Chapter Text
"Literally," Namjoon starts, "literally what did I say two days ago, guys? I told you to fucking pack early so we don't have to do this!" He looks at Taehyung, who is busy stuffing two jackets and a beret in a duffel bag. "Is this the first time we're doing this? Are we suddenly trainees again? Life is too short to be this irresponsible."
Jung Kook has just finished tying the laces in one of his boots before realizing that he's wearing a different one on the right foot. He groans and starts unlacing the other.
Yoongi is sitting on the counter, laughing quietly as he watched Namjoon massage the bridge of his nose. He quietly thanks himself for refusing the position of the leader when it was first brought up to them by Bang PD years ago.
Manager Hobeom opens the front door and enters. "I'm gonna need you guys in the car in five minutes," he announces, then looks at Seokjin, who is standing by the door, adjusting the straps of his backpack. "How's your arm?" the manager asks.
Seokjin smiles and gives him a thumbs up. "All good, hyung-nim." Hobeom nods and walks out.
Namjoon calls on to the other four, as if shouting at them will actually make them move faster, and holds the door open. "Go, go, go!" he says as Taehyung, Jimin, Jung Kook, and Hoseok parade out the door.
"Come on, Yoongi hyung, Jin hyung," Namjoon says.
Seokjin nods and holds the door for him. "Go ahead, we'll do a final check of the electricity - the kids may have left something plugged in - and then lock the door for you, dear leader."
"Finally," Namjoon sighs, "someone in this group is thinking about me. Be downstairs in two minutes." He finally walks out.
"Check the bathrooms and the kitchen, I'll go check the rooms," Seokjin tells Yoongi, beaming at him. The younger hops off the counter and over-enthusiastically checks all electric sockets in his assigned area. When he gets back to the living room Seokjin is already waiting, fiddling with the lock of the front door.
"What are you doing?" Yoongi asks, his hands traveling to Seokjin’s waist.
"Oh," Seokjin says as he removed his hands from the door. "Just making sure the digital lock works. Let's go?" He offers his hand to Yoongi, smiling warmly. Outside, the sun is about to rise from the horizon, enveloping their dorm living room in a soft orange light.
Yoongi takes Seokjin's warm, welcoming hand, intertwining his fingers with the other’s, and returns the smile. A week ago he watched Seokjin disappear behind the very same door, leaving his chest filled with longing.
This time they're going out together, and Yoongi's heart is fuller than ever.
