “Can I kiss you”
“Ok,”
Harumasa gently kisses them and pulls them closer. Faye didn’t expect the kiss to feel THIS good and leans into the kiss
“Ugh..” The guy leaves but they don’t realize
Faye wraps his arms around Harumasa. Harumasa grabs their waist and deepens the kiss
“Mhm…H-haru-“
“Faye! Abasa!” They pull away hearing a voice.
“What the hell are you doing” It’s Yanagi
“Tsukishiro- it’s not what you think-“
“You sure Harumasa,” as Miyabi shows him the picture of him and Faye kissing
Faye gets flustered “d-deleted that!”
