Chapter Text

The trip to UA felt a million times longer than it was to Sekejirou. Once he was finally in the main building, he immediately made his way to the teachers loung. Nedzu was normally there on the weekends, but as he scanned the room, it seemed he wasn't there

"Where's the rat?" He asked the room

"He said he sence somthing was coming and went to his office to prepare. Whatever that was supposed to mean," Kayama said from one of the couches

"Best not to question it, Nedzu never makes sense," Hizashi said, leaning on his husbans sholder while grading papers

"Why do you need him anyway?" Shota asked, putting his head on Hizashi's

"I'm taking some time off for a case," he said, leaving the lounge to go to Nedzus office

When he got there, the door opened just as he was about to knock. He should really know better after being at this school for so long, but he still attempted to knock every time.

"Hello, Kan, I've approved your time off alread though I would like to know what's so important that you, of all people, would take the time off," Nedzu said, sliding the paperwork across his desk for him to look at

"Of course you have," Sekjirou said, picking up a pen and adding his signature to the paper, "By the way whos subbing for me?" he asked, avoiding Nedzu's question for the moment, he'd explain in a bit

"Well, I decided I should, since I don't have much else to do during the school day," The rat said grining with all his teeth. Sekjirou sighed puting his hands to his face

"Just don't traumatise them too much," He said, sitting down

"I assume you didn't just come here to talk about," Nedzu said, tapping his paws on the desk

"Of course, you know I don't know why I bother with anything when it comes to you anymore," He said

"You really should get in the habit of not questioning me," He said, pausing his tapping. "Now what is it you need, Kan?"

"Could you look into a family for me?" he asked, smoothing back his hair

"Of course, I can, just give me their family name and what you need to know," Nedzu said, opening his laptop

"Their family name is Toga. I just need you to find anything you can. My mother would also like to know which quirk-concluding agency they hired for m- their daughter," He said corcecting himself when he mid-sentence

"Oh i see so they're taking improper care of this girl and she wound up in your care, seems you inherited your mothers tendencies concerning those in need," the rat said, typing away

"Thank you, Nedzu," He said, standing, ignoring Nedzu's comment, and left, heading straight back to the cafe

He saw the closed sign. It was earlier than normal, but knowing his parents, he knew exactly where they were. He pulled out his spare key, unlocked the door, and went up to the apartment. He saw his moms sitting in the living room, looking over Himiko. They looked over at him, not saying anything. He sat in an armchair near them.

"Go to beed it's late, I'll stay in here with her," He said, pulling a blanket off the otomen

His mom nodded, helping his mother up as they went to their old room. He made himself comfortable in the armchair, watching his daughter sleep, her small chest moving up and down with breath in that moment, he truly knew this girl would be his until he walked her down the aisle. He fell asleep watching her, knowing she was safe from those who hurt her.

Himiko woke up to the smell of food and blood. She sat up the soft blanket she had over her, falling off the couch. She quickly picked it up foulding it as nicely as she could, and setting it back on the couch. She followed her nose to the smell, finding herself in a small kitchen where Mr. Sekjirou was cooking. She pulled out a chair sitting at the table.

Mr. Sekjirou set a glass of blood in front of her. She hesitated for a second before smelling it. It smelled fine, so she picked up the glass and drank slowly, not noticing Mrs. Kan and Mrs. Tomoko coming into the room till she heard koowing from the doorway, startling her, making her put her glass down.

"Aww bug look," Mrs. Tomoko said, coming over and sitting next her

"I see my dear," Mrs. Kan said, sitting next to Mrs. Tomoko

Mr. Sekgirou set glasses in front of them. Mrs. Tomokos had blood, and Mrs. Kan's had some kind of juice in it. Mr. Sekjirou also set breakfast in front of them

"You are such a darling Finch, I could have cooked when I got up," Mrs. Tomoko said, starting to eat

"You needed rest, Mother, besides, I wanted breakfast ready when our little guest got up," Mr. Sekjirou said siting down with his own plate and glass of blood

For the rest of breakfast, they ate in almost complete silence. Himiko liked it, she decided it was much better than the meals she had at home. They were much too loud. After breakfast Mrs. Tomoko insisted on doing her hair. She brushed it so gently, Himiko was concerned it wouldn't work properly. Her mother said she had to brush her hair hard because of how much it knotted. She decided not to say anything, she liked how nice Mrs. Tomoko's hands felt working on her hair.

When she was done, she took Himiko to the bathroom to show her her hair in the mirror. She loved it, Mrs. Tomoko did it up in two adorable buns. They went back to the living room, where only Mrs. Kan was.

"Sekjirou had to go to work, but you can come run the cafe with me if you want, or since Tomoko took the day off, you can spend the day with her" Mrs. Kan said

Himiko took a few minutes to think about it. She should probably go home her parents were probably worried about her, but staying here for just one more day couldn't hurt.

"I want to see how the cafe works, Mrs. Kan," She said, looking up at her hopefuly

"Then that's what we'll do today, and please just call me Ethel, you call everyone else by their first names, and it's making me feel left out," Mrs. Ka- Ethel said

"Okay, Mrs. Ethel," She said

Mrs. Tomoko picked her up and carried her downstairs, and helped her put on an apron. Himiko had a feeling to day would be good.
