The blue light blinded his vision for a few seconds,and when It came back he knew this was something he never tought he'd see,the city(kaboom city as enigma told them) was so colorfull he tought he was seeing one of those corny 80' inspired movies,the streets where kinda messy as if a Big figh just happened there,and how to forget the main course the living objects that where running around,and he still Saw them as small so he guessed that he hadn't shrinked in size,some where doing mundane tasks and others fighting whit each other It was something Finn never even wondered if It could exist but here he was,and then he had the misfortune of not being deaf and remembering that he did in fact not come alone
"Oh my god this is super cool! Look Kai im yellow now and i have this stuff hanging from my head" mia Who now looked compleatly different since as she pointed out her skin was freaking yellow and had some Sort of mechanical arms stuck to her head whit all sorts of gadgets stuck to them
"Are you supposed to be like a swiss army knife?" Said Finn starting to think that perhaps he inhaled something he didn't have to in the laboratory and thats why he was seeing all these shit,after all It would be a logical explenation,an extreamly lame at that but logical nontheles
One thing he didn't realize,however,was that apparently the other two friends hadn't registered his presence till he spoke,like he somehow broke and invisibility spell that was layed upon him for no other reason than to leave the pair alone
" i definitly didn't expect you to actually come trought the portal" said Kai whit kind of a superiotity tone,which by the way It you asked Finn what the actual hell was Kai supposed to be he would have absolutly no idea,he was apparently looking badly or something because the dang blue thing said Next "don't look at me like that mate your not the first person i would think about when somebody says Who would be a good superhero, tought i doubt youll be the last,that friend of your takes the cake"
If finn didn't mind the first comments he did mind the last,and when he was about to launch at him somone Who wanted to beat the blue dumbase's ass whit equal intensity had to step Up,that being mia,Who put herself in the middle of the two Who seemed like they where trying to kill each other by starting,needless to say It wasn't working
"Alright i think thats enough!,Kai apologize and stop being an asshole" mia said dropping the wimsy Finn Saw about three minutes ago and being compleatlly serious even shutting Kai down when he tried to object
"Ugh fine,im sorry i guess,im not Wrong tought"he said that last part as a Whisper and none of them actually Heard it
"See how easy It was? Now,enigma what is out first mission as...what are we called again?"asked mia recovering her positive attitude tought not satisfied whit the apology but she was aware she couldnt really do more at the moment
"Well your called kazoom kids,since your not fully human nor fully superthing" enigma explained glad that he could finally Talk to these kids,this months where gonna be long "and right now you don't have a mission but.." he stopped talking for a second when a truck whit some Sort of skull painted in crossed "oh for heavens sake,alright,your mission right now its to stay here and not move till im back alright? Stay here." He said leaving for the truck
A few seconds passed in uncorftoble silence till they Heard a Scream and OF COURSE the two besties had to run and see what was going on even tought they where explicitly told not to,well to be fair It was actually Kai Who ran there and mia followed to make sure he didn't die first day of being there
And just when they left Finn Heard something coming from above,before he could question if It was god coming to punish him as his parents always told him It turned out to be a superthing,one that could fly apparently and Who positioned itself infront of finn's face, because if not he would probably have to look down all the time
"For the love of all things,thanks the gods they'r gone,i was starting to get bored" this superthing was curious,and made Finn wonder if he had seen It before,It was Sort of a chocolate heart covered in a red wrapper(that was kinda messed Up but still intact) it's wings seemed to be out of melted chocolate and he carried a bow and a heart Arrow,altought the bow looked like a children's toy and the Arrow like a Lollipop but Who was Finn to judge,one thing that he did notice however was that this superthing eyes where yellow and not White like his group
"Excuse me Who are you?" Finn asked confused to the superthing to proceded to look offended at this statement
"Well,my name is chococupi, And im your creation!"the superthing said exited circling around the human(or kazoom kids in this moment) Who looked puzzled because he surely didn't remember creating a superthing, chococupi catched that confusión so It decided to solve It "alright silly since you don't seem to remember,im that thing you threw to the portal, normally we wouldn't remember this stuff but i guess it's a thing from my powers,anyhow that doesn't really Matter,what i came here for is more important than anything of this! You see,since you are my creator i have decided that i am your ultimate ally from now on,congrats!"
"Ally of what? Im pretty sure i don't have enemies yet so why would i need an ally?" Finn asked genuenly confused because he understood the fact that they where gonna fight a bad guy or whatever but he had assumed that enigma and the other two humans where his ally's
"Oh por thing,you haven't noticed yet?" Said chococupi whit kind of a pitiful yet locking tone "well i Won't be the one to spoil It for you youll find out on your own"
Before Finn could ask anything about this he heard a Scream from the same place from before,this time being mia's
"Well Guess i gotta help,bye cupi" he said running towards the noise while the flaying thing just went at his side,they only wanted to see the drama
They arribed to the exact place after two minutes of running because they confused the allyway,anyhow what they Saw when they arribed was surely a surprise,mia and Kai (still transformed and trying their hardest) where being surraunded by a bunch of robots that looked Sort of like a barrel,also there was a superthing in the ground that was clearly an Orange and was struggling to get Up so Finn helped them Up,guess that was Who the Scream was coming from,and there was also a juicer superthing apparently directing the robot troop but they had yellow eyes,Finn wondered if It was something common in this world
"I told you that we should have waited like enigma said!" Said mia smashing robots whit her shield (since when did she have a shield?) and Kai was cutting them whit a sword on his hand(alright that crap would be hard to miss when did he get that?!) but It was in vain they where a lot of them,the two wouldn't be able by their own,he had to do something
This thing apparently shot lassers and one happened to hit a stop sign that was nearby,well It wouldn't be as good as a shield or a sword but will do
So he grabed It and sprinted where they where,he managed to hit two at the same time (one whit the actual Sing and one whit the stick) and left them on the ground,possibly not broken but what more could you ask
"Holy crap that was fast!" Kai said surprised,finn was not entirely sure if he was surprised because he came to help or because that actually worked
"Finn that was so dangerous! You have to use your powers,concéntrate on your kazoom energy!" Mia said more worried than anything since she was the cold head of the group jumping into the Battle whitout powers seemed ridiculous but Finn was not the type to think first act later,quite the oposite
"I have no idea what your talking about mia,but where in the middle of a Battle for our lives right now so It can whait,and if It can itll have to!" He said that last word hitting another one of those robots that was approaching them,since apparently some had left to charge at the Orange Who was now trying to scape them sitting on a tree,that made Finn gigle a little
He was quickly pulled from It however (both litterally and metaforiclly) when Kai pulled him from the arm towards him while one of the robots shot one of those lásers,he looked at the wall that now had a severly burnt Mark on It "holy shit you saved my Life" he said looking at Kai and realizing he was grabbing onto him way too strongly for the scared,if they where still on the human side he would probably have nail marks for the week
"Don't take It as anything i just saved you because it's an heroic thing to do,i still despise you" Kai said cockily letting go compleatly, meanwhile mia was beating the living hell out of the robots nearby on her own whit her shield and apparently those tubes on her head,Finn even Saw her burning one till It was molted while letting go of the most loud battle cry hes heard in his life, honestly his respect for her kept growing
"Well héroes also help save the day,so time to destroy robots" he went running towards them (picking his sign on the way) and hitting only one this time,but he was pretty sure this one broke when It collapsed against the floor,he then remember that there was somone else there Who had sworn him loyalty,and Who right now was trying to push the Orange superthing out of the trhee to the robots "hey cupi! Mind landing a hand bud?"
When the superthing Heard that they inmediatly came flying to the place "as you whish!" They charged two arrows on their bow and shot them to two robots,Who after a few seconds of standing still exploded, leaving everyone shoked to say the least
"What just happened?!" Mia said looking at the broken pieces in front of her,and then at the superthing,and then to the pieces again,whit a look on her face of both worry and amazament
"And Who is that!" Kai said refering to the superthing that was now flying above Finn making circles
Finn wondered why the robots had stopped attacking them but he quickly realized that It was because even the superthing commanding them was shoked at the outcome "well this is -" needles to say he was quickly interrupted by the head of the robots troops (at least the ones Who where still intact)
"What are you two doing your supposed to be on out side!" The juicer superthing sounded mad but also extreamly confused like they where seeing something that made zero to no sense in front of their very eyes,Finn understood that they where refering to cupi and him but he couldnt quite understand why
And then the troops surrounded them again,they eventually brought the Orange superthing whit them and threw them there whit the rest of the kids
Finn had his guard Up and had still not let go of the sign(because It was his only weapon at the moment) while an enormous truck approached where they where,and another superthing Who looked like an experiments tube got out of It and anounced whit a bow "kneel to the supreme leader of Evil! Mr King!" As a barrel of toxic waste came out of there,and chococupi went and placed themself near the juicer,Guess they where only allys when It was convenient
"Profesor,what are these ugly things Who are destroying my robots" the superthing on the top of the trunk,Mr King was their name apparently,spoke whit disgust just at the mere look at the three teenagers
"Pretty sure theyr human kids sir" the experiments tube looked surprised at the realitzation,like they wheren't supposed to be there,i mean i Guess they wheren't but that wasn't the point
"Get them out of my sight then they'r annoying me" mr King said crouching down to pick Up a dog that was there,Finn tought that was cute for a second but even the dog looked like they wanted them all dead so not that cute
As the order was given the robots started making the circles tighter by approaching them and Kai decided It was a brilliant idea to say the most cursed phrase of the whole world " at least things can't get worst" and just a second after saying that both Kai and mia went back to their human forms
"You just had to say that didn't you?!" Mia said like Kai had somehow brought a curse by saying those words,the universe seemed to hate them so It was likely,Kai just held both of his hands Up in a plea for forgivenes for her,Finn didn't go back but it's not like he learnt how to use his powers anyways so he wasn't of that much use aside from being a human shield(or kazoom kids shield, whatever you wanted to call It)
So yeah everything was going badly and they where gonna die,but you could say that was what Life was about,and at least they would die in another universe that sounded cool
And when he just assimilated his fate something happened,an angry Scream from Mr King and a sound of a laser being shot,but not at them "enigma!" He heard both of the humans shout,he looked Up and yep,there they where in some Sort of flying veicle that looked sick as hell
"Didn't i tell you to not move?!" Enigma didn't sound angry,they probably expected this to happened,a rope was trown from the flying machine and they began to climb one by one (heck even the Orange thing climbed to get away from there) while enigma kept shooting down at the bad guys,when they where all in the rope they flew away from there last thing they Heard was a muffled Scream from Mr King and some barking from his dog
The ride wasn't necesarally silent,It was just that he wasn't included in whatever they where talking about,but he didn't care that much
They arribed about half an hour later to enigma's headquartears,they would had arribed earlier if they went faster but enigma didn't want to Risk them falling out of the rope and yknow dying,It was something Sort of clock towerd,very wizard like,full of books and machines and the view was absolutly fantastic,you could see the whole city from there
Enigma also had normal house things on the towerd even spare beedrooms,one which they would be sharing Who had three beds all in their 'colors' you could say,but It was also the primary colors so he brushed It off as a coincidence
There was more than one batroom and Kai decided that he was gonna take a shower because feeling even the slightest but of sweet on his body was extreamly gross for him,Finn decided to go to another one since he hadn't de-transformed yet and wanted to know what he looked like,he was red,he kinda resembled Kai a little, in the sense that he had no idea what he was supposed to be,his accesories where cool tought,and of course one thing that surprised him,he too had yellow eyes,maybe that was a common thing in this world
Enigma told him that to de-trasform you have to waste all of your kazoom energy of the day but he could do It on command if he concentrarse enough,and so he did
Mia had decided to go for a walk when It was getting dark because this wasn't something she could normally do on their world, Finn kinda felt bad for that,enigma decided to go whit her just in case,she was great heroine but her powers needed recharging today
"Ugh my hands are killing me! Im never climbing a rope again!" Kai said looking at his hands red and a bit bloody from hanging,he just got out of the shower of the bathroom nearest to their bedroom and had already put the pijamas that enigma had given them (thanks god), tought he did seem to realize that the person he tought he was speaking to wasn't in the room whit them "wheres mia?"
"She went for a walk,you could join her if you wanted i don't think they went far, it's pretty dark tought" Finn said dropping what he was doing at the moment,which was writing on the Notebook he used as a diary,and went to check below his bed for something enigma said was below all of theirs
Kai flinched when the word dark was mentioned but Finn didn't seem to realize It "no thanks im not in the mood,plus my hands hurt like hell" he tried to sound as nonchalant as posible but he knew that It probably didn't sound like It,he was not a great actor
Finn ended Up finding what he was looking for and trowing It to the bed which kinda statrtled Kai,which Finn did notice this time "are you okay? You seem off" there was genuine worry in his voice which took Kai by surprised but he decided to downplay It
"Yeah im alright, stop worrying so much,we barely know each other" Kai said whit the meanest voice he could find,he didn't exactly know why he decided to be like this whit this guy he knew of nothing,but he already started and was not gonna stop
"That can easily be solved tought"Finn said trying whit his Life to sound as nice as posible,even if It was dificult because this guy was annoying as hell,if they wanted to live and fight on the safe space they should get along "come here" Finn said petting the bed (the gestuee reminded Kai of when you call a dog and he did not like It)but he ended Up doing as the red hair asked,perhaps to avoid confrontantion
When he approached he saw that the thing that was thrown before was a emergency kit,a kinda basic one but curious nontheles "where did you get that from?" Kai asked while Finn searched in the kit talking and relocating stuff
"I didn't steal It if thats what your asking"Kai opened and closed his mouth at this statement,like he was gonna say he didn't mean It that way but it wouldn't sound genuine at all,Finn let out a small gigle at that "enigma has left us stuff below our beds,we all have one of these,and more stuff,i already have my own kit but this one is bigger so im gonna use It" Finn took kai's hand gently which freaked out the blue hair Who quickly pulled away "pff, relax man im just gonna treat your hand,if i don't itll get worse,i already treatead mia's before you got out"
Even if that was a logical and understandable explanation It still embarrased Kai to no end,his friend would probably tease him forever,if finn was a girl (and a normal person in the standarts of their school) then he would probably be called a lady's man or a Casanova,so the mere tought of kai's Friends finding out that he was in this situation whit the gay punk kid at school would not be good for his reputation,he didn't have any much of a choice tought
"Dude you are so red,need me to also check your tempeture?" On the other hand Finn did find this situation both hilarious and amusing,he did know that other guys his age wouldn't even glance at him for the tought of being called boy kissers but It was certanly funny seeing It in broad Daylight,well,nigtlight,but you get It "just give me your hands,the faster you do the faster we separate smurf"
Kai ended Up conplaying (because It wasn't that Damm hard) but in the middle of the procces he did notice some things,first of finn's hands where full of marks (he wore fingerless globes but took them out to make the procedire easier) he had his nuckles damaged but they looked like they where healing,as well as light nail marks, everyone at school knew he would get on a lot of fights so It made sense that his hands where a little fucked Up if anything,but something else stood out that seemed like a perfect oportunity to madden somone "Why do you have that nail painted?" In finn's left hand,his ring finger was the only thing that didn't look beaten Up,It was painted in a pretty lavander color and had a Green flower painted in the center,Kai didn't know which flower that was
"Oh yknow,to match whit my girlfriend"Finn said finishing whith the patching Up "well It should heal in no time,but wash your hands whit cold water for a while, just in case"
There was quite an uncorftoble silence for a few seconds,you could see kai's head practiclly burning from whatever he was thinking,until he of course shouted "¡You have a girlfriend?!" Finn just nodded surprisingly not surprised at the reaction,like this was a common ocurrence,or a situation that was previusly rehearsed "alright..how is that Possible,i mean i tought..well we all did!... wheren't you like-" kai paused,took a deep breath,like saying the words may make him die or something,so he decidied to just plop his hand and make the gesture,whit a face saying:answer me i demand the answers now
"Oh no no no,i don't know where you got the idea but your mistaken,i could never!.. i really could never.." Finn did say It like It affected him and he was pushing It deep down "i mean i probablly wouldn't be here if i where like that,my parents would have left me on the streets or worst,but i have nothing to worry about!"
This seemed like a topic none of them wanted to discuss in front of the other so Kai decided to change subjects "so,why flowers?"
"Oh well,silvy loves plants,and i love to Paint,so i decided that i was gonna Paint us some flowers in our Nails, it's harder that in looks whit such a small canvas but i made It work" the akwarnes was kinda trown out of the window because Finn was so Happy while explaining this that even Kai forgot that he said to himself hed hate him
"Dude your did this yourself?! Thats amazing if i did this id probably Paint a mass whitout form and It wouldn't even fit on the nail,your girlfriend has the same one?"
"No actually,she has a violet on hers"Kai stopped himself to look at the nail again and ask himself,what fucking flower is that,which apparently Finn catched whitout a problem "mine is a green carnation,i find them very pretty"
To be honest the rest of the time they whaited for mia to arribe back was almost entirely Kai geeking over the other boys art skills,begging him to draw something and Finn ending of conplying out of pressure,he was very talented and Kai told him almost every time something was added to the drawing,soon enough they realized that It was getting late and that they would whait for mia sleeping, because they where really tired,and Kai knew that if he told mis he was whaiting for her to come back shell scold him for worrying too much,and so Kai turned on a nightlamp at his side of the table and Finn put a pillow on his side of the bed,none of them commented on each other because It was enbarrasing enough for two 16 year old boys to admit that one was afraid of the dark and the other had to sleep hugging something
Mia arribed 10 minutes later or so,It wasn't even that late so It surprised her that the other two where already sleeping,well better that than if they where screaming at each other,and so,theyr first day on kaboom city came to an end
