Tiana wiped sweat from her brow and gazed out the window of Dukes as she picked up some more dirty dishes from off the tables. The sun had set a little while ago, and the Cafes last customer had walked out not too long after that with Buford following them out.
This left Tiana to clean and close up shop, which any other day would have been fine by Tiana, but now was a terrifying thought after her and Naveen's encounter with the shadow man just a few hours prior. Speaking of the prince, due to Naveen's non-stop complaining about being stuck inside her pocket, Tiana had placed him on the countertop behind her the tip jar where he still sat, watching and waiting for Tiana to finish up.Naveen quickly realized that there wasn’t much to do as a frog so he entertained himself by watching the waitress work. So, Having spent several hours watching Tiana work nonstop, attending to customers, and noticing as she declined several opportunities for a break, invitations to fun events, and advances from LOTS of men(which he hated to admit made him a little jealous..), he came to an epiphany.
“You know waitress, I've discovered what your problem is.” Naveen said, stretching his arms out (or trying his best to). Tiana rolled her eyes as she walked over to the kitchen sink and began scrubbing the food off the many dishes left. “Have you now? And what do you, Prince know it all, suppose my “problem” is? Naveen rolled onto his back resting his webbed hands behind his head, trying to find a comfortable position to rest in. “You do not know how to have fun. Hah!” Tiana, who had begun to scrub the dishes more aggressively glared at the frog. “Oh really? Because I discovered what your problem is!” Naveen hopped up and turned his body toward the waitress smiling that smug smile of his. “I’m… too handsome-" Naveen croaked in surprise as Tiana flung the soap covered sponge at him,smirking at the image of her sponge making contact with the frog, completely knocking him over onto his back. “Are you insane?!? That sponge could have killed me!!” Naveen exclaimed. “Serves you right, you entitlted,lousy,lazy bum on the log! You got some nerve talkin after all the times Ive had to keep saving you're sorry behind! Which I’d like to add I didn’t not want to do in the first place considering I WAS FORCED TO TAKE YOU FROM LOTTIES HOUSE!” Tiana huffed, staring daggers into the frog and angrily going back to scrubbing dishes.
Ashidanza, this woman drives me mad… But She's got a point… I hadn't even thanked her earlier and I still keep treating her unprince like. If I can’t even be bothered to get along with the waitress- I mean Tiana, then I’ll be doomed to be F-frog. *mental shudder* Gods!! What am I doing shes got me again!!! Why is she always…RIGHT!! I’ve never met such an annoyingly stubborn and intelligent woman in my life!…It’s so…INFURIATING.
“*sigh* I-I’m sorry for treating you so poorly, I honestly don't deserve any of the kindness you have shown me.” Intrigued, Tiana stopped scrubbing the dishes and looked up at the Frog eyes full of curiosity. “Go on…” “I have a proposal to make it up to you waitr- Ms. Tiana.” Naveen hopped closer to Tiana, settling on the edge of the sink . “I don't know exactly what happened to me, or how to fix it, but the best bet I have is to get a kiss from Ms Charlotte Laboouff. And if what you say is true..about you not being a princess, that means there's still hope for me to turn human, and I have a feeling that ALSO means you need money…for your restaurant??” Tiana bit her lip at the mention of this but remained quiet in order to hear out Naveen. “ Now if you help me woo Ms Charlotte, enough so she will kiss me, I will marry her, and once I’m human I may grant you the money you need to obtain your restaurant, it is… how you say…a win win eh..?” Naveen nervously watched Tiana as she wrung her fingers and began to pace back and forth.
While I don't like taking handouts, those fenner brothers had said I’d need to top the offer by Wednesday , and it technically wouldn't be a hand out. It would be me doing work and helping someone out..! But what about Lottie? I can't do that to her… But she also kinda just wanted to become a princess which I don't think has anything to do with actually LOVING the prince she marries…oh dear… Naveen patiently sat there watching as Tiana worked through her moral dilemma. Finally after some moments of silence where Naveen began to worry she might say no, Tiana smiled and stuck a finger out to the frog. “You got yourself a deal.” The pair shook hands and remained in a content silence for the rest of the night.
