Chapter 7: +1. More & More

Chapter Text

Things had been going really well since the day at the crow's nest. Sanji had finally started acting on his desires to touch Zoro, no longer bounded by the fear of Zoro's disgust. A hand on his arm when he passed Zoro, a gentle ruffle on Zoro's hair when he was sulking for booze, and soft hand holdings when they were alone in the galley. Zoro had also reciprocated with small gestures like wrapping his arm around Sanji's waist during their sunrise-watching sessions in the morning, which never failed to make Sanji swoon internally.

Zoro and Sanji both agreed that since neither of them wanted a break up, it was best that they told the rest of the crew about their relationship as soon as they could. They decided to do just that during dinner the day after.

And that brought him to this moment, where Sanji was trying really hard not to let the tremor in his hands show as he served each Straw Hat their dinner. He noticed Zoro shifting in his seat with visible agitation, looking as on edge as he was. Poor Usopp who sat next to the swordsman had shrunk progressively deeper into himself as time went, not knowing what he'd done wrong to upset him.

Telling himself he was saving Usopp from his misery, Sanji moved to the end of the dining table and cleared his throat.

Eight pairs of eyes and one lone eye turned to Sanji, causing goosebumps to break out at his neck at the attention.

"I, uh," Sanji forced his voice out of his throat, which constricted in his nervousness, "I have something I need to tell you."

Those familiar pairs of eyes blinked at him with surprise and some with worry, and it was Robin who spoke up softly. "We're all ears, Cook-san."

"This might… come as a shock to you since… well, many reasons. But…" Sanji took a deep breath and steeled himself. "Zoro and I are dating."

A hush fell over the Straw Hats. Sanji's eyes searched for Zoro instinctively, who stared back at him with a soft expression akin to pride, which grounded him in his overwhelming anxiety.

The silence didn't last more than two seconds before all the Straw Hats except Zoro collectively slumped in their seats and took huge sighs of relief.

"Thank the seas," Usopp muttered, "I thought you're gonna say something stupid like you need to leave the crew."

Nami shook her head in response. "I swear, Sanji-kun, if we have to deal with you talking about leaving again, I will charge you for making us go through all that."

The rest of the Straw Hats either nodded their heads in agreement or shook their heads in relief then continued on with their food, which prompted Sanji to panic.

"Did you guys not hear me? Zoro and I are dating!" He heard the pitch of his own voice rising to a hysterical shriek, "Aren't you guys gonna at least… say something about that?" He turned to Zoro, who was the only one who looked as surprised as Sanji was, blinking rapidly and looking around.

"I think it's pretty clear to the rest of us you and Zo-bro are in a happy relationship, Cook-bro!" Franky boomed and raised his can of cola in the air, nudging Jinbei next to him who nodded in agreement.

"I wasn't sure the two of you were in a relationship, but I sensed something was going on between you, without a doubt," The fishman hummed.

"It's safe to say that none of us are surprised by the news, Sanji-san, including our dear captain!" Brook chimed in and braced a hand on his own chest, "If I had a heart it would be pounding in excitement but sadly I don't have one, Yohohohoho!"

"Luffy knows?" Sanji gaped and turned to their captain, who beamed at Sanji with a blinding smile.

"I told you, Sanji, Zoro loves your blueberries!" He gushed.

Zoro glanced at Sanji in confusion. "Blueberries?"

"Nothing," Sanji avoided his gaze. He'd thought Luffy had meant Zoro loved him like family or as a crew mate. If even Luffy had caught on… then how obvious was their relationship to everyone else this entire time?

He groaned and slumped into the empty seat next to Zoro in both exasperation and relief. This "grand reveal" had went so much easier than he imagined. He was expecting dropped jaws, bulging eyes and what the fucks, not relief and immediate acceptance. Despite his incredulity, Sanji felt a rush of gratitude for his peculiar crew mates.

"For a second I was really worried something went wrong between you and Zoro and you're gonna say you're leaving the crew! " Chopper tugged at Sanji's sleeve, his big brown eyes filled with tears, "If you leave us again… I will never forgive you, you bastard!"

Sanji felt his heart melt seeing Chopper's tears. Nami, Usopp and Chopper, all being on Zou when he left for Wholecake Island, had expressed their worry over his potential break off from the crew again. His chest warmed at the thought. Just how much had his departure in Zou scared them?

Zoro was right. The crew accepted him, loved him, cared about him. He was a part of them. Who was he to decide his own value to the crew?

"Sorry for scaring you, buddy, but I'm not going anywhere soon." Sanji petted the doctor's head in apology, and the little reindeer's face lit up in relief.

"Why did you think I put you and Zoro's room next to each other on the past two islands?" Nami drawled, "Don't take me as a fool, Sanji-kun."

"My mellorine-!" Sanji's embarrassed groan was drowned out by the crew's laughter.

‧₊˚ ⋅ ⚔︎‧₊˚𓐐𓎩 ‧₊˚ ⋅

Love is a hurricane, Sanji had always said. And this violent storm raged in him as he mixed his batter with joyous vigour.

Valentine's Day was tomorrow, and he and Zoro had agreed a week prior that they were going to do prepare something for each other.

Weirdly enough, it was Zoro who brought up the idea. They were doing the dishes together then out of nowhere the swordsman mumbled "let's do those romantic shit you like so much for Valentine's Day", his face flushing red. It took Sanji every fibre of his self-control to not burst into a pink love-tornado. It was truly embarrassing.

He wanted to do absolutely everything for Zoro, but he settled for sugar free chocolate truffles and roses. Anything more than that would be too overwhelming, and he didn't want to overdo it lest it ruined the entire thing.

He scooped up a bit of the batter and tasted it. Perfect. Zoro hated sweets so he replaced caramel with peanut butter, reducing its sweetness to the a minimum.

It had been a while since he'd made chocolates for anyone.

And now he was back in business, his hands moving on their own without needing to stop and check his recipe, his heart racing in excitement, and he'd never felt more alive than he was now. "Operation Treating Your Soulmate Right" was good, but back then he and Zoro hadn't figured their shit out. Now, he was, for the first time in his life, able to romance his lover without his worries and anxiety plaguing him.

Sealing the baking dish after pouring in the chocolate batter, he carefully popped the batter into the freezer and set his timer for half an hour. He would shape the frozen batter into little balls and coat them in cocoa powder after the time was up.

He sat down at the dining table and started arranging his bouquet of roses. Zoro had requested to use his galley the day before, which Sanji agreed to, not before he had very gravely threatened the swordsman to keep his kitchen in tact. Now he had about an hour until he had to hand over his precious kitchen to the neanderthal, so he could take his time.

Zoro was going to cook him something. Sanji felt like he was floating on clouds. Soft, bouncy ones like they'd seen on Skypiea. Earlier, he had noticed one of his cookbooks was missing from his shelf in the galley, which further confirmed the fact. The sentiment was so stupidly romantic for the simple-minded swordsman, and god was it making Sanji swoon. Fuck.

Internally cursing the swordsman as he chipped off the roses' stems, the love-cook couldn't help with the giddy smile tugging at his lips. Ohhhh, he was in love.

‧₊˚ ⋅ ⚔︎‧₊˚𓐐𓎩 ‧₊˚ ⋅

Sanji was practically vibrating with excitement the entire day.

He was humming and swaying to the song in his head as he prepared lunch for the crew, his deft hands swiftly crafting the perfect Valentine's Day meal. If he paid attention, he would notice trails and trails of heart-shaped fumes puffing out of his cigarette that mirrored his sentiments.

The crew whooped when Sanji brought out the enormous heart-shaped pizzas and the cute side dishes adorning the dining table. Sanji, like the romantic he was, made two pizzas — Pepperoni and White Pizza, which represented Valentine's Day and White Day respectively. Sanji figured since he and Zoro were both men, there was no point in distinguishing the two, so he wanted to integrate both into today. A little thoughtful touch behind his cooking wouldn't hurt anyone.

It was just another usual day in the galley. In just a matter of seconds the table was already a mess since the crew used their hands (or hooves) to eat pizza, which encouraged their gluttonous captain to fight everyone for slices on the serving board. Soon, the dining table descended into full-on chaos, laughter and shrieks of exasperation echoed in the galley when Luffy stretched his rubber hands to steal even more food from his poor crew mates.

(Despite the chaos no food was wasted throughout the meal. The crew always respected Sanji's personal rule of never wasting food, so nothing dropped to the floor in the midst of the fighting and stealing.)

Amidst the chaos, Zoro scooted closer to him until their shoulders pressed together. Sanji captured this moment in his mind and tucked it away in a little box deep inside his heart. He wouldn't ever trade this for anything else in the world.

‧₊˚ ⋅ ⚔︎‧₊˚𓐐𓎩 ‧₊˚ ⋅

"Let me use your kitchen," Zoro said when he was drying the dishes for Sanji.

Sanji raised a brow. "I thought you were already done with it yesterday."

"Let me use it again," Zoro insisted, staring down Sanji with a weirdly determined look in his eye, "I'll cook dinner for everyone."

Now both of Sanji's brows raised so high it almost reached his hairline. "You? Why? I've already planned out dinner."

"Just let me, okay?" Zoro said, rubbing the back of his neck, "It's… a part of my, uh, thing we do for Valentine's Day."

Sanji was going to melt into a puddle. But he held himself together.

"Fine. Considering how you'd successfully kept my kitchen unscathed yesterday, I'll let you."

Zoro grinned, his face lit up with excitement. "Great."

After settling everything, Sanji left his galley to the swordsman and huddled up in his bunk, snug as a bug in a rug. He considered working on a few recipes he'd been meaning to explore, but it had been so long since he got to just rest and not worry about planning the next meal. So he decided to take a little nap, savouring the little luxury he got to indulge in.

The so-called "little nap" had resulted in him waking to Nami's voice calling out "dinner!" as he blinked blearily awake. He glanced at his alarm clock to find out he'd been sleeping for three whole hours. Cursing under his breath, he threw open his covers and scrambled for the door— just to bump into a smirking Usopp.

Sanji's eyes widened at the sight of his friend, "What the hell are you wearing?"

The sniper was in a suit. He had a white towel draped over his arm which curled at the front of his midriff.

"I'm your waiter for the evening, sir," Usopp announced, "Please come with me."

Sanji couldn't help with the silly smile taking over his face. He looked down at his own attire — he fell asleep in his usual suit that, fortunately, wasn't rumpled. This should be fitting for the occasion.

"Gimme a sec," he said, returning to his locker to pack his gifts into a gift bag, adjusting his sleep-ruffled hair in front of the mirror. Then he followed Usopp.

The sniper led him up towards the crow's nest and Sanji climbed up the ladder feeling like a teenager on a first date. A fancy dinner date was something he and Zoro hadn't tried before and Sanji was ecstatic for it.

Climbing into the crow's nest, Sanji's jaw dropped at the sight.

The entire crow's nest was adorned with Valentine's Day themed decorations. Up on the ceiling, red hearts dangled from string garlands. On the other end of the room, where the training equipment was usually placed, stood a multitude of heart-shaped balloons. In the middle of the crow's nest was a round four-seater dining table surrounded by rose petals on the floor.

Zoro was sat on one side of the table, his posture stiff, looking like he was seconds away from darting. His face was flushed, and his good eye was looking at anywhere but Sanji.

"Welcome, welcome!" Usopp chirped and ushered Sanji towards the table, dimming the lights in the crow's nest and lighting the candles at the centre of the table, "These lovely decorations were ordered by the great captain Usopp upon the request of our swordsman! Urgent deliveries are certainly necessary for a man to woo his lover."

"Nami wanted to fill up the crow's nest with balloons but I stopped her," Grumbled a red-faced Zoro, still not looking at Sanji even when he plopped down on the seat opposite his.

Two cloche-covered plates sat in front of Zoro and Sanji. A mouth-watering aroma filled Sanji's nostrils, causing his eyes to widen and stare at Zoro across the table.

Did the moss make his favourite cuisine?

"Presenting to you — seafood risotto made by our crew's first mate!"

The cloche lifted to reveal a plate of steaming seafood risotto. The amount of mussels, prawns and squid— all Sanji's favourites— were well balanced out with the rice. The creamy smell of butter along with the brine of sea salt wafted from the dish. It smelled so good.

Sanji gaped at the dish before him. "You made this?"

"The witch helped me," Zoro grumbled, his face getting progressively redder, "I… I did the prep yesterday and I did the cooking today. Nami speculated. She said she didn't trust me with your stove."

Sauntering over with a flourish, Usopp stopped beside Sanji and poured some white wine into Sanji's wine glass. "Your wine, sir. Just so you know, this gentleman here has made enough risotto to feed the rest of us, so do not worry."

Sanji glanced at the bottle. It was good wine, a brand that Sanji liked but a little bit on the costly side, which he wouldn't even consider purchasing unless during special occasions.

"Your date got this for you, sir," Their long-nosed waiter winked mischievously, "Spent a good fortune on that too. Anyway, I will leave you two in peace. Have a good evening!"

The long-nosed man hopped down through the hatch and swung it shut.

Zoro was still not looking at him, endearingly flustered.

Sanji chuckled and took a small bite. It was a little bit soggy and too salty, but the taste of the dish alone filled Sanji with a fuzzy feeling that coursed through his veins and warmed his insides. It was the most perfect thing he'd ever tasted.

Now, the swordsman was staring at him with a nervous expression etched on his face, his shoulders tight. He looked like he was going to puke from nerves.

Sanji hummed and said, "This is probably the best seafood risotto I've ever had."

Zoro's jaw went slack. "You… you like it?"

Shoving another mouthful of rice into his mouth, Sanji nodded and grinned.

Relief flooded Zoro's features. He then picked up a spoon and started eating, then grimaced at the bite. "This is way too salty, cook, I put too much salt in this. There's also sand in the shitty mussels…"

Sanji interrupted softly, "This is really good, Zoro. Don't know what you're talking about."

Zoro's eye widened at Sanji's insistence, then his features softened for a fraction.

Sanji considered keeping his appreciation concealed behind his facade of nonchalance, but quickly decided against it.

"I love this, Zoro. Thank you for doing this for me."

The swordsman's cheek darkened at Sanji's words, a sight Sanji was slowly starting to get used to but never got tired of. Sanji reached out to pinch his flushed cheek, his grin so wide it felt like it was going to split his face in half.

"Cute." He cooed.

Zoro's answering blush was so intense that Sanji wondered if there was any blood left in the rest of his body. The swordsman retorted quickly, "I'm not cute! Shut up!"

They fell into their usual banter and soon conversation flowed naturally between them again, their shyness dissipating into a series of playful insults as they enjoyed the meal made by the swordsman.

After they had finished, Sanji tentatively whipped out his gifts from under his chair — his bouquet of roses and the handmade chocolate truffles.

Accepting the bouquet with a grin, Zoro sniffed at the flowers and hummed. "Smells good. Thanks, Curly." He then raised a brow as he accepted the chocolate truffles.

Sanji replied, "I know you don't like them, but try this one out before you say anything. Chocolate is a must on Valentine's Day."

The swordsman didn't hesitate to pop one into his mouth. As he chewed, the initial sceptical look in his face was quickly replaced by surprise, "Damn, Cook, this is so good."

Sanji grinned. "Knew you'd hate if it's caramel inside so I used peanut butter. A stroke of genius, I know."

Zoro only rolled his good eye in response, then he disappeared under the table and reappeared with a large bouquet of sunflowers in his hand. Sanji's eyes widened.

"Ordered this a while ago," Zoro mumbled, looking away sheepishly as he handed it to Sanji, "Yellow reminds me of you."

An arrow straight to his heart. Mini explosions in his ears. That was so romantic. There wasn't supposed to be a single cell of romance in the mosshead's body, but here he was making Sanji want to yell at the heavens in glee.

"Thank you— Damn, they're beautiful, Mossy," Sanji rasped, bathing in the earthy scent of the flowers. Sanji knew sunflowers typically don't carry any scents but these were in full bloom. The aroma was faint, discreet, a sharp contrast to the potent scent of roses.

Sanji knew his love was loud, bold and proud like the roses; while Zoro's was subtle, hidden in plain sight, and he was now holding the embodiment of the swordsman's love in his hands.

"Got another thing for you," Zoro murmured.

The swordsman reached up and removed one of his earrings. He then held it out over the table, its gold gleaming softly in the candlelight.

Sanji could only gawk at it.

"I want you to have it," Zoro said hoarsely.

Sanji reached out a shaking hand and accepted the small accessory. Its weight felt… right in his hand. Like it had always belonged there.

"I'll get it pierced first thing in the morning," Sanji said, choking on the lump in his throat, "I'm sure Usopp has the right tools."

Zoro beamed.

Surrounded by heart-shaped balloons and watching Zoro's stupid grin over the candlelight — it was a dream come true. Zoro knew he wanted this and curated this romantic little space for him. It was the most romantic thing anyone had ever did for him.

His heart was swelling. He could feel his affection for Zoro threatening to pour over, his chest threatening to burst open from all the love he was receiving.

Love is truly a hurricane.

‧₊˚ ⋅ ⚔︎‧₊˚𓐐𓎩 ‧₊˚ ⋅

Sanji had no idea how they ended up lounging on the benches in the crow's nest, but that was where the two of them were now.

He was taking slow, idle hits from his cigarette while Zoro was pretending to hate the smell of it, the usual. Their hands were loosely intertwined between them as their conversation dragged on unhurriedly, neither of them willing to leave their little haven.

The moon loomed above languidly, its silver beams filtering over the skylight window and spilling over the crow's nest like liquid silk. The swordsman's mossy hair was coated in the beautiful shade of silver that matched his good eye— he looked at ease, his usual scowl softened into a placid expression akin to contentment.

Sanji had already forgotten what they were talking about. Their conversation had drifted into a comfortable silence. How had he gotten here? Sprawled out on the wooden benches with his hand in his lover's hold, bathing in the moonlight, not worrying about anything but the present… What had he done to deserve this happiness?

As if needing to confirm this wasn't a dream, and perhaps also driven by an urge to be even closer to Zoro, he spoke.

"I've always imagined having a lover meant… providing protection and doing everything for them. You know, all that fairytale shit. The prince was supposed to protect the delicate princess and stuff like that."

Zoro snorted.

"Scoff all you want, asshole, but ladies are to be cherished and protected."

"I beg to differ," Zoro drawled, "Women are more than capable of taking care of themselves."

"What I'm trying to say," Sanji smiled, knowing in this specific matter they'd had to agree to disagree, "is I've always envisioned what it's like to be in love. So when I found out I had feelings for you I panicked. 'cause… what the hell do I do with you, right?"

Zoro hummed.

"I can't exactly woo you with flowers and sweet compliments like I did with the ladies. And you hated my guts. So I thought, I'll just take these feelings to the grave. Then Wholecake Island happened."

Next to him, Zoro's shoulders tightened up for a fraction.

Sanji halted to sip his wine. He owed Zoro the truth, the extent of his true feelings.

"It's funny how we lament for what we had only after we've lost it." Sanji said quietly, "That godforsaken island was straight out of a fairytale, Zoro. I mean literally, dessert for trees and grass, cakes for buildings… It was like you were in Hensel and Gretel."

Zoro was silent. His thumb started rubbing circles in the back of Sanji's hand.

Using Zoro's touch to ground himself, Sanji continued. "It was everything I imagined. A fairytale wedding, wearing a groom's white suit. It was everything I dreamt of as a kid. But it all felt so wrong. I didn't want her. I didn't want any of that. When I stood there on top of that ridiculous cake, the only thing I could think of was being back on the Sunny again."

When Sanji stood at the altar, he was only thinking about his true family, his fellow crew mates who were still trying to get him back even after Sanji had pushed them away so cruelly. He was also thinking about Zoro. Zoro's smile, and every little thing about Zoro that Sanji didn't appreciate before he was taken away. How he wished it was Zoro standing there next to him. That was the fairytale ending he truly wanted.

"That's what I want. To be here with the crew. With you." Sanji said, holding Zoro's gaze, "It was so selfish. For the longest time I hated myself for even wanting this. But…"

"It's not selfish to want to go home after getting blackmailed and abducted against your will." Zoro grumbled plainly, which prompted Sanji to laugh.

"Okay, when you put it like that..." Sanji chuckled and sighed. "You're right."

"Did Luffy or Nami tell you how I reacted to your news in Zou?" Zoro said out of the blue.

"No, why?" Sanji asked, confused as to why Zoro would bring that up.

"I told Luffy to leave you alone." Zoro huffed a short laugh, "I kept telling him we shouldn't even bother saving you. You know why?"

"Because you think I betrayed the crew?" Sanji said quietly, feeling his stomach sink.

"No. I said those things because I was confused and angry." Zoro said, "I didn't know what I was feeling when it happened, I thought what I was feeling was betrayal and anger. But thinking back now, in the back of my mind I never believed for one second you actually abandoned the crew to go marry some girl."

Sanji's eyes widened.

Zoro continued. "I know you, Cook, you treasure the crew more than anything and although you're an absolute menace around women, you'd never do that to us. Then it hit me— I was jealous. I was so jealous. You left a note and ran off with some girl? That was all I could think of when Nami broke the news. I lost it, and I said those things. I knew deep down I didn't truly mean them. Luffy also called me out on that, asking if I was worried about you."

"Did he?" Sanji said softly.

"He saw through me." Zoro sighed, scratching his chin, "I mean, in my defense, it was a lot to process when you just realised you were in love with your crew mate."

Sanji realised what Zoro was doing. Sanji ripped open his chest and displayed his tender heart in front of Zoro with his confession, so Zoro responded in kind.

"What I'm trying to say is," Zoro echoed Sanji's earlier words, "you have no idea how much you mean to me. Even before we're dating."

Sanji's heart skipped a beat.

"You wanna talk being selfish? I'll talk being selfish.“ Zoro spoke as if his words were tumbling out without his control, "I want more of you. If I could, I want to spend every second of my day with you. I want to watch every sunrise, every sunset and every nightfall with you. If you'll let me."

Me too. Me too. Sanji's heart screamed. I want more of you too.

Yes, he wanted more dates, more stupid grins, more sparring and more sunsets with Zoro. He wasn't afraid to admit this anymore, not to Zoro, not to himself.

"Of course I'd let you. I've wanted this for so long." Sanji added, sniffling. Shit, he wasn't planning on crying at all.

Warm fingers cupped his cheek and brushed away his tears with a tenderness he hadn't felt since his mother's passing. If only she knew he was now receiving the same love she once gave him…

"Idiot." His love said.

‧₊˚ ⋅ ⚔︎‧₊˚𓐐𓎩 ‧₊˚ ⋅

By the time Sanji returned to the galley it was already deep into the night, the dining area already cleaned up and vacated. Only a little note remained on top of the spotless island.

Got the boys to clean up!

Enjoy your little break, happy valentine's day <3

Nami

Sanji couldn't help with his affectionate smile as he read the note. He could picture the way Luffy pouted when he was forced to clean up.

Returning to the men's quarters, a harmony of snores greeted him when he entered the cabin. He closed the door discreetly to not wake his friends.

Zoro and him shared one bunk bed that was closest to the door. Sanji spotted the swordsman with his back to the door on the upper bunk, but he wasn't snoring like a trooper as he usually was. He was awake.

Sanji slipped into the his own bunk and stared blankly up at the upper bunk, debating with himself whether he should ask Zoro to join him in his bed.

Fuck it. He rose to his feet and poked his head over the upper bunk to peer at the swordsman, careful not to jostle the bunks too much.

"Zoro," Sanji whispered, willing himself not to flush and failing miserably.

In the dim lights in the cabin, Zoro turned to him and his eye widened.

Sanji pointed at Zoro, then pointed down at his bunk bed below.

Zoro nodded eagerly, his demeanour resembling a child accepting sweets from an adult. To say it was endearing would be a vast understatement.

The swordsman quickly climbed down and slipped into Sanji's bunk. He lied down next to Sanji, his shoulders stiff.

Then the blankets shifted and Zoro's thigh was pressing against his. Sanji could feel a tingling sensation where the swordsman's thigh met his slowly spreading over him, finding its place in his chest and nestling there. He simultaneously felt the need to flee and to be here forever.

"Can I…" Zoro whispered, "Hold you?"

Yes. Please hold me right now or I think I'll die.

Sanji gulped and nodded.

Strong arms wrapped around him, steady and warm. Zoro smelt like steel and seafood, a pleasant scent that filled him with a sense of comfort. It felt like home in Zoro's arms.

"You haven't showered?" Sanji scrunched up his nose, feigning disgust.

"Didn't have time," Zoro murmured into his hair, "Spent the entire day doing romantic shit for my boyfriend."

Sanji hid his smile in Zoro's chest and pinched his thigh punishingly.

"You complaining, boyfriend?" Sanji teased.

"No. 's worth seeing your dumb smile," Zoro murmured, his fingers carding through his hair in gentle strokes.

Sanji hummed and nuzzled into his new pectoral pillow. With Zoro's warmth seeping into him and his scent enveloping him, his lids drooped uncontrollably.

A kiss dropped onto the top of his head. "Goodnight, Cook."

"Goodnight, Mossy." Sanji whispered as his lips found Zoro's.

End

Notes:

If anyone has to know, Sanji is humming Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy by Queen when he's making the vday pizzas for the Straw Hats. (Of course it can be any other song you want it to be ;))

This is my first time writing 5+1 things and it's honestly so much fun.

I'd like to think there's still so much unresolved trauma in Sanji after WCI and because they were so busy in Wano (with the entire crew scattered around and the back to back big fights), which means Sanji still has a hard time figuring out his shit — namely his self-worth issues which I wanted to touch on in this fic. Zoro's also bad at expressing himself and his own feelings so I thought they'd have to have a little fight before they talk everything out.

Isn't that what love is? To see each other's flaws and to still love them anyway? I hope the message got through.

Thank you for reading! Happy Valentine's Day <3
