Chapter Text
The last person she tells is Annabeth. She should’ve been first, but Percy just kept putting it off for fear of damaging their relationship, even though she knew deep down Annabeth would love her, as well as being bisexual. So there really was nothing to be scared of. But she just couldn’t bring herself to add to the pile of baggage Annabeth already carried. When she finally does it, they are 21 years old, in the kitchen of their first apartment, washing dishes together.
“Tradition!” Percy thinks, and laughs silently before blurting it out before she can stop herself
“I’m a girl.”
Annabeth drops the plate she was holding into the sink and stays completely still for a moment.
“You mean it this time?”
Percy nods silently, unable to form a sentence as her heart beats in her throat.
Annabeth looks at her with more love and adoration than she ever thought possible and says in serious voice reserved for special occasions (usually going into battle)
“Thank you for telling me that, and before you start over thinking, this doesn’t change anything between us, I love the you on the inside.” She pokes Percy gently over her heart.
“Not the way you look or how other people perceive you, and this is who you’ve always been on the inside.” She smiles warmly, standing on her toes to wrap her arms around Percy’s neck, closing the gap between them.
Annabeth pulled away suddenly, “Wait so just so we’re clear, I should start introducing you as my girlfriend?”
Percy, apparently no longer interested in the conversation, kisses her again.
Annabeth pushes her back gently “Percy Im serious!” She giggles as Percy kisses down her neck.
“Uh yeah. I’m your girlfriend.” She whispers in between soft kisses. “And you can still call me Percy.”
“My girlfriend Percy,” Annabeth muses, smiling widely. “Has a nice ring to it!” She says, inches away from her now girlfriend’s mouth.
Percy fills the space between them, kissing her harder, and lifting her up onto the counter, the dishes now a lost cause.
