Chapter Text
Eventually the time came for you to actually do something, be of use. You’ve been pondering about the future more than you usually would. Which makes sense, you’ve basically lived In the same cycle ever since you’ve been created, plus you’ve been waiting for this moment for your entire life. It only makes sense for It to change your course of thoughts at least a little bit. Even though the more you thought the more you realised not much would probably happen. Although this Is the closest the company has ever had to capturing the Guinevere that didn’t mean much considering they haven’t had anything about her In decades. You eventually landed on the fact that nothing would really happen during the Investigation, maybe find a clue or traces of the Guinevere and her “partners” but thats about the extent. But Its better than nothing, at least It was a change of pace.
After pondering a bit more Micky eventually entered your room, with a small smile on his face. Micky Is usually pretty cheerful which heavily contrasts with the serious and more dark tone with the Inner-park. He definitely stands out to say the least, you suspect that he’s either extremely skilled at his job and his personality Is just something that comes with It or that Its just nepotism. Either way you never really cared, as long as he Isn’t a nuisance to you then he’s fine. Which Is how you view most things anyway, whether objects or people most are the same. With the only exceptions of that being the Guinevere and Olivia, which Is kinda humorous considering you’ve hardly Interacted with either of them. Olivia always being plugged onto life support, and the Guinevere being nothing but a name flying through the air of the castle. You’ve encountered some of the park Guineveres before, sometimes they’re brought Into the castle If they need repairs or If they can help with something. But they’re all the same, bubbly and sweet, always smiling, just as a princess should. It made sense for Micky to be happy about finding the original Guinevere, It would be a good story to bring publicity, even the higher-ups are probably In a good mood about It.
“You know why Im here so I wont chitchat and get straight to what you need to know” He said closing the door. It was kinda odd because usually he would make small talk all the time, but you guess this Is different than most times.
“Fine with me,” You continue “What do I need to know?” Even though you didn’t realise It, deep down you were curious about the Guinevere. But you subconsciously dismissed that for just needing to remember anything that could be useful.
Micky grins softly and begins speaking, obviously he Isn’t able to speak about It to many people. It must a relief for him to get It off his chest.
“Well for starters this Guinevere Is pretty strong, much stronger than what *Olivia* said, which Is pretty Irritating.” He huffed, clearly not pleased “Although basic Guinevere models are strong this one Is capable of much more and wont hesitate to be destructive unlike the others.. In fact this one Is suspected to have taken down Sir Arthur”
You were slightly taken aback, Sir Arthur Is a mindless hunk of metal who’s only purpose Is to be destructive. You knew Guineveres were strong but not to that extent.
“Was Sir Arthur sent to retrieve her?” You ask
“Yeah, safe to say he got beat up pretty good. If we wanna get the Guinevere back we’ll need to use logic Instead of strength.”
You cocked an eyebrow “And how will we do that? The Guinevere obviously Isn’t stupid If she can take down Sir Arthur”
Micky shrugs “Well the Guinevere obviously has been rotting away for years judging by It’s appearance, theres probably a few glitches In It’s mind. But If that doesn’t work out we could always offer the two humans who brought her here a couple thousand. A fair trade If you ask me, the two humans seem to come from the underground.”
You tilt your head a bit
“I guess that could work, If I see the humans Ill let them know of their potential prize. And If they decline I guess we can just put a bounty on their heads as well. But It probably wont come to that today If Im just searching for clues.”
Micky nods, he likes how you’re thinking today “Good point, but yeah you’re right. I doubt will get a direct conversation for a while. Anyway as I said you and some others will be sent to check the place out, they’re humans though. All you’ll have to do Is give some advice and maybe tell em’ what to do. It shouldn’t be a big deal”
You nod as you listen to your role, you wouldn’t mind having more authority but at least Its less work.
“Thats fine with me, as long as none of them are Idiots It shouldn’t matter”
…
You and five humans go down to where the Guinevere and her two friends were last spotted (Also where they set off the alarm) You tell the orders to just search around the room for anything left behind or out place. You step Into the centre of the room, trying to get a feeling of Its layout and thinking where they could’ve run off to. The room Itself Is an operation room for androids, where scientists would create or repair an artificial and false life. The two humans must have brought the Guinevere here to repair her, since they wouldn’t have technology capable of fixing her where they’re from. The room and two entrances and exits, which means you have a 50/50 chance of correctly guessing where they ran off to. At first thought It doesn’t seem so bad, but then you remember that each room leads to another room, and then another, and another.
Unfortunately there wasn’t many cameras around this part of the labs since nobody really thought someone would try to break Into this part specifically.
Your thoughts were quickly Interrupted by one of the humans who accompanied you. To be honest you forgot they were there, they weren’t annoying and were just getting their job done. They all kept to themselves after you assigned them what to do.
“Excuse me Miss Y/n?” The human asks
You turn around to face them
“Yes? Is there an Issue?”
“Its been nearly two hours of Investigating here now and we haven’t found anything.”
You cross your arms, although deep down you’re not too surprised at this outcome
“Have you checked for finger prints?” You asked “They must’ve touched a few things to repair the Guinevere”
“They’re smart and wore gloves, I suspect one of them Is an ex-employee of ours who just got fired recently. Even though shes only been working with us for a week”
You have a small sigh but deep down you’re pretty pissed
“Do we know her name? It’d be In the files”
“Andrea (Whatever her last name Is) She worked In the labs for animatronics, she clearly has experience with this sorta stuff. We cant Identify the other one human though, they have dont have a record of working with the park”
Well that’s something you guess, It seems the deeper you go Into this mystery the more complicated It gets
“And when were they last spotted here?” You asked
“Around two days ago, thats when they set off the last alarm”
You glance back to the two entrances/exits connected to the room you’re currently In
“You all keep looking here, Ill take a look down Into one of these corridors and see If they left anything there”
The one before you nods and walks back to do as you’ve told. You turn around and go Into one of the corridors, picking one at random. It wasn’t very well lit down there, the lights worked but obviously this places wasn’t used very often judging by everything looking like It hadn’t been touched In awhile, great just what you’ve been looking for. Just as you were about to turn back and take a look down the other corridor you hear a noise, a slight bang, something falling onto the floor. You turn around looking at where you came from and see nothing had changed and nothing had fell. For a moment It was so silent you could hear a pin drop, until you heard the same sound again. This time with you being more aware you’re able to tell where Its coming from, Its one of the doors near you. You quickly walk over to It swishing It open as you begin to venture deeper behind the door, entering another room, and then another, and another. Just like how you predicted. Until you eventually catch a movement of something, your speed picks up now confirming that a being had been making said noises Instead of It just being nothing.
“Hey-!” You yell practically falling onto the door In front of the being creating all this ruckus. As you try to open It you see a problem, the door wont open, whether Its locked or stuck doesn’t matter, you just need It open. Because right now that door Is the only thing between you and the being In front of the door.
You look through the small window of the stuck door and you could nearly fall back from such a sight. Its the Guinevere alright, but somethings wrong, *very* wrong. She looks like she’s gone through multiple wars, being badly beaten up and to the point of nearly being unrecognisable. You knew Micky said she was damaged but not to this extent. You were about to open your mouth to say something but you were quickly Interrupted.
“You’re not human, are you?”
“What?? No Im—“ You say frantically trying to get the door open as quick as possible. You try kicking It, breaking the lock, but nothing Is successful.
“Im not one either” She said In a rather calm tone, yet It still holding caution
“Do you work for *her*?” She asks rather gently, as If you some child In distress
“Who?? Olivia!? Sure everyone here does, now listen we dont mean any harm we just want to—“
You were once AGAIN Interrupted by the loud voice of one of the humans you were sent down here with, they must have heard you speaking.
“Miss Y/n??”
You quickly turn around where the human’s voice came from before turning to look through the window where the Guinevere was, who had now disappeared without a trace
“Shit” you said to yourself, still looking out the window
