Chapter Text
Ranpo walked in to the agency, early per usual. Only Kunikida and Fukuzawa were there, Kunikida already sorting files and filing mission reports. The president was in his office working on important paperwork. Ranpo had his usual grin on and waved to Kunikida, greeting him. "Good morning Kunikida-kun!" Ranpo said as he walked past Kunikida's desk, "Good morning, Ranpo-san." Kunikida said looking up from his work for a brief moment to greet Ranpo back.
Ranpo headed over to the old elevator and got into the elevator, Ranpo waited with a soft ding the door opened to the president's office. Ranpo hopped out the elevator and went over to Fukuzawa, who was currently working on some files.
Ranpo sat down on the edge of Fukuzawa's desk, "May I help you Ranpo?" Fukuzawa said gently looking up and placing down his pen on his desk. Ranpo had on his usual bored expression, "Ah, not much just came to tell you I'm pregnant." Ranpo said nonchalantly as he took a lollipop out of his pocket and began unwrapping it. Fukuzawa swore time stopped for a moment as he stuttered over his words, "R- Ranpo.. you're sure your pregnant?"
Ranpo nodded, not seeming to be bothered by it.
Fukuzawa stood up with wide eyes, "When did you find out?!-" Ranpo sighed, looking at the president, "This morning" sounding bored of this conversation. The president sighs worriedly as he thinks, "Well, have you told Poe?" Fukuzawa asks Ranpo still slightly concerned. Ranpo pauses, stopping mid-movement of bringing the lollipop to his mouth, turning his head as he shook his head, "No, not yet, Poe had already left for work."
Fukuzawa sighs and sits back down, "I will be granting you maternity leave, you shouldn't have come today." Ranpo's face turns into a pout, "Fukuzawa-dono! Are you trying to kill me with boredom or what!" Fukuzawa knows Ranpo will probably come to work anyways, "Fine, but you're not allowed on missions." Ranpo gives his usual grin and nods, seeming satisfied with the deal.
Ranpo hops off the desk skipping along as he waves to Fukuzawa before heading back to his desk.
Ranpo was currently sitting at his desk, sorting through files and cases. In short time everyone else had arrived, expect Naomi because she had school today. Ranpo had been snacking more than usual, every once in a while snacking on a lollipop or two. Now normally this wouldn't be unusual but whenever someone looked over at Ranpo he always was eating something.
A few seemed to notice the increased appetite but didn't say anything. Kenji was stealing nervous glances at Ranpo because Ranpo had been actually getting through cases faster than usual. Kunikida was surprised and probably thinking if it was the snacks making Ranpo faster or he was having a good day. Ranpo already had a tall stack of finished reports with him still working on more. Fukuzawa walked in the agency office and sighed when he saw Ranpo working on so many files.
"Ranpo, don't overwork yourself, it's not good for you or the child.." Fukuzawa sighs as he walks over to Ranpo's desk. Ranpo glanced up, "It's fineee" he chirps as he continues. Kunikida stops as he was walking past Ranpo's desk, "Child?.. What child?" Kunikida's face drops.
Ranpo smirks happily, "I'm pregnant!" Kunikida passes out cold on the ground right there and then. The thud causing a few people to looks up as Kunikida regains conciseness, "You're what." Kunikida questions just to make sure he heard that right, Ranpo giggles like a little school girl, "I told you, I'm pregnant!" It seems Ranpo's pregnant glow is really working.
Dazai looks over from where he was next to Kunikida, "Ranpo. Who did you fucking sleep with?" Dazai exclaims suddenly as he was slightly concerned, a rare side of him that few ever saw. Kunikida was too shocked to even correct Dazai on his language.
