Chapter Text
February 26th, today was THE day, the day hundreds of Japans teenagers would compete in a test for survival of the fittest.
Thousands of people, 40 spots.
40. Damn. Spots. Hime was sure at least 100 or so people would cheat, not that they'd get in anyways but the point still stood.
These people were DESPERATE, and they'd do anything to win...
But Hime WASN'T going to cheat not in a million years, Hime would rather hand herself by her own damn intestines than use dirty tactics to become a hero.
...
Perhaps Hime was being a smidge overdramatic, oh who was she kidding Hime was perfectly well in the line of right. But back to reality; Her and izu moved in perfect sync around the house that morning, they moved around the living room and stairs, getting their shoes, duffel bags and preparing lunch-
That part was only applicable to hime though, seeing that Inko thought it was perfectly reasonable as a mother to only prepare food for one child when she had TWO.
She exhaled, one breath in, one breath out.
Hime was okay because she'd PREPARED for this, just like everything else for today.
"Breakfast is ready!" Inko's voice was heard from the kitchen, Hime fixed her red bow and took her bag downstairs, she pivoted on the kitchens door frame while using her socks to slide expecting only Inko to be there.
Huh, izu was early.
She took her place at the table, momentarily perplexed that Inko had made food for her too, well she couldn't blame her, she had two kids going to THE UA, albeit both being quirkless.
Izuku dug into his food like a starved animal and Hime just stood there, "izu, calm down, no one's going to take your damn food." He didn't look up from the bowl while speaking.
"Gotta get energy for the day Hime, only 40 spots- gotta get one!" He exclaimed in-between bites.
She sighed while taking a few bites of her own food, 'only slightly burnt ,not too bad.'
"Well don't come crying when you throw up during the exam"
Izu stopped in tracks, he froze like a statue, "yea, may-maybe you're right."
By the time both twins were done with breakfast it was time to go, Hime picked up her black duffel bag that was decorated with charms and all sorts of patches and headed straight for the door.
'knowing Inko, she'll probably keep Izuku behind to smother him some more.'
Hime was right of course, adding even more time anxiety to the absolute yarn ball of nerves and impatience that was growing in her chest.
She stood outside leaning against the wall with her foot thumping on the ground like a rabbit would.
"-and please baby don't get hurt-" Inko tearfully asked her son, he responded just as nervously as Hime felt, "I promise mom-i love you-but we gotta go, love-ya-bye!"
He waved her off and joined Hime, "oh Kami I'm such a wreck right now!"
Hime clapped her hand on his shoulder, "we all are izu, there's quite literally thousands of people-"
"WAAHH don't remind me!!" He slapped a hand over her mouth in an attempt to shut her up but Hime only giggled anxiously.
The rest of the walk went somewhat like that until they reached an- no joke- almost 6 metre tall gate (European measurements because wtf do u mean feet?)
The twins halted right there and then in front of the gate, Izuku reacted first, his jaw dropped to the floor, "is- is this suppose to be an intimi- intimidation tactic?" His voice cracked while speaking, "cus if it is then it totally isn't working..." His voice slowly got quieter.
But Hime gave a nod, "yes it does seem so... But it's probably also for students with mutation quirks and to maintain the status of the school."
Izuku shook his head wearily and gripped onto himes hand, "let's go. We're going to do this, and we're going to pass."
Hime glanced at izu, "together?" She asked.
Izu rose their hands slightly, "together."
