Chapter Text

Alastor, the well known radio demon sat at a very fancy restaurant. Well, as fancy as Hell could be. His leg bounced up and down with anxiety, an unusual thing he did. He was never nervous. Not as nervous as Lucifer was, anyways.
Alastor was wearing a red suit. A suit for a date. He was on a date. The word tasted funny on his tongue.

Alastor’s ears perked up at the sight of Lucifer poking his head through the doors of the restaurant, puffing out his chest to look the slightest bit more presentable while fixing his tie. Alastor couldn’t help but have a genuine smile at the awkward man.

“Hey! Sorry, Char needed some help back at home with some fliers for the hotel,” Lucifer muttered, sitting down at the table across from Alastor. He seemed like he had yo run to the restaurant.

Lucifer smiled at his figure.
“You look nice today,” Lucifer complimented.

“I always look nice,” Alastor said half teasingly. Lucifer just shrugged before the server came in, interrupting their conversation. The girl was a half human half horse type demon. Alastor grimaced at the thought, they are seriously letting a horse work at a diner? How unhygienic.
They placed their orders, the girl scurried away in a hurry.

Lucifer turned his attention back to Alastor.
“So, you picked the fanciest restaurant in pentagram city. Care to explain why?” Lucifer asked, a brow arched in anticipation for the explanation. He felt like they were getting somewhere in their relationship.

“Must a man be tormented for trying to be fancy?” Alastor replied.
“Well ‘must I’ be tormented for being curious?” Lucifer mocked the taller man. Alastor’s ear flicked in irritation. Though his smile widened ever so slightly.

The two got their meals. Alastor ordered a deer heart. Of course. Lucifer lost his appetite after one look at Alastor’s meal. He decided to get a to-go box and finish it later. They paid and left. And what I mean by paid, is Alastor threatened to take the soul of the server and left with the food for free after he got drunk off 4 bottles of wine. It was hard to get drunk in hell, they didn’t have the exact substances to make earth made wine. It took longer to get drunk.

The radio demon took the king to a park, sitting them on a bench.
“Did you have to completely demolish the restaurant staff?” Lucifer snorted.
Alastor shrugged.
“Am I not allowed to care for the king? You should get free food, no?” Alastor inquired.
Lucifer felt his face heat up at that. Alastor was still very clearly drunk.

The two went silent for a moment as they looked up at the red sky. It was dark from the night. The sky looked blood red, except for the portal to heaven’s realm.

“We should probably go back,” Lucifer muttered, standing up with a grunt. Alastor hummed, standing with him.
Lucifer turned to face the other man, pausing when he saw the look in the overlord’s eyes. The look wasn’t discomfort or boredom like they usually were. It was content, and something else that Lucifer couldn’t quite name..

Lucifer looked away, fighting the urge to completely step out of the other man’s boundaries and kiss the damn man.
“Thanks for… taking me out. It was really nice,” The king of hell tried to brake the tension.
Alastor didn’t know why, but he felt as if a kiss placed on Lucifer’s lips would be… Nice. He wasn’t even thinking about his own convenience. What was this man doing to him?

Without thinking, Alastor bent down slightly, placing his finger tip under Lucifer’s chin, tilting his head up. He placed his other hand against Lucifer’s lower back, pulling the shorter man closer to him.
Lucifer held his breath. He was the strongest being in the entire universe, minus God, yet he was also the weakest.

The two stared into each other’s eyes, anticipating the next move. Finally, Alastor took the chance, placing his lips against Lucifer’s.

Alastor prayed he was still drunk.

Notes:

Can you tell I’m terrible at writing romantic tension scenes? Kind of why I avoid them. Also, sorry, writing has been slow. My life is blowing up right in front of my face and I have adhd, so I suck at writing long stories (another reason why these chapters are so damn short.) Anyways, love you all!

I hope you liked this! I promise to post every week as long as this doesn’t flop. Have fun reading!
