Chapter Text
The boy woke up in his grandfather's room, wrapped in soft blankets and cotton sheets. His cap was on the nightstand, as the light was starting to get through the window.
The boy rubbed his eyes before sitting down on the bed that didn't belong to him. He felt the blankets below his hands, the texture not really relevant for him because now, he was slowly remembering what had happened last night. And being here, in this room, the room of his grandfather, made him feel sick in his stomach.
The boy loved his grandfather very much, but the guilt still lingered. He remembered how he had almost set his entire room on fire, and he remembered the look of pity and guilt on his grandfather's face. It made his heart break with just knowing that he was the cause of his grandfather guilt and concern.
He shouldn't have done that.
Why he lost control like that?
The boy felt a ray of light illuminate his thoughtful face, and he couldn't feel the warmth of that Ray of sunshine that was coming from the window. He couldn't stand how it seemed like everything was laughing at him. The bright light signaled a new day, and the sun began to warm things up. And still BoBoiBoy felt that he was stuck, stuck in guilt and regret.
But the world doesn't wait anyone.
The world keeps turning, everything continues its course even if you feel tired or miserable.
The world will keep turning and the days will repeat themselves.
And BoBoiBoy couldn't stand that, everything was just mocking him at this point, or it was just the exhaustion in his heart and mind that was taking a toll in his sanity?
At this point he didn't even know.
Because in that bed, there was only a boy who was playing at being a hero. Or maybe he wasn't playing the part anymore; he was a hero. A galaxy hero. And still, he disappoints people, he hurts others, and the world will keep turning regardless of whether he feels more exhausted each day than the last.
It wasn't fair.
He didn't want to keep doing this at all.
But he didn't want to quit. And the truth was clear, he will never quit because an important piece of himself was his will to help others, not caring about the outcomes for himself, he wanted to help people and saved them.
But now he was wondering how much he was helping; he's been messing up lately. And he's tired of it; he's tried everything. But his powers have become unstable; he should stop trying to increase their level. It's only caused him misery.
But what if an stronger villain attacks and he's not able to do anything? What if he's useless again because he was selfish?
Because he was selfish for not upgrading his powers, because he was too self centered and decided to quit being a saviour.
What was he supposed to do?
BoBoiBoy just couldn't take it anymore, the pressure was starting to suffocating him. He ran his hand through his brown hair, sighing. He stared at the ceiling, his eyes lacking their usual sparkle, but at this point he wondered if that sparkle was still there in his heart.
Because he was feeling upset, upset because of everything. And he didn't want to hold it down, why he needs to hold it down, why he can't express it freely?
BoBoiBoy chuckled at that thought. The thought of simply letting his feelings be expressed freely. Letting everyone know that the hero they believed in was just a silly, sensitive kid, who was upset because they couldn't have a normal life.
Surely people would say that he should be grateful. That he was blessed with power and popularity.
But he wasn't. He wasn't satisfied, he wasn't happy. And he couldn't just stop the feeling anymore, he can't stop the stupid envy, anger and helplessness that he was feeling in the moment.
He wanted a family. Something that everyone had, and he didn't. He didn't have a mom, he didn't have a dad.
Why he couldn't have that?
Why did it take him so long? How did it take him so long to realize that this wasn't what he wanted?
He wanted his mom back.
He wanted his dad to see him.
He wanted a normal life.
BoBoiBoy couldn't help himself but to look at his hands, that hands that were soft and used to hold his mother hand back when she was alive. Now they were dry, calloused, and scarred. Used by him to defend those who needed him, hands that took those thorny vines, those hands that held thunder, those hands that were supposed to hold a great power and a great destiny.
But... What's that destiny? What's that great destiny that everyone would talk about?
Dreams? Wishes?
He remembers how he used to hear others talking about what they wanted to be when they grew up. He remembers how other children talked about their dream jobs.
He wanted to be a Soccer player.
He remembers how he used to play with that ball, the same ball he brought from his old home to his grandfather's house. Now that same ball lay in a corner of his room, gathering dust.
BoBoiBoy felt his chest tightening, He drew his legs up and placed them against his chest, hugging himself as he felt the feelings becoming too much for him. He felt overwhelmed.
He loved save power spheres, he loved save people and protect his friends.
But he remembers that his greatest love was soccer.
Even if he wished to be like his father one day, a good hero and a great figure of hope and strength.
Now he didn't even knew if he wanted to keep having this powers that had started to burn him.
The same powers that once gave him strength and purpose were now just another pressure, another fire that began to consume his body and who he once was. A fire that broke free in a forest and was consuming everything, Killing everything around him.
He doesn't know how his life turned so gray. And so fast.
A few months ago his life was colorful and he thought that gaining power will meant that he would protect his friends and who needed him, because that was his job. He was a hero.
He had his friends beside him, and they are still there, even if he doesn't deserve it. And it's killing him.
Just thinking that he hurt them, just thinking that he had to put his sorrows and worries on them, made him feel bad, made him feel like he was the worst friend in the world. He should be protecting them, but he's been hurting them.
BoBoiBoy could only feel a few tears trickling down his cheeks, warm and wet. But even so, they felt empty, without any purpose. You shouldn't be crying in Tok Aba's room; you should be looking for a way to fix this. Apologize to Tok Aba and Ochobot about last night. And apologize to his friends for being such an useless and selfish person.
Because everything he was thinking, all these feelings, were unnecessary and unimportant. It was selfishness, because why he was thinking in quitting, or why he was only thinking in what he could have if he wasn't a hero. He was a hero now, and people depend on him and his Decisions.
BoBoiBoy wiped his tears with his trembling hand, watching his reflection in his watch. And he only felt the urge to cry begin to resurface again.
This watch was meant to represent his power, his desire to help; it represents the gift that Ochobot gave him when they met. And now, now it seemed like a cursed object in his eyes, and it seemed like a wish that had been changed and twisted into something he was starting to hate. And it hurts him.
It hurts that the thing that once represented unity, strength, and an important moment, changed into something that destroyed him.
BoBoiBoy even would trade this thing if it wasn't dangerous for anyone else.
But he knows he's only lying to himself, because the truth is he couldn't bring himself to throw this watch away. In the end, it was so important to him, it was a part of him. Even if it started to destroy every part of him, and each fragment of his former personality. Because honestly, he doesn't feel that joyful and hopeful kid, that kid that joked with Gopal, who played soccer and went to school as a normal kid.
He took a deep breathe, wanting to hold on and not cry for the second time. Even with the pain in his chest, the exhaustion in his face, the lump in his throat and the heaviness in his body, he stood up from that bed. His steps were steady, heavy, full of the pressure in his shoulders.
He slowly made his way to the kitchen, and saw Tok Aba making the breakfast with Ochobot by his side. That's when Ochobot saw BoBoiBoy entering the kitchen, noticing how exhausted the boy looked even if he slept after crying his heart out in Tok Aba arms.
BoBoiBoy couldn't bring himself to say something, he knew that he was feeling as if he was breaking. As if he was a glass, a broken glass, that was held together with glue and tape. And with any movement, it will break.
Ochobot made his way towards him, calling his name softly as he hugged BoBoiBoy.
"BoBoiBoy..."
The power sphere couldn't stop himself for feeling bad for his owner and also big brother. But BoBoiBoy only hugged it back, and smiles at him. A soft and broken smile, that didn't reach his eyes.
And that didn't make Ochobot feel any better, even though he knew Boboiboy was trying to act and make his younger brother feel better. But Ochobot could see it, he could see the unspoken pain in that brown eyes.
Why things had turned into this?
Ochobot could feel, even if he was a robot, he could feel. He could feel happy, he could feel sad, and he could feel annoyed. But, then, why?
Why he couldn't guess BoBoiBoy suffering?
Why he didn't see it?
BoBoiBoy wasn't that hard to read, right?
And maybe, all this was his fault. He gave BoBoiBoy this power, and brought this pain in him and the rest of the gang. It was his fault for giving them powers at such a young age.
The robot felt how BoBoiBoy arms slowly started to withdraw, and then Tok Aba looked over the two with a smile, that hid the growing concern already placed in his old heart.
"Alright BoBoiBoy, it's time to eat. I'm sure you are hungry"
Tok Aba said to the boy, a smile in his face as he took the plates onto the table so they could have their breakfast.
The day was sunny, but the mood was gloomy. Even after trying to engage in a conversation with BoBoiBoy, Tok Aba still couldn't make the teenager feel any better and he couldn't stop feeling regret.
He regrets not paying enough attention, or not being there enough for that sweet and selfless kid.
It pained him to see him in this state. No smile, no cheerfulness, only a abyss of guilt that was eating him up. And maybe something more, but he couldn't place what it was.
BoBoiBoy had apologized so many times, spoken with such sorrow as if he had done something unforgivable. And all Tok Aba could do was hug him and tell him that everything was alright, that he understood. But that didn't make that teen feel any better. Even when he smiled and gave him a soft tone in his answers, Tok Aba knew better than believing that act, but he also couldn't do much if BoBoiBoy wasn't opening up.
He remembers well how BoBoiBoy came into his life. He was a light, a warm and graceful light, a beautiful child. A child who filled his life with joy after Umi passed away, and also who filled the hole that BoBoiBoy mother, Amato wife, left when she passed away after three years of BoBoiBoy being born.
BoBoiBoy was too young.
And Tok Aba's heart aches every time he remembers that this child had to grow up without his mother, and now, since the age of 10, he has had to grow up without his father.
And he has tried to be the family he needs, but apparently it's not enough, and he understands that. Every child wants a mother, a father, a functional family.
Tok Aba, made his way to the Kokotiam. BoBoiBoy followed after him, and he noticed how the Boy wasn't wearing his usual gap and it worried him. But he can't meddle if his grandson doesn't want to tell him the truth, yet.
He hopes that the gang, will have more luck than him. But if they aren't able to make BoBoiBoy feel better or open up, then he'll step in more determinated to be there for his grandson.
For now, he will let the gang comfort BoBoiBoy.
BoBoiBoy arrived to the Kokotiam, he was wearing his usual clothes, except his dino cap.
Then his friends started to arrive. Yaya and Ying walking side to side as they talked and greet Boboiboy who was sitting already, but he didn't look at them, he was too busy drinking some special chocolate from Tok Aba.
Yaya and Ying looked at each other, quite puzzled by the behavior that BoBoiBoy was showing but before they could ever say something, they were interrupted by an argument that was happening between Gopal and Fang, and Qually was eating pop corn as they arrived to their meeting place. Definitely Qually was amused by the little argument that was happening right now. And Yaya and Ying couldn't bring themselves to not intervene.
BoBoiBoy soon snapped from his overwhelming thoughts, as Fang called for him sharply as he wasn't answering their calls.
"BoBoiBoy! Are you even paying attention? We have been calling for you for minutes."
Fang said, masking the rising worry as he saw the state of his friend. He looked tired and not really in a good mood, even if BoBoiBoy just chuckled and apologize with a smile for not paying attention.
"BoBoiBoy are you okey?"
Ying couldn't help to not ask, because BoBoiBoy was acting down and he didn't bring his dino cap with him. It's worrying. But again, she was met with a nod and a smile that wasn't real, and that didn't reach that boy eyes.
"Yes Ying, don't worry about me."
"Dude, you look like you haven't slept at all!"
Gopal said munching into some chips, as he looked at BoBoiBoy. Or couse he knew that BoBoiBoy wasn't sleeping, BoBoiBoy has been tired for a week or two, and even after a little intervention, today BoBoiBoy looked even worse than before.
"Oh, I haven't been able to sleep haha. I guess I have been too entertained reading comics and playing. Sorry for worrying guys.."
Yeah, no one believed that.
Yaya gaze was soft as he looks over to BoBoiBoy and smiles at him, trying to show support.
"BoBoiBoy if you aren't feeling well you can always tell us, we are your friends and friends help each other and share their worries. You can trust us"
Words that were meant to reassure, made a sharp blade and was stabbed in that boy chest. Because even if she was trying to be supporting, that dark haired boy couldn't stop feeling that aching guilt, regret and he couldn't stop believing that he was being selfish for dragging his friends to his mess.
But BoBoiBoy smiles, he smiles at Yaya. He speak, he laughs, he decides to follow their advice and decide to accompany them for a walk around the place, have some fun to distract him.
Their plan was simple: to entertain BoBoiBoy and make him feel better by doing his favorite activities.
And they started with some fun at Gopal house. They were all going to play some videogames so BoBoiBoy could get distracted and actually enjoy his break.
Gopal handed a controller to BoBoiBoy and grabbed the other, Qually stood by Gopal side as they both shared to play a more game that Gopal was really excited to play.
Soon the tension and gloomy mood, started to shift into something more soft and warmth. BoBoiBoy was smiling when he won, and got annoyed when Gopal cheated or won. Both of them bickering over a game, as Fang laughed at them and Qually made some food for them in Gopal Kitchen.
Ying and Yaya laugh at some of their arguments, watching closely. They wanted to make sure that BoBoiBoy was having fun and enjoying himself without having to worry about anything happening. It looks like it was working, because BoBoiBoy was smiling and laughing with Gopal.
The truth was that BoBoiBoy was following their plan, he knows that they are trying their best to make him feel happy and he wants them to also be happy. So he acts as always, he speaks when they talk to him, he laughs when others laughs, and gets annoyed when Gopal wins.
And at some point, BoBoiBoy wasn't faking it anymore. He was actually forgetting his past struggles and burdens. But after playing and eating, soon that feeling rised in his chest once more.
Fang looked over to him, as they all were sitting on the living room. Ying and Yaya sitting beside each other in the couch, meanwhile Gopal, Qually and BoBoiBoy were still sitting on the floor, Fang was in the arm of the couch as he ate Qually food.
The food, was calming or at least tried to be. It has a good taste, it's warmth and it's an act of affection from Qually part for all the Kokotiam, and mostly for BoBoiBoy. A mix of flavors that tried to send a sweet message, a message that he wasn't alone and that the whole group was with him, no matter what. But would BoBoiBoy someday understand it?
And Fang eyes couldn't stop lingering a BoBoiBoy, he knew something was wrong but he couldn't force BoBoiBoy to say it. That's not how things are done, even if he could, but he knew that BoBoiBoy wouldn't appreciate the approach.
It was a bit frustrating.
BoBoiBoy was always sacrificing himself, putting others before himself, and he was someone who shone and there was something special about him that attracted others. And for some reason, this foolish friend of his, had faith in him and even when he betrayed them, he still believed in him. And BoBoiBoy is always there when someone needs him.
Then why? Why BoBoiBoy didn't relay more in others too?
Why he couldn't just tell the gang what was bothering him?
Why they couldn't help too?
And soon he speak, unable to stop the words that flowed freely, rolling from his tongue like second nature.
"How are you feeling, BoBoiBoy?"
Fang couldn't stop the words, so he roll with them as his gaze still didn't waver from the boy in the floor that was eating.
The silent was tick. Everyone had gone silent, Awaiting BoBoiBoy's response. And BoBoiBoy could feel all the eyes on him, he could feel how everyone watched him and he felt the pressure to answer but what he could say?
To say he felt bad? That guilt was eating away at every part of him?
Say that he feel that life wasn't fair? That he was unhappy with his life?
That he was unsatisfied?
That he was ungrateful for wishing to never has powers in fist place?
That his biggest desire was to have a normal life and that would make him ungrateful because everyone would wish for powers that he had?
That everyday he sees the life that he should have from the start?
That other kids get to have a family? To go school without thinking that some stupid green alien will go to attack and steal everything that it's important from him?
Other kids doesn't worry about dying. Or neither they wonder if one day they will die and not see those who are close to them, ever again.
.
"I'm feeling great, this food it's delicious, Qually."
BoBoiBoy answered, it was automatic. A soft smile and a tone that matched the words that he was saying at the moment, as if nothing was tearing him apart. Even if Qually food tasted bitter in his mouth, even when he didn't feel hungry and didn't want to keep taking salty bites, even when he felt that his own world was cracking under something Inexplicable, BoBoiBoy didn't stop eating, neither smiling or following the mood of his group.
What type of friend would he be if he didn't show happiness by this gestures?
His friends were trying and here he is. Tired, gloomy and faking. He's fake.
Precise and coordinated actions to deceive and hide the poison that began to form.
Poison that made his thoughts slip and be bitter at the world. Did he had the right to feel this bitter towards the world that he couldn't reach?
He doesn't know. But it doesn't feel right. Nothing feels right lately.
.
The answer that BoBoiBoy gave, was convincing, for people who didn't know BoBoiBoy really. Like Qually, he actually thought that BoBoiBoy was getting better with their company but the rest of the group could see something else below the carefully made up sweet lie.
His friends could read him like an open book. They could see the lie, and the way BoBoiBoy eyes looked dull or more tired than before this vacation started. They weren't fools, they know that he isn't feeling alright. But sometimes a sweet lie was better than a cruel truth, a bitter truth that no one was willing to shallow.
Yaya, kept his eyes on BoBoiBoy expression, taking the sight of dark circles under his eyes and the weariness in his eyes. Maybe he was smiling, he was laughing and joking with Gopal. But it didn't seem right, it felt artificial. But how could they reach the end of this puzzle, when the parts of the puzzle were hidden away.
Yaya concern was there, but she didn't know what to do. They had tried to talk to him, they offered him things, they said that they were going to be there if he needed it but still BoBoiBoy didn't say anything, he doesn't take the help.
And for Yaya, it didn't really get her angry, but she felt pity, pity for his friend that thought that he couldn't express freely with them. It made her feel like he didn't trust them enough to share his struggles.
"BoBoiBoy, how about after this, we go play some football? You used to love playing football."
Yaya spoke with a smile, wanting to make BoBoiBoy feel better. That's the plan, make BoBoiBoy feel better and soon discover what's bothering him.
BoBoiBoy expression turns into one of excitement, but still it wasn't right. It felt plastic for some reason, or maybe Yaya was just making things up.
The truth was that BoBoiBoy wasn't really that excited to play again, not like he didn't want it. Just didn't feel like playing again, or going to the park at all. He's been having fun, he ate because he had to, so others didn't worry. He played videogames even if he really didn't feel like touching that controller, even when he didn't want to play with Gopal and see how Gopal won almost all the times.
Everything felt wrong, and the young man without his cap couldn't shake that feeling away. He didn't know why, but all this feels wrong, fake. Or is it the life that soon he wouldn't have again?
Maybe that's it? This feeling of normality was what made him sick, knowing that all this was temporal and fake. Knowing that soon this break was over, he'll rush to work and everything will repeat, over and over, again and again. A tiring routine for him and his friends. And even if they have breaks, something bad is sure to happen and ruin it.
Boboiboy wishes someone could answer his questions. Is this the life of a hero? To give up everything and be subjected to an enormous responsibility that will soon break him? Is the constant fear that something will go wrong common?
His dad is a hero. But he isn't there.
Will he also be like his dad and will leave forever this place?
He doesn't want to leave Tok Aba. That isn't fair for him.
And still, he's away and leave Tok Aba away. He's already acting like his father and all because he's a hero.
Heroes don't leave their families behind. Or is everything sacrificed to save others?
"BoBoiBoy?"
"BoBoiBoy...?"
"BoBoiBoy!"
BoBoiBoy flinched, looking around with a nervous smile. His hand went behind his neck as he looked at his friends apologetically.
"Haha...I'm sorry guys, I guess I got distracted."
Again, no one believed it.
BoBoiBoy had zoned out at least more than a minute and he didn't answer any of their calls. He was watching directly his shoelaces while putting on his soccer shoes, and he just froze, he didn't answer, he looked as if he was thinking something hard. And it was worrying more the gang, this wasn't normal for BoBoiBoy. Of course he sometimes thinks a lot, but still it wasn't normal to zone out, and not answering any calls for him.
Gopal sighs with an annoyed eye roll, before taking BoBoiBoy arm and pulling him to the Soccer field to start playing already.
"You need to concentrate Dude, or we are going to lose against them!"
Gopal said pointing at the girls, because they were going to play against Yaya and Ying, while Fang it's the referee. Although Fang wanted to play, but against BoBoiBoy. Maybe later he will play against him.
BoBoiBoy nodded, as they started to stretch. Gopal was already getting ready to play, looking at the girls with a smug expression as if he was saying that they were going to win since the start. And of course, Yaya and Ying glared at him with fire in their eyes, they were the most competitive for a reason and Gopal could already feel regretting provoking them.
"Hehe we are going to win, right BoBoiBoy?"
Gopal said with a smug expression, as he backed away from where the girls were stretching, fearful but still trying to maintain the smugness from before.
But BoBoiBoy didn't answer, his uniform felt heavy and the shoes that he was wearing made him feel as if he had two rocks in his feet's, instead of the football shoes that he wished to use again to play and have fun.
He looks to the ball in his feets, begging to just be kicked and be rolled all over the field, but BoBoiBoy didn't. He wasn't doing his usual movements, like when he did before. Like when he did thigh pull-ups, or headed the ball several times.
He looks at the ball as if it were something harmful, something not safe to use.
His body really didn't feel like moving, and neither his brain made his body move.
What if...he forgot how to play?
What if he mess up and doesn't play as good as he did?
What if they lose against Yaya and Ying?
All because he forgot how to pass, or shoot on goal, or dribble past defenders.
What if he forgot how to do what he loved so much?
.
"BoBoiBoy wake up already!"
Gopal hit BoBoiBoy back with force, looking at him with a fed up expression, mixed with concern and annoyance. This was the second time it happened, it was starting to get concerning, or well it was already concerning but now it's more than that.
BoBoiBoy flinched at the hit, looking at Gopal with a small ashamed smile as he scratch his cheek.
"Hehe, sorry Gopal. I was distracted, sorry. What were you saying?
Gopal rolled his eyes again, with an annoyed expression, trying to hide the growing concern in his chest for his best friend. He needed to lighten the mood, maybe a bit of bickering like always would help.
"Ish! Pay attention BoBoiBoy, or are we going to lose against them!"
Gopal meant it in a playful tone, but the words were as if he was twisting a knife against BoBoiBoy chest, because he doesn't want to lose, he doesn't want to disappoint his friends. Soon, his body felt heavy again, as if something was pulling him down, but Yaya wasn't using her power.
Fang took the whistle and stood in the middle, taking the ball that had been at BoBoiBoy's feet and placing it in the center. With a coin in his hand.
"Alright, choose."
Yaya and Ying chose heads, and BoBoiBoy and Gopal chose tails. Soon the coin flew and landed in Fang's hand, revealing heads. Thus allowing Yaya and Ying to initiate the movement.
Gopal was the Goalkeeper on the field and Yaya was the goalkeeper for the other team, leaving Ying and BoBoiBoy as the main attackers.
"No powers!"
Fang yelled, reminding everyone that they shouldn't use their powers, because this was only for fun and because they don't want to destroy the field.
Ying with the ball in his feets, started to dribble towards the goal. BoBoiBoy didn't lose time, even if the feeling of his chest was there, he brushed it off and went against Ying, Trying to take the ball away from her.
They were both competing for the ball; when Boboiboy took it, Ying would come back and grab it too. They both ran back and forth, trying to keep the ball.
But the fear was there. BoBoiBoy still felt the fear of falling in the only thing that he was good at. He loved football, he was good at it, but how long has it been since he played a match with anyone?
Was he going to fail in what he loves?
He didn't want to fail. He didn't want to lose in the thing he loved.
He had failed time and time again when he's a hero, he can't fail in just playing a soccer game. It's a stupid game, he should be winning it.
All this feelings were playing against him, and soon Ying was able to defeat him and she stays with the ball as she ran towards the goal to be able to score. BoBoiBoy realized his mistake, and quickly ran to be able to catch up but soon Ying kicked the ball.
Gopal moved quickly and dived to catch the ball, which he managed to do. That obviously made Gopal proud; after all, they didn't play football very often.
"BoBoiBoy run!! I'm going to pass you the ball, run!"
BoBoiBoy recovered from his initial shock, and ran towards the girls side of the Soccer field. Looking back to see when Gopal will pass him the ball, and when Gopal kicked the ball towards him. He didn't have a problem, The ball was at his feet, and soon he started running with the aim of scoring a goal against Yaya.
His brown eyes were fixed on the goal; he was moving quickly, but soon his view was obscured. Ying was standing in front of him, face to face, ready to fight for the ball again and see who would keep it.
She had a competitive expression; that was common for her. Yaya and Ying were competitive and definitely weren't going to lose against Gopal and BoBoiBoy.
Soon a battle for the ball was started again. BoBoiBoy ran to a side, and soon Ying was Infront of him again. He blocked her with his body as he protected the ball, and so on.
He wasn't going to let them take the ball from him so easily. And he wasn't in the mood to accept defeat in what he loved most.
So they were both fighting. One would take the ball and carry it to the other side of the court, only to be caught by the other, and vice versa. BoBoiBoy kicked the ball and Yaya deflected it with a punch. The ball landing beside Ying feet.
Ying smiled and seized the opportunity, sprinting towards the goal at full speed, obviously not using her power. Boboiboy was a few centimeters behind; the lack of sleep was already getting to him.
Ying feinted, deceiving Gopal, and in a moment of inattention, Ying scored a goal. This happened just minutes before the end of the first half of their friendly match.
BoBoiBoy was left speechless after he saw the ball, Inside the goal. Seriously, Ying had beaten him.
Normally that wouldn't affect him, but after having the worst month of his life and barely sleeping, his emotions were somewhat out of control. He clenched his fists, and a faint flash of yellow lightning could be seen. But still, no one said anything, except for Gopal, of course.
"BoBoiBoy we need to win!! C'mon we won against Adu du robots and Fang back then remember!? This should be easier."
"Yes, you're right. Don't worry, you'll see we'll bounce back!"
BoBoiBoy said, feigning his usual personality, and biting his tongue to avoid saying things he probably shouldn't say out loud; frustration was already starting to get to him.
And after the other half, the winner was Gopal's team, as BoBoiBoy scored in the last second of the game, since they were tied.
"We won Boboiboy! I told you that Yaya and Ying weren't as good as us."
Gopal spoke without realizing how mad the girls were, not just because they lost, but because Gopal was being annoying about the matter. He was boasting, and that definitely didn't make them calm down and accept defeat.
Fang walked up to the group, his red eyes glancing towards BoBoiBoy who was in the floor as he was tying his shoelaces, which had come undone. Something was wrong; BoBoiBoy usually enjoyed soccer, but throughout the match he seemed to be fighting for his life.
"Alright, let's head back. Qually it's already waiting for us, in Gopal house. He made us some drinks."
Fang said, Yaya and Ying nodding eagerly because they were going to get to taste a new drink that Qually made. Gopal just hoped it wasn't like the ice cream he'd made before, inspired by Frostfire.
Gopal and BoBoiBoy still hate that ice cream flavor. How could they forget how spicy the red one was, made with the chili peppers they took from those birds, or the blue ice cream made from the salt they had to get for that cooking competition.
Or the time when Qually made rice but instead of rice grains, he used ants.
Let's hope this recipe it's a normal one.
