He had decided to train with Silver in the forest they knew. After a while, and after being beaten again, he sat down, leaning his back against a tree. He felt tired and frustrated; he had lost again. But this feeling was quickly replaced by a sense of calm. Silver had fallen asleep on his shoulder. The setting sun bathed them in its glow. He just sighed, watching his "friend" sleep. "Friend" in quotes because he knew he didn't feel the same way. But suddenly, he heard Silver singing and was speechless.

When he was little, he felt lonely. He loved Baur's stories about his companion, Lilia Vanrouge, and longed to be a knight. He trained alone but yearned for someone to share that passion with. That, and all the romance novels he read. He wanted a friend, even though it was difficult.
When Baur offered him the chance to meet Lilia and Malleus, he almost fainted. What he didn't know was that Lilia had a son.
At first, he couldn't stand him. He was a human! He was annoying, he keep falling asleep, and to top it all off, he always won his training sessions.! It used to make him angry. But he soon found himself enjoying his company. He might deny it, but his smile when he got home after training gave him away. Finally, he didn't feel alone and he enjoyed every moment.
His feelings had surfaced quite some time ago, even though he denied it. He knew exactly when he had fallen in love with him.
They were training, and he was already 11 years old. He was already taller than Silver, but he still beat him. When he was defeated, he was crying, but Silver cheered him up. He didn't want anything to do with him, but he walked him back to the cabin with Lilia. On the way, he heard his companion humming a song. He doesn't know exactly what happened, but he was captivated. He didn't want to ask what the song was because of his pride. It also didn't help that when he said goodbye, he gave him a smile and thanked him. That smile... why was he so good to him? He only knows that that song accompanied him in his dreams.

Then, when his partner left for Night Raven College, everything worsened.
He felt as alone and bored as ever. He missed Lilia and Malleus, but the one whose absence he felt most keenly was his silver partner. With him, he felt understood and accompanied. It was his safe haven, even if he denied it. And suddenly, he began to miss his smile. He could still feel his arms around him when Silver suddenly hugged him goodbye. He hugged himself, trying to recreate the scene, but he knew it wasn't the same. Silver had told him he was waiting for him, and that gave him the motivation to keep training; he wanted to see him again. But it was difficult; he missed him.
When the days became tough, he often found himself unconsciously humming Silver's song, and it brought him a certain comfort. It was strange. Time had passed, but even though he didn't know the lyrics, humming it brought him calm and a sense of companionship, even though Silver wasn't by his side.
"It feels like it's our song," he said, and then fell silent, reflecting on his emotions.
He knew it was impossible and tried to bury that thought deep in his mind, but with each passing day, he missed him.
"Damn it"

When he entered the school, he saw him and was almost speechless. He knew Silver was handsome, but now, with his suit and the way he smiled at her, he seemed ethereal. He tried to hide his astonishment by teasing him about not buttoning his suit. Even so, he returned the hug.
"I hope you're ready for training because this time I'm going to beat you."
"I missed you too, Sebek."
The euphoria he felt was indescribable. As the days passed, he heard Silver humming again, but this time it seemed he had added a part. Silver told him about his dream and the curiosity he felt. And he heard his heart breaking. At that moment, he just wanted to go to his room and cry, but he heard Lilia and Malleus still wondering who this mysterious man could be.
He couldn't believe that the song, even though he didn't know the lyrics, the one he loved so much and thought was only theirs... yes, he allowed herself to imagine it was his song, belonged to a stranger. However, he didn't want to see him sad, and even though it hurt him, he would support him and help to find him. This stranger was very important for him, and even though it hurt him, he wanted what was best for him.
He thought about confessing his feelings, but he didn't want to push him away, and now that he was looking for the man of his dreams, all he could do was stay by his side.
He couldn't leave him; this was his place, even though it hurt that his feelings weren't reciprocated. He knew it was a whim of his to say it was his song, but that's how he truly felt.
Now he was alone in his room. Unlike Silver, he never dreamed of someone mysterious, but sometimes his dreams were accompanied by Silver's melody, which enveloped him. It was his safe haven. And many times he felt curious about the lyrics. It pained him to ask Silver yet, but he always hummed along. He never managed to hear the words, but he did hear the description of the stranger. He had no idea, and he wasn't in the mood to think about who the lucky man could be. But thanks to his romance novels, he thought over and over what the song would be like... and that it would be dedicated to him. Suddenly, he blushed.
"For him to dedicate his beautiful voice, his attention, and his longing... who could that wretch be?"

Back in the present, when he heard Silver sing this time, not just hum, he fell silent. Being able to hear the lyrics this time, and not just the melody... it felt so good. He didn't know exactly what he felt; he was so excited, and it gave him the courage to at least make his feelings for Silver clear.
So when he asked him about the song, he told him what he had dreamed, but this time he didn't feel hurt hearing from that stranger. He simply took Silver's hand and invited him to dance. Silver accepted with a smile, and with that, it was already one of the best days of his life.
As they danced, Silver told him about what had happened in the dream until suddenly, he finished the song:
"Like you once loved me in my dreams."
And he felt connected.
"I think I've just found the man of my dreams."But if I know you, I know what you'll do. You'll love me at once. The way you did once upon a dream."- Silver says with a big smile.
He opened his eyes, and before he could react, Silver kissed him on the cheek.
"I'm sorry, Sebek, you can stop if you want. It's just that... everything I felt in that dream, I felt with you, I'm feeling it right now. When we met, I felt the same warmth as in that dream, that warmth I feel every time I meet your gaze."
As he continued processing, he noticed Silver wiping away his tears. He hadn't realized he was crying. But how he looked at him with such affection
"Please, Silver, sing the whole song for me."
Silver sang and he could only become more captivated .
"And always, I felt loved in that dream, like in every little thing you do for me."
He longed for it so much. As he sang, he felt connected and filled with immense happiness. Sebek ventured:
"When you first started humming it... I was captivated. I felt peace and happiness. Then I saw myself humming it and felt like it belonged to us. I'm in love with you, Silver. And I felt like that song belonged to us, and it seems I wasn't wrong. I feel so happy to be that 'stranger.'"
Silver smiled and grabbed him to kiss him.
"Even before we were little, before we even knew each other, it seems like we were destined for each other."
