Chapter Text
"Denki, what the FUCK do you mean, ‘I owe Sero and Mina money’?!?!” I shout, not truly angry but just shocked at the words that came from his mouth.
"I, uh... We may have... Bet on which one of you two will confess and when...”
"Jesus, you're impossible... Why do you owe both of them money?"
"Sero said that Tenya would confess, and Mina said that the confession would happen around when it ended up happening."
"Christ, tell them and whoever else bet that they're batshit insane.”
"Trust me, they already know."
"That's good..."
Just then, Tenya approaches. "What are you two chattering about?"
"This dipshit BET on when we'd get together.”
"... really?"
“I lost?" Kaminari pleads his case anxiously.
"Kaminari.” Tenya says with a firmness that makes my heart flutter.
"C’mon, man. We already got yelled at by Katsuki for betting on it, I really don't need to be scolded twice for the same thing."
"I think that's the first time that I've agreed with that nerd."
"Do you WANT him to kick your ass?"
"It's true!"
"I mean, yeah, but I don't want you two to fight! His Quirk's SCARY...”
"Hey! Dunce-face and Creepy Crawly! The fuck are you two talking about?!"
"Speak of Bakugo..." Tenya murmurs under his breath.
Denki and I stare at each other for a moment before we both decide picking a fight with Katsuki is NOT worth it.
"Denki was telling me just now badly he lost that one bet."
"The bet about you and four-eyes?"
"Yeah, that one.”
Katsuki turns to Denki. "Not only did you dumbasses BET ON IT... You TOLD HIM about it? Christ, you're hopeless...”
With Bakugo's little outburst summons others from their class, including the winners of the bet. After Denki explains who won and how, Tenya starts gently herding everyone to their class.
"Class is starting soon!”
"We can't be late!”
"We shouldn't sacrifice valuable class time because of a silly bet!"
After his classmates are in their classroom, Tenya walks me to mine, stopping just outside the open doorway.
"Have a good day, YN. See you after class?"
"Sounds like a plan. Have an amazing day."
My friends at their desks have mischievous grins on their faces as they near-telepathically plan to ask how I got ‘Prince Treatment’ from Tenya.
At lunch, they strike.
"So, YN, how did you get Iida so smitten?”
"I don't actually know. I wasn't going out of my way to talk to him, but he was smitten enough to send me a ton of gifts.”
"What?! No way, you don't know how you got TENYA to fall for you?!"
"I'm serious! All I did was play DND in the same party as him for a few sessions!"
We were chattering all lunch, not noticing the bell telling us to go the hell to class.
"YN, dear, please get your friends to go back to class. I'd hate it if any of you got in trouble for tardiness." Tenya’s voice comes from behind me, startling me. “I'm sorry for startling you, I didn't mean to."
"Sure thing. And I know you didn't mean to startle me."
I start to convince my friends to go back to class, with them playfully complaining before relenting.
Later that day, after classes ended, I was in my dorm playing a video game when I get a knock at my door.
"Yeah? What's up?"
"I'd just like to hang out with you, if you want.” Tenya’s voice came through from the other side of the door.
"Oh, of course! Come in, the door's unlocked!"
Tenya enters my dorm, and I guide him to a seat on my bed.
"So, did you have anything in mind? I have a couple ideas if you wanna hear them.”
"How about a walk at the local park, YN? It's a nice day out.”
"Ooh, that sounds nice! I'm definitely down for that! Let me get outta my uniform and into something comfier, okay?"
"Oh, of course. I'll wait outside, if that's alright with you?"
"Sounds good, I'll be right out!"
