The sun rose as it always does, Dark cinnamon and Chili pepper are still cuddling in bed fast asleep, White lily opens the door to their room to wake them up
“Good morning-” she looks down to see them both hugging each other tightly, she chuckles. “I guess it's an especially good morning for you two.”
The both of them, still in bed, slightly wake up half asleep. Cin glances at White lily only to realise the situation she is in as she blushes and buries her head in Chili’s chest, only intensifying the embarrassment felt. Chili smiles as she hugs Cin even tighter and takes a quick look at White lily.
“Five more minutes” she says as White lily laughs softly at the situation she walked in on.
“Okay, okay, five more minutes. But no more than that, we got a long day ahead of us.”
White lily then leaves the room and closes the door behind her, leaving the couple to themselves.
“Did you sleep well last night?” Chili asks as Cin’s face is still buried inside her.
“Nmmn” Cin responds
“Another nightmare?”
“Mmhm”
Chili saddens before realising something and chuckles.
“It got better because I slept with you didn’t it?”
Cin slightly jolts, becoming extremely embarrassed, practically caving her face in as Chili laughs immensely.
“Okay, I get it, you can get off now!”
Chili practically pries her off as she is now looking directly at Cin’s utterly flustered face, she smiles as she grabs a strand of Cin’s hair and twirls it. Cin’s breath hitched as she blushed but cracked a smile, enjoying her company, Chili lightly kissed Cin’s neck, and though embarrassed, Cin gave a soft laugh, as Chili laughed.
“You’re so cute when you’re embarrassed, you know that?”
The both of them change into their casual outfits and walk into the living room, greeting everyone else. Pure Vanilla is sitting at the dining table, writing a few letters. Chili walked over and leaned closer to him to get a better look at what he was writing.
“What yah writing?” Chili asked
“A couple of letters, I need to tell the rest of the ancients about what went on in the faerie kingdom. Shadow milk and the rest of the beasts’ awakening does…. Complicate things”
Chili chuckled as Cin looked over at the two of them, intrigued by the conversation.
“How many are left?” She asked
“Just this one, I just need to finish writing to Dark Cacao cookie-”
“Of the Dark Cacao kingdom!?” Cin jolted up
“Yeah, why’d you ask?”
Cin paused for a minute “That’s where I’m from.”
“What!?” the whole table said in unison, there is a slight pause for a moment
“What, is that a big deal?”
“You rarely talk about your past, babe” Chili added
“Neither do you” Cin jokingly responded, giving Chili a slight jab to the side “But yeah, my name is Dark Cinnamon, after all. I don’t really know who my birth parents were, but I was taken in by a young couple living in the kingdom. I trained in fighting for a bit there before setting off to travel on my own as a hunter. I wonder how Caramel Arrow is doing now…”
“Sounds nice” Chili responded “better than my situation” Chili muttered as she slightly scoffed in disgust.
“What do you-”
“Alright” Pure Vanilla stood up “me and White Lily are going to be out of town for a bit to go through some scrolls in search of the beast binding ritual, Wizard cookie will be in charge while I’m gone-”
Chili stood up, offended “Are you kidding? Why not us?”
“Yeah we’re adults” Cin added
“And who are the only members of the party with criminal history”
“Uhhh….” Chili Pepper and Dark Cinnamon both darted their eyes away and shuffled awkwardly. Pure Vanilla had a point. With Chili being a top bandit, being responsible for multiple burglaries, and Cin Aiding and Abetting and also being responsible for aggravated assault to get Chili out of situations, though they were a good crime duo, they probably shouldn’t look after a pair of children for more than five minutes. Hell, five minutes is a stretch, Chili will probably be teaching them tax evasion. So they both kept quiet.
White Lily chuckled “We’re gonna get going now, be careful everyone!” White Lily gave a cheerful wave and Pure Vanilla followed suit as they both walked off.
“Goodbye you two” everyone said in unison as they left. Wizard cookie tugged over a nearby stool and stood on it.
“Alright, now that I have everyone’s attention. Since Pure Vanilla put me in charge-” Chili pepper threw a pillow at Wizard cookie’s face.
“Yeah scratch that, hell if I’m listening to a toddler-”
“I’M FOURTEEN!!!”
“-either way, Cin, wanna cause chaos?” Chili looked at her mischievously as Cin smiled back
“You read my mind.” Cin grabbed a couple of pillows “PILLOW FIGHT!!!”
Well, yeah. Not even a minute after Pure Vanilla left, the house became covered in pillows and blankets that were half-hazardly thrown about. Cin and Chili stole some of the couch cushions and they constructed a pillow fort with them. Gingerbrave and Strawberry tried to take it down but Chili always snuck up behind them and threw pillows in their faces causing them to run away. Cin was watching the situation from afar, chuckling.
Eventually they were chased out of their own fort, as Cin was bolting down the hall as Chili was behind her, swiping pillows from side to side. Then, Cin stopped in her tracks when she caught eye on a piano in the hallway.
“Chili wait a sec,” Cin sat down on the chair and placed her hands on the keyboard and played a chord, then another, then she closed her eyes as her hand subconsciously played a song she memorised by heart. Chili was impressed and slightly enthralled by the pianist's sudden ability. She slowly walked over to her and moved a nearby chair so she could sit down next to her. Chili closed her eyes and leaned on Cin’s shoulder, as Cin continued playing.
“You never mentioned you could play piano before.”
“You’re right, I never did. When I was younger, my parents signed me up for piano lessons and I took a liking to it. I actually memorised this song from one of the demo songs on the piano I used at the place. In fact this piano is actually quite similar to it- wait…”
Cin immediately paused playing as she looked over to the demo button and went through the songs. Eventually the piano played the song she was performing and Cin shot up.
“OH EM GEE IT’S STILL HERE!!!!” Cin got up and started dancing to the song, giggling and kicking her feet in the air. Chili was taken off guard at this swift change and laughed as she stood up and walked over to Cin, extending her hand out.
“May I take this dance?”
Dark Cinnamon’s face lit up as she grabbed Chili Pepper’s hand as the two of them started dancing with attempted synchronisation. It was, albeit, messy, but it was theirs. They laughed and had a fun time, as all the tension from the previous day seemed to die down. The others caught wind of what was happening and decided to put an end to the pillow war and dance and laugh together. Chili cupped Cin’s cheek, their lips connected as they both kissed. Chili let out a slight laugh as Cin blushed but smiled and let out a chuckle. It was a fun time. Until they heard a familiar voice.
“Chili Pepper Cookie, Dark Cinnamon Cookie. Care to explain?”
Everyone looked over to Pure Vanilla and White Lily Cookie returning.
“Crap…”
“Oh uh… you’re back early.”

An 18 year old Chili Pepper Cookie was stuffing her belongings in her bag as her brother, Red Pepper Cookie entered the room.
“So, you finally lost it huh?”
“Ugh! Shut up, red! If you dare tell mother or father any of this, I will-”
“Save it, take care, Chili.”
“W-wha?”
Red darted his eyes across the room, slightly sweating nervously.
“I’ll… try to think of an excuse for you, try not to get yourself killed out there.”
Chili scoffed, “That’s gonna be hard trying to be the highest wanted bandit in Crispia.”
Red sputtered “You’re actually gonna go through with that!? My dough, I thought you were joking. Chili you’re insane.”
Chili barked out laughing “Yeah, I know I am. And red?” Chili hugged Red Pepper “Thanks for covering for me, you’re awesome.”
Red hugged back “Yeah, you’re welcome. Just try to at least send me a postcard.”
Chili winced “Yeah, I’ll try.”
