Chapter Text
Alastor finds himself in a predicament.
It’s not the first time he has faced such things. It is so laughably common that a fair amount of them become easy to handle. But this…
First he has to deal with the knowledge that he was willing to fight for a Hotel that he doesn’t care for. That because of his stupid Deal, he had to. And what did he get? Himself almost being cleaved by that insolent bird who dared to break his staff. Alastor very much regrets not landing the final blow, though now knowing Nifty did ease some of it. Now, he’s in a new Hotel that had been built without him and Ruth- in a new tower that he is reworking to suit his needs. He’s gotten careless. Sloppy. A voice whispers in his head, mocking and jeering. He winces as he examines the wound on his chest. Shit. He sighs, due to the Angelic nature of it, he has no doubt it will be a long time before he can completely heal it. That is fine, he can handle pain.
His shadow returns to his side. The fawn is secured. Alastor simply nods. Good, now he can distance himself. Truly he has grown lax in his behaviour, and he can’t afford to have weakness to exploit. Not now, not ever. He glares at his broken staff. Clearly I need to have a chat with Her. Let the others take care of her, she will survive and adapt. Alastor needs to remind everyone that he is not some snivelling deer.
It’s time to remind everyone WHO the RADIO DEMON is.
Vox hums as he watches the monitors. On it, the video of the battle is playing. There are plenty that are replaying Alastor’s humiliating defeat, and he still chuckles every time he sees it. “Hmm…” His eyes focus on a new target. The drones were some of his better creations, easy to produce and make. And his personal drones were all outfitted with the best of Voxtek. But even that doesn’t help with the glitching screen.
He raises a hand to a floating screen, pausing it. On it is the person who destroyed some of his drones months ago. A glitching figure, with red glowing eyes. The wings were new, as was the faint outline of the Exorcist outfit. Covered in gold blood, it’s like the only thing given form to the shadowy mass of glitches.
“What are you?” He wonders. The only person who can evade his sight is Alastor-cause of course he can. But he’s been the only person to. Nothing is hidden for Vox, and if it was, it never is for long. So for this newbie to have such an ability, such a specific type too…His eyebrows furrow.
He raises his hand as he replays the Princess’ first interview with Katie.
“W-Well we have a patron already. Two patrons in fact!” The Princess retorts back. “These two patrons believe in our cause and have shown incredible progress!”
“Ok, you have to be lying.” Killjoy says in a cruel manner. “One I can barely believe, but two?”
“Yeah, it seems a little hard to believe without proof.” The man in the trench mask says.
“Shut it Tom.” Killjoy spits out.
“Well one of our patrons is actually a new sinner who only arrived here about a month ago.”
Vox laughs. “Well, well. Looks like I should pay a visit.” He will see what information he can dig about them. For now, he’ll wait.
“Did you hear? Adam’s dead!” A whisper in the streets starts. Only ever in whispers as eyes avoid the Head Seraphim’s gaze.
“Does that mean they did it? They won’t kill anymore Sinners?” Another whispers.
“My brother likely fought like Hell against those fuckers.” Molly would say, when asked in discreet whispers. “But you hear it? The Snake made it up to Heaven! That means Redemption is possible!”
Silence would fall every time someone in a grey uniform passes by.
“Whose’ gonna lead them now?”
“Better not be anyone like Adam?”
“Whose in charge now?”
“Is it Emily?”
“Redemption is possible?”
“What are they gonna do now?”
A woman smiles, sipping her coffee. “Hmm…Seems like my daughter has ruffled a few feathers then.” She puts down her cup, getting up. “Good. I can’t wait to see how much stronger she gets.”
She fades into the crowd, her silver eyes full of twisted delight. “Don’t worry sweetie. Mommy will see you very soon~”
