Frankie's hand fell on his phone's snooze button as he woke up, however unable to shut the alarm off. He sat up straight and properly grabbed his phone this time, taking a look at the alarm before actually shutting it off. It'd been a while since he had had to wake up early, since it had been summer break until today. He got up from his bed and got dressed into a pair of school appropriate clothes, a hoodie for the chilly weather and jeans, before going down to get something to eat. Leaving his room he saw his dad putting on his makeup before going to work.
"Good morning, buddy," Glamrock Freddy said halfmindedly to Frankie, keeping his eyes on the mirror, careful not to mess up his makeup. Even though he had been doing his own Glamrock makeup for a while now he did still struggle with getting all the lines straight. After all, Roxanne used to do his makeup for him before...
"Morning, dad" Frankie replied. Glamrock Freddy stayed silent for a moment before raising the makeup brush from his face to properly look at his son and smiling. "You were planning on walking to school today, right?" He asked. "I could still drop you off on my way to work, though"
"Nah, I can walk" He said as he went downstairs to grab something to eat. He typically didn't like having breakfast this early so he'd usually get something he could eat on the way or sometime later at school instead. Looking through the fridge the bear-wolf eventually landed on an apple and granola bar for his breakfast. He chucked the two into his hoodie's pocket before saying bye to his dad and starting his way to school.
The sun was low behind a few buildings, a few bits of light peeking out from behind them. Sunrise gave the sky a nice gradient of pinks, oranges and a dash of blue. A few leaves of nearby trees were housing a few raindrops, presumably left from the rain last night. The weather was relatively warm, but not anything like the scorching heat of summer. The school wasn't too far away from Frankie's home, so he would walk there more often than not. He'd usually listen to music when he was walking somewhere, but he decided he preferred the silence today. Deciding that eating whole walking instead was a better idea, Figuring the apple would be better cold, Frankie pulled it out of his pocket and took a crunchy bite out of it.
It didn't take him long to get to school. He found his shelf and placed his backpack in it, since the first lesson today today was in the auditorium where the principle and a few teachers would give a speech about stuff that was different this year, a rundown of new rules if there were any, stuff like that. They would also get handed their timetables afterwards. He had never actually been to one of these since he wasn't at this school, or any school really, until last year after the start school year; but he had heard what these were from Gregory.
Walking through the halls his eyes caught a locker little with Sharpie scribbles. He paused. Gregory's locker... Turns out it was school tradition if someone was gone for a long while, to write small messages to them on their locker for when (or if) they come back. Would Gregory ever get to see those messages...
Frankie snapped back to reality realizing that he was standing in the hallway a little too long and went on with his way to the auditorium. It had been a few weeks since the talk he had with his dad, after the Mimic Virus. His dad had promised him that he'd have him more involved in their search for Roxanne, Gregory and Baby. And he did try, but there really wasn't much to fill him in on. There were practically no leads that they could follow, and any that they did often lead nowhere. Most people said that knowing the problem was halfway to the solution, but that wasn't the case here. They new that the others were trapped in another dimension, one very far away from theirs -which was a weird concept for Frankie already, how could dimensions be far away from each other, could they measure the distance between dimensions, or was it more of an analogy? Frankie didn't know, and that bugged him more than he'd like to admit, not knowing how something worked was really annoying to him, after all he was a "smart kid" he should've been able to figure out things like this.
Finally arriving at the auditorium, Frankie found an empty seat away from most people and sat down. Normally the auditorium couldn't fit everyone I their grade, causing most people to sit on the stairs between the seats, and for the place to be generally cramped. But it was the first day back from summer vacation, which meant most people were not back from vacation or fell asleep, so the place wasn't all too full. Frankie sat down and unwrapped the granola bar and broke off a price to throw in his mouth. Food wasn't really allowed in the auditorium, but most teacher didn't really care as long as you weren't bringing anything crazy.
