Chapter 3: Landfall to the Faerie Kingdom

Summary:

A short chapter on how they travel from Crispia to Beast Yeast, but first settling in the Faerie Kingdom.

Chapter Text

The ancient cookies told the soldiers of their respective kingdoms that they'll be leaving for Beast Yeast. The cookie kingdom's situation still ended up similar as yesterday, less pranks and jokes that troubled the cookies, but harmless nonetheless.

They finally left the kingdom in the early morning, drifting in a sturdy candy boat towards Beast Yeast.

Dark Cacao stared at the sky, determined  and scared at the thought of his son in that dangerous place. He wonders about his son's well-being, as he mentally prepared himself, should he ever see him again.

The golden cookie flew near him, "What a solemn look you have, thinking about your son?"

"...I am."

"Well worry not. We'll be reaching the continent soon, it's not too far now from here as what Hollyberry had said." She smirked and sighed, "You will see him soon! And you will treasure him so. But for now, we shall wait until we land."

Dark Cacao closed his eyes, "Yes for now we must focus on the present, on the fact that even though our goal is the land of barren, we shall make a stop at the faerie kingdom for assistance. We will need to prepare before we see-"

"WE'VE REACHED IT!" A loud, booming shout came from the deck, definitely Hollyberry cookie.

Golden Cheese grinned "Look at that, time does go by fast huh? Let's go!" She bumped her fist with his shoulder, and flew towards the others, leaving the dark cookie sighing and following suit.

Before then laid land that looked ethereal in comparison to Crispia. Though the trees looked similar and the grass is still green, it was surrounded by a grey, misty fog that made it look mysterious for a regular forest.

White Lily smiled at the sight, "It's still the same as before... Don't worry, I know the way to the kingdom, let's first dock the ship and prepare to land." And so they settled by the seaside entering the forest.

"Heave ho!" Hollyberry's booming voice echoed as she landed on the shore, "I will be waiting! Take your time!" She beamed.

"Greedy as ever for adventure!" The golden cookie flew over Hollyberry to join her, leaving the other three.

Pure Vanilla smiled, "With the way that they act, they seem so young and lively!" White Lily nodded in response.

"Indeed. I must thank the captain for bringing us here safely!" She remarked while clutching her staff. She stared at the dark cookie staring at the land and walked towards him.

"Are you alright?" She asked.

"Ah, I'm simply... thinking... What to do, and say, should I meet my son again."

White Lily bore her eyes in the direction he looked at, "The right words will come in the right time. You will know, I promise."

A second of silence waved over them before Pure Vanilla Cookie came over. "Everything is prepared now, shall we leave?"

The gruff cookie hummed "If there is nothing left to take, then let's leave."

The three cookies went down the boat and joined the two cookies chatting by the shore. Soon, they started walking through the forest, following White Lily Cookie to the hidden Faerie Kingdom.

They walked for what seemed like hours, and occasionally fending themselves from Yeast Spores. A voice soon stood up in front of them.

"Who goes there?! State your purpose!" The voice chimed through the area.

"Silverbell Cookie! Don't worry, It's me, White Lily Cookie. I came along with the other ancients, and we wish to stay in the kindgom for a while!.."

"Ah! White Lily Cookie!" Silverbell put down his bow, "It's been a while since we last saw you!"

"Indeed, though I only left for a meeting.." She chuckled.

"My apologies! You all may enter." They all followed the winged faerie towards the thick mist, and on the other side came out a kingdom, grandiose and wonderful as ever.

The Golden cookie perked up. "Ah! What a lovely kingdom. I desire to enjoy everything there is to do in this place!"

The silver cookie chuckled softly as he let the cookies through, "Make yourself at home your majesties! I must go back to guarding the place!"

"We will, thank you Silverbell Cookie." White Lily bowed the cookie before they left. She then looked at her friends. "We all could settle temporarily at my place! It's not too far from here."

"Then there we shall stay!" Hollyberry laughed. "Though it would be great to start immediately, it wouldn't harm to rest for a while before we investigate!"

"Indeed, we should gather information.. and rest before we venture out." The dark cookie added."

The five cookies talked happily on the way to White Lily's home. She introduced them to the kingdom's decor and shine, until they reached her home. They all entered with relief and joy in their dough.

Unaware of the dull red eyes watching their very move
