It was late at night that day when she decided to test her luck; Majestic stalked on invisible claws to Venus’ home. Light rain dusted her snout as she moved closer. She could see Calla Lily through the window, making food using a tiny strand of flamesilk to cook whatever it was.
Majestic felt a tiny pang of longing for her own mother, but she stomped on her own talons and fought away any feelings of guilt. She glanced down at her glowing wrists.
No, don’t back out of it, Majestic, She chastised herself. Remember, this is for Mother.
She bit her lip to keep from crying out in pain as blaze silk slithered out onto her palm. She made sure to create more just in case one wasn’t enough. She took a deep breath and dropped the blaze silk onto the house.
It immediately burst into flames and Majestic beat her wings once, twice, to keep out of the fire. She watched as all the dragons living in Renewal ran out to see the commotion.
Majestic locked eyes with Venus and flew away.
