Chapter Text
Follow me." Nighmare said, waving his hand for the two to follow him.
They looked at each other then back at Nightmare, cautiously following behind him and his group. Nightmare opened a portal and walked in. His group were behind the two, so they had no choice but to go in as well.
After walking in, they were met with a huge castle, stretching across a big plains. It looked very dark and moody, like something from a horror film.
"Wow. Nice deco I guess." Captain said looking a bit concerned, he leaned over to Scales. "Scales. We are soooo fucked." He whispered. Scales looked at him with a little hope in his eyes.
He looked like he was going to say something but is cut off by Nightmare speaking.
"We are here. Come inside." He said as he opened the door for everyone.
The two newbies walked in first, and were amazed by how cozy the place looked. Book shelfs everywhere, cozy couches and chairs, frames with pictures of the group as a family, some even including Error. They had a TV that looked pretty big, and there were cats. Lot's of cats.
"Holy hell." Scales said smiling, while Captain's eyes were locked on a small kitten.
"KITTY!" Damn not only is he built like Caseoh, he also talks like him. The silence that followed that was deafening, and a flustered purple blush appeared on his face. "Ahem. My fault, my fault..." He mumbled.
There was snickering through out the room, causing his face to turn the colour of an eggplant.
"So much for that nonchalant persona now huh?" Scales said giggling.
"Oh shut up lizard!" The demon shouted, his goat-like ears flattened against his head.
"Sure thing, cat boy." Scales said still giggling.
"I AM NOT A CAT!" Captain was now extremely pissed.
"Yeah but ya sure as hell purr like one!" Captain was about to strangle Scales before one of the Sans' piped up.
"Jeez get a room already~!" He said in a zesty as hell tone, it was the one with goop coming out of his eyes.
"Says the gay fuck." Captain said rolling his eyes.
"Takes one to know one~" He said.
"Fuck you." The demon glared at the iris'less eyes.
"Killer. Lay off." Another Sans said walking to the goopy eyed skeleton, this one wearing monochrome clothing.
"Whatever crossy!" The goopy eyed skeleton, now known as Killer said before walking off.
"Ignore him, he's a dick to all the new members." The black and white Sans said.
"We aren't new members...?" Captain was now confused.
"Eh you think you aren't new members, but I promise you, you'll change your mind soon enough." He chuckled, "The names Cross by the way. The asshole who spoke to you before is Killer, the one with his hood up is Dust, and the one with the hole in his skull is Horror. Oh and I'm sure you know Nightmare by now."
"Wha- Huh???" Captain looked at Scales for answers. "The hell is he talking 'bout?" He asked.
"Well uhh... I think Nightmare's going to recruit us into the Bad Sans'..." Scales said also confused.
"Bih do I look like a Sans to you?" Captain said in a funny voice.
"Eh kinda. Like a weird... Human-ish Sans... Except not human... I don't know what the fuck I'm saying haha." Cross scratched the back of his skull chuckling nervously.
"I don't think I should take that as a complement..." The demon said dryly.
"Nahh you're good, there's tons of fangirls for us." Cross said with a grin, though it didn't look like he felt that it was a good thing.
"Alright! Boys get in line." Nightmare shouted causing Cross and the other 3 to get in a line on the wall. "We have new people today, and we are going to try and get them to join the team. Do with that information what you will." He finished.
"He does realise that we're here right?" Captain whispered leaning down to Scales.
"Probably." The shorter skeleton mumbled shrugging.
After Nightmare had dismissed the gang all split up, but Dust walked over to the two. "How'z it goin'?" He asked, his facial expression obscured by the shadow on his face casted by his hood.
"Fine... I suppose..." The purple demon muttered, before noticing something. "Who's the head floating beside you?"
Silence. Shit I said something wrong didn't I- Captain thought to himself. Even Scales was frozen.
"You- You can see him? Not even cross can..." Dust seemed scared yet... Relived? As if this was a good thing, which both intrigued and concerned Captain.
"D-did I say something wrong?" Captain asked a little sweat dripping down his face.
"That's his dead brother..." Scales whispered looking at his taller 'friend'.
"Oh shit..." The demon mumbled. "Uh sorry mate..."
"I- I need a minute." Dust said before speed walking away, but his brother stayed.
"Can you really see me?" He has the same voice as Flappy, which sent nostalgia, bitter nostalgia, down Captain's spine.
Captain nodded slowly. "Yeah..."
The Papyrus' eyes widened. "REALLY?" He sounded so giddy. "Oop- Sorry- Gotta go! I'll talk to you later!" He floated away quickly after Dust.
"I wouldn't tell the others, they'll question us more if you do." Scales whispered looking at his ex... friend, yeah friend.
"You two, mind coming over here?" Nightmare's voice sounded much less scary now, which confused the two now.
Scales started walking towards the goopy skeleton first, Captain following behind.
"Was good." The purple guy said first.
"Listen, I know my boys are a handful sometimes, I want you to feel like a guest here so if they do anything bad tell me." The goop man said politely.
"Oh cool you're mama nootmare in this universe." Scales said absent mindly.
Captain looked at his skeletal 'friend' with an 'are you serious my brotha?' look on his face. "Uhhh thanks... So these are your kids?" He said looking back at Nightmare.
"In a way yes." He chuckled.
"Yeah I get them being a handful, I have a few kids of my own." Captain said understandingly.
"Oh yeah I honestly forgot you were a dad..." Scales mumbled.
"Yeah like how you killed my first son." The demon said snidely.
A tension filled the atmosphere, causing Nightmare to tense. "I... Am sorry for your loss." He said sighing. "But I would like to continue discussing your stay, as I'm sure this is a touchy subject. I can feel the negativity in the air." He finished.
"Damn, you one of those guys, with yall's 'oh I can sense the emotions in the air' bullshit" Captain said waving his hands in the air to emphasize his statement.
Scales kicked Captain's leg. "You fucking dipshit he's the god of negativity." He whispered angrily at his friend.
"Oop shit my fault." Captain yelped.
"For the love of the gods above, STOP PISSING THEM OFF!" The skeleton slapped the demon on the noggin.
"You bitch-"
"Enough! Enough. We are talking about your current situation. Do you know why you are here?" Nighmare raised his voice, seeming slightly peeved.
"Eh kind of. I get sent to a random multiverse in the primeverse omniverse and I fix something, typically become a therapist for someone, and then go back home." Captained then eyed Scales. "Except when this fuckhead decided to touch me like the little creep he is, now I have no clue what to do. I don't even know if he'll be able to go home, or if I will either." He growled glaring at his skeletal frienemie.
"Well I'm sorry, you never thought to mention that!" Scales sounded angry now.
"Listen here you son of a bitch-"
"Will you two stop bickering! Gods you two will fit right in...." Nightmare sighed before signaling them to follow him.
They all walked evenly spaced out. "This will be your room. You both will share a room, so you two can get used to each other." He said pointing to the door.
"Woah woah woah, I am NOT rooming with this traitor!" Captain said waving his hands around before pointing at Scales.
"Please tell me there's at least two beds...." Scales said sighing as if he already knew the answer.
"You two can figure out the bed arrangement, but you should go to bed. Long day tomorrow!" Nightmare chuckled before leaving the two in front of the door.
"Oh for FUCKS SAKE!" Captain growled slamming the door open to reveal a queen sized bed in the middle of the room with two nights stands on either side.
"Ugh fine whatever you sleep on the bed I'll sleep on the floor." Scales sighed looking at the tight room, there being barely even any room to walk in, let alone sleep on the floor.
"Hell no, I'll sleep on the floor." The purple demon said angrily.
"Oh so now you care?" The skeleton rolled his eye lights in a dramatic way.
"Oh shut up- wait SHIIITTTT WE DONT EVEN GET A BLANKET?!?" Captain shouted even more pissed off now.
Scales grumbled something under his breath. "This is some bull shit." He said a bit more clearer.
A few seconds later the air turned on. And it was like ice. Captain was only slightly affected but Scales was shivering like crazy.
"Oh for cryin out loud-" Captain grumbled before pointing to the bed. "Just lay on the damn bed." He said pinching the bridge of his nose.
Scales sighed and layed on the bed, still cold. Captain then found a 'comfortable' spot and layed down. He tried to just close his eyes and ignore Scales, but the poor skeleton's teeth clattering could be heard all throughout the room.
Captain came up with an idea on how to help, but it would absolutely destroy his dignity. If they were caught he'd never hear the end of it. But he also hated seeing other people be practically freezing to death, it was probably something to do with his trauma back with.... Her.
"Fucking hell...." He mumbled before getting up and going to the bed. Scales looked up at him confused, he was in a curled up ball shaking like a leaf.
Captain grimaced slightly looking to the side then back at the skeleton. He sighed before getting on the bed.
".... What the hell are you doin-" Scales was cut off by Captain grabbing the skeleton and pulling him close. "What the fuck- mph!" Captain shut the skeleton up by pushing his skull onto the demons chest.
"Just shut the fuck up and go to sleep. And I swear to EVERY SINGLE FUCKING GOD OUT THERE if you tell a SOUL what happened today I will personally torment you for the rest of your life." The purple guy swore as he laid his chin on Scales' skull.
Scales seemed to finally relax a bit, as he then pulled himself even closer into Captain's embrace, and neither of them knew whether or not it was because he was cold, or if he actually enjoyed it.
Captain was actually quite comfortable at that moment, too comfortable in fact. He hated this with every fiber of his being. This is so fucking stupid... If anyone finds us like this, it would be terrible black mail. He thought to himself. The worst part is, is that he actually didn't hate this. His brain was telling him that he should let go of Scales and go lay back on the floor, but his heart said otherwise.
Scales was also deep in thought. Why is he choosing now to get clingy again? Or am I getting the wrong idea? Maybe I should test something... A mischievous smirk crossed his face, as freed one of his arms and used his hand to scratch behind one of Captain's ears.
Captain was caught completely off guard, but immediately leaned into the touch. Within seconds, he started purring, his tail wagging slightly.
Scales had to hold off his snickeri
ng, but continued to pet the demon.
They stayed like that for the remainder of the night, and they both had the best sleep they've gotten in a long, long while.
