Chapter Text
Time had stopped, and they were frozen in this moment of locked lips and finally comfortable silence. Jason kissed like he was testing the waters, afraid of Y/N’s reactions. But he hopes she got the message that he didn't want this to be the last time it happened. The clouds above covered flashes lighting, strikes of pure need hitting the ground. They technically didn’t even kiss, just let their lips graze, sending a raw tingle up and down Y/N’s body. Jason’s hands barely cupped her face, terrified of rejection, but willed enough to continue.
She pulled away, after what felt like hours of stillness, and his hand fell. He was really taking in the gravity of the situation only now, watching her flushed cheeks and horrified reaction.
“Uh-” Jason stumbled, almost wishing he could take it all back. Almost. He was so tense he thought he was gonna pull something. Panic was taking over now, with a huge” WHAT HAVE I DONE?” echoing in his brain. There goes their friendship.
“You just kissed me,” No shit he did, she thought. For once, her mind was blank, and she really likes the feel of her face on his. The currents splashed higher now.
“Uh…”
“Do you want to do it again?”
“Yes, please,” He mumbles in a beat, before diving right back in. This time he’s met in the middle, Y/N leaning in fast, forgetting where she was for a second and only immersing herself in who she's there with.
Their lips crash, and it was like the rain knew how to react to the new found connection Jason found himself in. It started pouring, hard. But he didn’t care, he moved his lips against hers so graciously and scared, picking up with his movements as the rain slammed against their entangled limbs.
Y/N had no idea what she was doing, and she couldn’t care less, for once. All Jason could feel was Y/N on him, and he finally allowed himself to touch her. His shaking landed one on her cheek, smoothing down the pouring rain. The other on her hip, gentle yet consistent. He would never let go, not when she felt so right with her lips dancing with his.
But nevertheless, she pulled back, hands covering her eyes to see him. Even through all the rain, Y/N could see his pink face, eyes lingering all over her face with shock and a very strong need to kiss her again.
“It's pouring,” she shouts, “Cmon,” She grabs his hand, yanking him through the rain. He idly follows her, watching as she forged a path back to her cabin. They both nearly slip on some mud. It was a flurry of emotions and flying mud splatter.
“Gods…” She mumbles, slamming the door behind her with a sheepish grin on her face, after Jason stands too far for his tastes. Water drips onto the wood floor, an uncomfortable silence grows over them, the weight of what they just did lingering. Y/N feels her heart pounding so hard, she might pass out. But she’s not worried, Jason would catch her. That just makes her even more dizzy.
Jason just stares, shaking his hands through his hair, movements careful. Y/N stares at the ground, face flushed and breathing hard. Clothes soaked, and hair damp. The rain from outside has calmed, a small breeze blowing through. He wants to, so bad, resume what they were just doing. Because suddenly being in her cabin alone, without Leo, could mean something so much different than before.
Finally looking up at him, trying so hard not to study the outline of his torso, wet shirt sticking to skin. “So,” Y/N can’t believe she’s trying to make conversation. She hadn’t even realized how badly she wanted to kiss him until ten minutes beforehand.
But she didn’t even have to make more conversation, because he couldn’t hold back anymore, knowing she kissed back. Moving quickly, getting close, but still not even close enough. His body is nearly against her. The restraint it took to not grab her was more discipline than everyday training could ever curse him with. Head tilted up, trying to meet his eyes again, Y/N feels his breath against her face.
“Er- hi,” he mutters, desperate eyes and even more desperate mouths grazing over hers. As if he didn’t put himself in that position, Y/N thinks. She can’t help but grin. He’s adorably respectful.
Cupid hit her really fucking hard.
“Funny guy, aren't you," She mutters, before her hands cup his jaw, bringing him down into another long kiss. Of course, Jason obliges. His hands land on her waist, another on the center of her back, pulling that much closer.
Mouths moving against each other, so gentle it was difficult to feel them there. It was like he learned that kissing her was so much better when she was kissing back. Slowly, the need grew, and Y/N ended up with her back against the door. She couldn’t explain how right this felt, because Jason was so right. He had always been right.
“You’re…so… damp,” Y/N tries to say, breaking out before every hunger kiss with a laugh. Her grip on his shirt was making it that much harder for him to focus on her words.
“Who…..cares,” he breathes against her lips, glasses fogged, eyes barely visible. Jason was so ashamed of how little control he has with her, but her small laugh and wet clothes makes it easier to let it slide. He had her back fulling against the door, fingers creeping at the bottom of her shirt. It's like her vapid scent goes stronger, egging him on.
She was really pushing into this kiss, sucking on each other's lips, entangling her cold fingers into his hair. He found himself melting, knees weak as she pushed off the door and deeper into the cabin. Y/N didn’t know where she was going, kissing Jason was the only thing leaving her. Especially as his hands roamed all over her body, itching for more touch.
She didn’t quit till Jason hit bunk, knees buckling. In this situation, Jason could not be more pleased, because now she's laying on top of him, kissing even harder.
“Wait,” she breathes, letting him sit up. Jason watched as she settled better onto his lap, caged by each of her thighs on either side of him. He couldn't help but blush so hard, he had to look away. Not long before he couldn’t resist having his lips on hers. They crash again, and his grip finds its way to her thighs, shorts riding up ever so slightly. The plushness of her skin anchored her onto him, and him to the world.
Jason never knew how warm someone was.
Y/N had only kissed one person before, and that was Leo. It was very much an accident that they all laugh about most frequently. It was no longer than five seconds, and Y/N nearly threw up from disgust. Sitting on top of Jason’s toned and extremely distracting self was so much different in terms of kissing. Maybe because Leo wasn’t very serious about anything, especially that. Or maybe because Jason here was feeling extra serious about this.
Jason had never kissed anyone, and only recently learned what the Hades it actually was. He’d only seen random mortal couples and a few camp couples kiss. He even saw Leo and Y/N kiss, which was very weird. Weird mainly because it happened years ago, but in the moment he felt so angry. Now he knows that he was angry at Leo, for not begging to be replaced by him. It was ridiculous, the concept of kissing. Until he realized how agonizing it was to not kiss Y/N.
And they were loving it, kiss after kiss, only sharp breathes and beating hearts audible. Jason’s mouth was going overtime, body going into overdrive. She managed to kiss over the scar on his upper lip, triggering every feeling he has ever felt in his entire life. He groaned into her mouth, and she only did it more.
How did she even know that would work?
At the nape of his neck her hands lingered, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt and lost strands of hair. She would breathe harder, nearly gasping when his warm hands slipped under her shirt. She didn’t even realize how cold she was, because the heat exuding from all over her was warm enough. But Jason appreciated every pant from her, because that just meant she had liked him just as much as he did.
“Take off your shirt,” She panted, finally pulling away after what seemed like too long and not long enough. Lips swollen, Jason leans forward, with a frown. He didn’t like this intermission, and his face got even redder.
“W-what?”
“I-i meant like it's wet. I don’t wanna sleep in a wet bed,” She stammers, realizing her words. Not that she wouldn’t mind what he was thinking.
“Right, o-ok,” He obeys, letting her wrap her legs around him, sitting on his knees. Tanned perfection was the perfect way to describe Jason’s shirtless body, as he pulls it off quickly in one mesmerizing swoop. It’s like his back muscles were letting out a sigh of relief to be freed.
When their eyes meet again, blue eyes studying her, he realizes how beautiful she was for the third time today. Enchanting, like a beauty no man would ever think of escaping, embracing its every detail.
The moments over once again when she leaps off of him and over to her dresser, picking out the largest shirt she can find. Y/N throws it at him, hitting him square in the face.
“Don’t get too comfortable,” She snickers, watching as his frown returns. But not for long, because she backed him again, flushing against him. Her hands sink into his scalp, skin burning where his hands would stroke, teasing more tough the higher it went.
She was so relieved to finally grasp what her uncharacteristic anger was, because she couldn’t bear the news of her unrequited feelings. Her burning feelings that made her eyes sting every time she looked at him. Now she can see all over him, and be so close that she won’t let herself ever forget anything about it. She would never leave him again.
Like she ever wanted to in the first place.
“You’re so pretty,” He murmurs against her jaw, kissing all down her neck. Y/N couldn’t explain the euphoria of the moment, where his lips landed on the space in between her jaw and neck. It felt so good it hurt.
“No, you’re prettier,” she half gasps, half laughs, cupping his face to meet his lips again. Jason couldn’t help but smile into the kiss, wishing he could frame this moment.
No one told them what to do, or how to do it. No one told them that she should or should not be kissing. Jason, for once, couldn’t care less. He was embracing the love she had for Y/N, proving to her that he couldn’t love anyone the same. Out of all the rules he’d set for himself, he would break them all if it meant for more time with Y/N.
“You know….” Y/N tried to speak through kisses, pulling and pushing like a magnet.
“What-” He cuts himself off, groaning at a slight tug of his hair.
“A slurpee right ... .now world be..awesome,” She breathes, pulling back with her chest rising and falling at the pace in which they’d been kissing at.
Narrowed eyes, he whines with his thumb rubbing small circles on her thighs, “Right now? In the middle of-”
“It sounds good. Cooling off.” Jason couldn’t believe the smugness on her face. He knew that Y/N would have a slurpee anytime, anywhere. Her commitment was terrifying. But the fact that he’d wait a billion years if it meant her sitting so perfecting on top of him, staring up at him like this again meant that he would do anything for her.
“I-”
“Please? All we gotta do is find a semi close place to get one without blowing it up,” she grins, knowing that her stare would make him fold. She just had to ask nicely.
“Do you have to look at me like that?” Her eyes flicker to his lips, landing so softly again that he was definitely going to explode another convenience store. With a surrendering smile, he grumbled.
“Fine,” Y/N squealed, giving him another long kiss before jumping off and finding her favorite rain jacket. It didn’t fit her, but she insisted on wearing it, hair peeking from behind before tossing him her wallet. She looked even better than before.
“You’re actually the best,”
“I think I love you,” he barely whispers, so faintly he couldn’t even hear himself saying it.
“What?” her head snaps back, catching only the words “love.” A word she had feared for so long, and almost hearing it from the guys she actually believed to love was even scarier. But that was a problem for another day when he scratched his neck mumbling some stupid excuse that Y/N actually believed.
“Jason loved slurpees. Y/N loved slurpees.” They love each other, but they don’t need to know that so soon.
“You’re ridiculous,” She laughs, louder than she had for a while. Jason always managed to do that.
“You’re more ridiculous,” he chuckles, letting her grab his hand, and intertwine their fingers. It was just so perfect, like his hand was made to be in hers.
So they began their walk outside, rainclouds fully cleared. The lake nearby was calm, currents smooth and steady. The tree nymphs nearby giggled at the sight of the pair exchanging quick kisses.
For once, the storm had calmed. Because to brave the storm, all they needed was each other.
