"Am I right, Pure Vanilla Cookie?"
Everyone in the room turned their heads towards Pure Vanilla Cookie, Hollyberry Cookie wide-eyed. Pure Vanilla Cookie didn't say a word, oh witches please take him now.
"..." Nothing came out of his mouth, the grip on his staff tight as his knuckles turned white. "You knew it all along, did you not?" Clotted Cream Cookie asked, eyes full of nothing but resentment.
Pure Vanilla Cookie felt his eyes go glossy. "...I beg for your forgiveness, my dearest friends. I... I should've told you sooner." He uttered out, almost stuttering. All the cookies aside from Clotted Cream Cookie was left with a bombshell, the smirk on Clotted Cream Cookie's face gone.
"I told you that the other two others, Golden Cheese Cookie and White Lily Cookie, refused to come. But, I was dishonest. White Lily Cookie is not coming because... she IS Dark Enchantress Cookie." Pure Vanilla Cookie explained, body trembling slightly.
Pure Vanilla Cookie felt a lump in his throat, swallowing it down. "I planned to tell you the truth, I did! Yet... I could not muster up the courage to tell you." Dark Cacao Cookie probably couldn't look at Pure Vanilla Cookie the same way anymore.
He couldn't even look up at Pure Vanilla Cookie. "How could this be...?" he thought in his head.
"What this cookie says is right. The soul jam is too dangerous in our hands alone. I... I could not do anything to prevent this tragedy. Even tho I was the only one who could..."
The words were stuck in Pure Vanilla Cookie's throat, it was choking him tightly, almost to death. He paused, hesitating to even finish for what he was gonna say.
Pure Vanilla Cookie continued to speak. "...White Lily Cookie desired strength to achieve her goals, now I understand it was inevitable that she became Dark Enchantress Cookie." He added, backing up Clotted Cream Cookie's words.
Pure Vanilla Cookie wanted to seem reasonable, on why to let the republic help them alongside.
"There are many ways to protect to protect what is dear to us. Sometimes, when one's own efforts are not enough, it is only natural to ask for help." Dark Cacao Cookie's eyes showed nothing, he was hollow.
The eye of the sunflower staff was shut tightly as Pure Vanilla Cookie spoke, as if it was showing emotions of their own.
"I am so s-sorry, my friends. I did not want to learn the truth this way. I am truly sorry..." Pure Vanilla Cookie stuttered, apologising profusely. "So... he was telling the truth..?!" Hollyberry Cookie was flabbergasted.
Dark Cacao Cookie's breathing was hitched, his chest rising up and down. Sure, he didn't have a chance with White Lily Cookie with Pure Vanilla Cookie around, but it didn't change the fact he still held her dear like a few cookies.
Hollyberry Cookie turned her head slightly to Dark Cacao Cookie.
"She didn't like you, but I did. You just couldn't see it."
Hollyberry Cookie was the 'tough' one. She shouldn't be heavily affected like this. But she just really wished Dark Cacao Cookie could tell if someone had feelings for him once. His heart is just ice, isn't it?
It was getting to her, way too deeply.
"...I can't believe I just heard this from a complete stranger!" Hollyberry Cookie exclaimed, her fists clenched. Her words cut through Pure Vanilla Cookie, witches just take him already.
Hollyberry Cookie wanted to rip her heart out and throw it in a bin, fuck these cookies, fuck every kingdom, fuck earthbread. She couldn't even feel herself get over this anymore.
Hollyberry Cookie grabbed Pure Vanilla Cookie by the collar. 'You... You are just like White Lily Cookie, you know that?!" She yelled, Pure Vanilla Cookie escaping from her grasp.
"You always said how important our friendship was... but all this time, you kept us in the dark!" She wasn't gonna let go of this so easily, not when the truth was already in her grasp. "Of all cookies, Dark Cacao Cookie and I were the last to know!"
Dark Cacao Cookie stared at Hollyberry Cookie, then Pure Vanilla Cookie...
"Perhaps, since the very beginning... you never thought of us as your peers." Dark Cacao Cookie uttered. "I see no more reason to remain here. Fighting together requires trust. Despite the rebuilding of this kingdom, I see that trust still remains in ruins."
Dark Cacao Cookie dragged his sword across the floor, leaving the room entirely, the door closed with a bang. Hollyberry Cookie, Pure Vanilla Cookie, and Clotted Cream was silent for a few seconds.
Hollyberry Cookie approached the door, turning back to the other two cookies left. "...I need some time to think." she stated before leaving the room.
Pure Vanilla Cookie tried to stop Hollyberry Cookie, but stopped after she has already left. "Dark Cacao Cookie, Hollyberry Cookie..." GingerBrave didn't know what to do, frozen there in silence.
"Oh dear..."
