Chapter Text
More than a week passed, Oscar and you were gradually getting closer. You liked his dead pan humor, and he likes (or at least you think) your dumb jokes. You went home for the weekend, and Oscar didn't for..obvious reasons. So, when you saw him in class on Monday, you decided to make a bold move and ask him if he missed you over the weekend.
- So, did you miss my ass during the last two days? - you smirked, hoping to get some kind of reaction out of the Aussie. He looked at you with a blank stare, not even the usual awkward Oscar smile, just a raised brow.
- What made you think, am I so obvious? - he snapped back at you. You didn't expect this, yet the sarcasm was obvious in his voice.
- Very obvious, Piastri. What did you do over the weekend? - you tried to continue the conversation, not really knowing how to handle the situation you brought upon yourself.
- Not much, met up with some friends, went carting, died of boredom and started doing homework. And on that note, what did you get for problem five? - Oscar asked, opening his homework on his laptop. You look at it trying to see what he did and if he did anything wrong.
- Well, I got 2,5 as it says in the solutions and I think you got this integral wrong right there.. - you pointed at the last row and Oscar made an oooh sound.
- That makes so much sense now, thank you for that. - he gave you a smile and wrote down what you pointed out.
Soon after, the professor entered and another day of lectures started.
Your last lecture of the day got canceled, which gave you two extra hours in your day to spend on something productive, or to scroll online and read fanfiction on Tumblr. You were getting ready to head to your room for a potential nap, which had popped up into your mind just then, but your daydreams of your bed were cut short by Oscar.
- Oi, would you like to go study with me, like, at the library? - you shot him a glare. Study? At the library? On a Monday?
- Ughh, if you wanna spend time with me, just say so, we don't have to study.. - now he was the one who wasn't amused. He gave you that straight face like that one white cat meme.
- As much as I enjoy talking to you, I was thinking we could do homework, so I wouldn't get stuck. You seem to be getting it better than me for now.. - he was honest, and you admired that, someone else wouldn't have outright said that.
- Ah, Oscar, sure. But only because it's you. I would prefer going to a coffee shop though.. - you could at least have more fun at a coffee shop than just at the library, like a nice coffee with some kind of pastry..
- Oh and we could get something sweet there too. - Oscar pulled you out of your thoughts about sweets with an even sweeter sentence.
- You and I are best friends from today. Let's go. - you started happily skipping next to him, more as a joke than an honest reaction, but he didn't seem to mind and even found it amusing and gave you exactly one skip along with you.
You didn't go far from campus, the first coffee shop which offered sweets was good enough for both of you, and even the tables were big enough to have room to study and write. Oscar ordered a regular late and chocolate cake, while you got a mocha with a classic black forest cake. For the most part, both of you did actually study, asking questions if one of you had any problems with homework or certain concepts. Your cake was quite nice, but his cake was looking lustfully at you the whole time.
- Hey Osc, would you mind if I stole a bit of your cake? - you asked, hoping to not come off as weird or something. Oscar looked up at you from his screen and raised his left eyebrow at you.
- I would mind, yes. - well fuck, that's one way to make a fool of yourself, but before you could speak up, Oscar continued - But if you gave a a bit of yours, we could have a deal. - he said with a cheeky smile, noticing your immediate panic after the first response.
- Then we do have a deal. - with that you handed your plate to Oscar and he gave you a weird and confused look. You started panicking again at this reaction because what could this possibly mean?
- Who said I was talking about that cake? - now you were the one looking at him confused, he sounded almost playful with his response.
- What cake were you talking about? I only see two cakes in front of us, unless you mean ordering another one. - you said but Oscar just shrugged his shoulders and gave you an almost annoyed look.
- Y/n, I am trying to flirt with you. - he said, point blank. You were surprised and felt your face heating up.
