Chapter Text
A purple streak tore through the air, grey eyes and tentacles erupting out of the trail as another body fell the to the ground, screaming in agony as they mercifully writhed into unconsciousness. Fang holstered his gun as he looked at the target in front of him, some casino owner, worth a pretty penny according to the bounty (posted for “rigged slots,” Fang disagreed with that, but not the paycheck they offered), otherwise not worth noting. “Real dangerous to stroll about without guards mate. Who’d you hire? The 4th rate’s?” Fang dryly remarked, the target cowering in the ruins of their office, the guards, desk scattered, and the door splintered in the ruins of this (admittedly) nice office. The target, too scared to give Fang a response that wasn’t whimpering or the word “please”, continued facing the floor with their eye’s screwed shut. Fang let out a sigh, idly spinning his gun, he was kinda disappointed this one had no fight in them, but that couldn’t bring his mood down. His work had come much easier ever since that expedition, more cash, more opportunities, more power, he’d beat his monthly earning record three months in a row, only issue was th- “you know I really should just shoot ya and say I got too excited, I’d still get paid for it.” Fang’s left eye glowed as he mused, the previously grey, now purple slit pupil dilating as it focused on the target of its hunger. His six shooter, warping as Dark Gaia mass congealed around the gun, reforming the weapon that had just put down the last guard in painful hysterics. Fang couldn't really call it a downside, whenever he needed to “feed” Dark Gaia, he’d just blast the most convenient target, usually someone easy to find on the job like guards, or isolated civilians in the dead of night, in alleyways, or under bridges. He had no qualms about it, something that initially shocked Dark Gaia when he blew 5 holes into that drongo tour guide in the dead of night with zero hesitation, but a characteristic Dark Gaia would cherish when it hadn’t gone hungry in months; its form replenished, characterized by a new purple glow instead of the previous grey. Fang pressed the barrel against the target’s head, he couldn’t kill them, it’d be bad business, and he’d already gotten a reputation hit for roughing up his last target to sate himself, but the fear was enough to keep both of them satisfied between meals. Before the target could respond to the threat coherently, another unit of guards appeared in the hallway, weapons ready. Fang smiled, “watch this” he mouthed to the target, who stared now bewildered at Fang, what was his issue? In a flash, 6 guards were shot before they could react or even speak of a threat to the Gunslinger, Purple streaks piercing the wall behind their heads instantly as they fell to their knees silent, their bodies twitching involuntarily as Dark Gaia feasted. The elevator dinged, and a new set of guards stepped out to save their client. Fang was bored, and wanted to get this over with so he could spend the bounty on important things, like more Marvelous Queen upgrades. “Let’s get to it then!” Slapping cuffs on the target, Fang leaped out the window with the target, a hail of bullets racing into the sky above him as Fang dove with his screaming paycheck toward the waiting Marvelous Queen. As he sped into the distance, Fang cackled, he’d fallen headfirst into recruiting the best mook of his career, and he was more than willing to scratch its back when the time was ripe for fhe plan it kept rambling about; as long as he kept getting paid with days like these, and that his days ended with Fleet Feet in a lower place than him.
