Chapter Text
Lucifer couldn't sleep peacefully ever since the incident. Being trapped in a scary box wasn't the best experience.. and it made him realise that he was pretty vulnerable.
Now that he made a deal with Alastor he felt a little better. Lucifer would never say it out loud but he actually knew who the radio demon was before he visited the hotel.
From where did he knew him? From his radio broadcasts, of course. Lucifer enjoyed the music and the occasional screams Al would play. He found his broadcasts really smoothing and it was one of the only things that helped him fall asleep.
So when his insomnia kept him up yet again, he turned on the radio to catch one of Al's late night broadcasts. When he heard the familiar voice on the other end he immediately began drifting off.
The broadcast consisted of 1930's jazz music, and occasionally Alastor would tell stories, tormented some media overlords? Lucifer had no idea who they were, some randoms who called themselves 'the Vees' but he was sure that one of them was the guy who put him in the weapon because he specifically requested that Alastor take care of the sinner.
Lucifer couldn't help but smile while listening to their screams. The angel fell asleep soon after, and the radio broadcast eventually ended.
"Let this be a reminder that Lucifer Morningstar is the King of Hell and it is advised that you don't forget your place," Alastor said before ending the broadcast.
The radio demon controlled all of the radios in the pentagram, and he could sense the radio waves in the Hotel. Alastor casually traced them back to the king's room.
He opened the door and smirked at the sight of Lucifer sleeping with a radio on his bedside table. He quietly turned it off and admired how vintage it was. It looked like it was in good condition too. Now that was something the radio demon really liked.
The details on the device were very unique but quite similar to the ones he had on his own radio.
Alastor was lost in thought when he felt a foot hit his head. "So you are awake..?"
Alastor looked at the angel, but he was completely out. The sinner sighed and riffled up Lu's hair, including messing up the very carefully placed rolls.
In the morning, the radio demon was in the main lobby, enjoying a cup of tea, when he saw a Lucifer furiously approach him. "Well.. Good morning, si-"
Before he could finish, Lucifer pulled him by the collar. "You little shit. Look at my hair! It's horrible." Lucifer's hair was half curled he still had some rolls tangled in his hair. In short, it was a mess.
Alastor smiled from ear to ear. "I see no difference from your usual look." The sinner plays with a loose strand of hair. "If we are talking about horrible, let's start with that robe of yours."
"Hey! Watch it, it's my favourite, and it was really expensive!" Lucifer crossed his arms.
"It's inappropriate for one to be wearing their night gown in public," Alastor answered.
"Oh, people, it's hell, who cares. Next thing you will say is that it's inappropriate for me to show my ankles." Lucifer said, annoyed.
"Ha.. you'd make an amazing clown, your majesty." Alastor stood up, towering over the shorter male. "I must say that I'm flattered that you left your room just to complain to me. Careful, or I might start thinking I'm important."
Lucifer looked around, like what Al was saying was unreal. "Oh yeah.. I am in the lobby.." the angel noticed all of the sinners and some of the staff that he couldn't be bothered to remember the names of.
"Cool.Cooool.. well I've got to go now." Lu started to open a portal, but then "Dad! Hii!! Can you please help? I need sweet treats for my new activity. Could you contribute?" Chalie asked.
"Char char! Of course, leave it to your daddy-uh, dad!" Lucifer looked back at Alastor. "You are coming-" Lu started saying before the taller male interrupted. "With you, yes of course. It will be my pleasure."
After a few hours.. and more than few attempts, Lucifer actually made something edible. He proudly placed his creation on the table and he checked out the other sweets on display.
"Ooo~ I love cinnamon buns.. don't mind if I do-" Lucifer reached out, but suddenly he felt someone pick him up before he could get the bun.
"Now, now, must I remind you that this is for Charlie's activity?" Alastor turned Lu around, still holding him by the shoulders.
Lucifer was about to come up with something to say, but then the wall in front of him was destroyed. Great..
The perpetrators were sinners who had gotten out of hand. Vaggi was running after them, but then she saw the two men, in such close proimity and she gave them a weird look and continued yelling at the randoms.
Alastor dropped Lu immidiately “Perhaps you should go back upstairs, change into something more appropriate.” The sinner said dismissively.
“I still want that bun.” Lucifer reached for it again, but Alastor turned him around. “Is it the lack of sleep that makes you this way, or are you just stupid? If you eat that, Charlie would be mad.”
Lucifer rolled his eyes and sighed. “Fine, then go and take care of the sinners from earlier, they are annoying.”
“If that’s what you wish for, sire.” Alastor grinned.
“Can you guys roleplay somewhere else?” Angel dust walked over the table full of sweets to place a dozen cupcakes. Alastor didn’t even entertain the conversation, he disappeared into the shadows.
_____
Lucifer walked into Charlie’s little office. “Sweetie! I know you are very busy, but how did the meeting with Heaven go?” he asked in a soft and careful tone.
“Not.. the greatest.. um I don’t know how much I can share, Dad.” Charlie said, looking really tired. “Some angels.. aren’t too happy. It’s a bit complicated- for now, exterminations are still a thing.“
“I’m sure it will be okay.. just give it some time.” Lucifer massaged her shoulders.
“Mom said that she is trying to talk things out, but she is, of course, getting dismissed..” Charlie sighed in frustration. “She isn’t really telling me anything either.. It’s so frustrating.”
Charlie was anxiously playing with the ring on her finger. The same ring Lucifer used to wear back when he was still married. After the divorce, Lu and Lilith decided to give their rings to their daughter. Not too long after, she proposed to Vaggi.
“If you want.. I can try and talk to-“ Lucifer suggested. “NO! No.. dad please, I want to do this my way.” Charlie interpreted.
“Oh! Yes, I’ll just leave it to you.. I just want you to know that I’m always happy to help.”
Lucifer smiled weakly.
“I know. Don’t worry, I’ll figure it out.”
_____
Lucifer returned to his room. He was crafting ducks when the doom of his existence appeared.
“Can you stop appearing out of nowhere?” Lucifer turned to face the one and only radio demon.
“Hmm, no. Besides, I’m just a humble man reporting to my king. The job is done.” Alastor straightened his back proudly and put his angelic scythe away.
“Wow, good job,” Lucifer said sarcastically.
“Oh my, prace? That’s a first after years of me serving you.” Alastor grinned and approached Lu. “What is making you worried, Lu?”
“After all of this time. Hell and Heaven still haven’t made peace officially. True, there haven’t been any exterminations. It’s still a bit worrisome.” Lucifer was actually thinking rationally for the first time.
Alastor looked like he had something to say, but he kept his silence. “Surely they do,” Lu jumped up from his seat. “I have a mission for you, Bambi.”
Alastor sighed and looked at the angel’s enthusiastic face. “I’m listening, Lu.”
_____
“I’m already regretting this.”
“Oh, cmon, at least act like we are a couple or else we won’t get in.” Lucifer tugged the sleeves of the taller man.
The two men were standing outside of Ozzie’s club. The most lustful and filthy place in Al’s opinion.
“I thought it was impossible for sinners like myself to leave the Pride ring,” Alastor asked, firmly fixing Lucifer’s coat.
“Well, usually, yes. Buttt you are special because you have some of my angelic power, and besides, rules are meant to be broken.” The angel kept his hand on Al’s arm.
“Of course you’d say that,” Alastor grumbled. He really disliked the thought of entering basically entering a sex club.
“I promise we will be quick, I just need to find Ozzie.” Lu dragged Al to the club.
Lucifer’s voice cut cleanly through the layered noise of the club, bright and entirely too enthusiastic for Alastor’s comfort. He resisted the urge to physically drag Lucifer back into his seat.
The embodiment of Lust himself leaned back in seat, one brow arching as he spotted the unexpected guest. “Well I’ll be damned twice,” Oz called out smoothly, voice carrying with effortless authority. “If it ain’t the Morningstar.”
Lucifer beamed and waved as though they were old drinking companions. He crossed the floor with that effortless glide he always had, weaving between demons far too entangled in each other to notice proximity.
Alastor followed, posture straight, smile tight and controlled, pointedly not looking at the various.. activities occurring around them. Were they really having a threesome in public?
Ozzie’s gaze shifted to him. “And you brought company,” he drawled. “Didn’t expect you to be into the edgy type, Luci.”
Lucifer laughed, waving dismissively. “Please. He’s only here as my bodyguard and excuse his rudeness and glaring.”
“I am glaring,” Alastor corrected smoothly, “because this establishment lacks subtlety.”
Ozzie barked a laugh at that. “You came to the wrong ring for subtlety, sweetheart.”
Lucifer stepped between them before the exchange sharpened. He slipped a hand around Alastor’s arm again, fingers curling into the fabric of his coat like earlier outside the club. The contact was deliberate this time, like he was trying to calm him.
“We just need a word,” Lucifer said lightly. “Just a minute.”
Ozzie studied them both, eyes narrowing with amused curiosity.
“Private room,” he finally said, gesturing lazily toward a side corridor. “You two look like you’re about to ruin my mood if we do this out here.” Alastor’s smile widened a fraction.“I assure you, that was not my intention.”
“I assure you, it is always your intention,” Ozzie replied.
Lucifer tugged Alastor toward the corridor before either could escalate further. “Behave, Bambi,” Lu whispered aggressively.
The private lounge was quieter. Plush seating, dimmer lighting, and significantly less public indecency. Alastor visibly relaxed by a measurable degree.
“You’re being uncharacteristically affected,” Lucifer murmured, adjusting Alastor’s lapel now instead of the other way around.
“I dislike environments where strangers feel encouraged to touch. It’s revolting.” Alastor replied evenly.
Lucifer’s lips curved faintly. “We touch all of the time.”
Alastor’s eyes flicked down briefly to where Lucifer’s hand still rested on his arm. “That is different.” Lucifer did not remove it.
Ozzie entered a moment later, shutting the door behind him with a solid click.
“So,” the Sin of Lust said, settling into a chair across from them, “what’s important enough to drag you two into my territory?”
Lucifer leaned back, crossing one leg over the other. His hand slid from Alastor’s arm. “I need a favor,” Lucifer said simply.
Ozzie raised a brow. “That’s never simple.”
“I want to have a meeting with all of the sins.” Lucifer insisted. “I know I’ve been avoiding these meetings, but it’s important.”
Ozzie’s expression sharpened slightly. “What could possibly be that important?”
“I think,” Lucifer said calmly, “That Heaven is thinking about attacking Hell again. It’s been years since Charlie’s hotel was proven to be working, but still, there is no official peace between Heaven and Hell.”
Alastor watched the exchange carefully. His posture remained relaxed, but there was something coiled beneath it, as if he knew something more than what Lu mentioned.
Ozzie leaned back, studying Lucifer more closely now. “What do you think we should do?” he asked.
“I still haven’t figured everything out.” Lucifer confessed, “I just need trustworthy people in on this.”
“And brought him?” Ozzie looked unimpressed at the sinner. In response, Lucifer’s fingers wrapped tightly around Alastor’s arm. “He is trustworthy.”
