You come back to your apartment after a long day, the orange glow of the setting sun peeped in through the window. You plop down on your comfy sofa, feeling the wariness sink deep into your bones. You decide to take a small nap and lay your head on one of the fluffy blue cushions decorating your sofa and using the throw as a blanket. You end up dozing off for a long time.
Caleb had been waiting for you to get back home so he could surprise you with a visit. He waits outside your door with a bag of food in one hand and rings the bell. Hearing no response he starts tapping his foot on the wooden floors getting more worried by the minute. "Pips? Its me Caleb." Still nothing. He remembers you telling him about the emergency key you had hidden in a vase outside. Caleb fishes for the key with his hand, and beneath the flowers he finds a key.
After knocking once more and hearing no response or movement from inside, he unlocks your door. Caleb's worry melts away instantly as he finds you fast asleep, curled up on the sofa. He gently caressed your cheek. His violet eyes gazed at your sleeping face with love and adoration. "You'll get a sore back if you sleep on the couch pipsqueak." He carefully lifts you up in his strong arms, holding you close to his chest. Caleb settles you down on your bed pulling your blanket over you and tucking you in. "Sweet dreams Pipsqueak."
He was about to leave as he hears you stir. "Caleb?" He returned to your side. "hey there sleepyhead., I got worried so I used your emergency key" You rub your eyes. "Sorry Caleb.. did you have to wait a lot?" He shakes his head. "Just wanted to surprise you pips. Aaand I brought dinner" You sit up in bed, excited at the thought of food with a smile on your face. "Dinner?" He nods. "I guessed you were having a long day.. and it looks like I guessed right"
You get up from bed and walk over to him. "What did you make?" Caleb gives you a big hug lifting you off the ground, making you giggle. "I made stir fried veggies and some fried rice. I also brought you those candies you liked as a kid.." You hug him back. "You're spoiling me Caleb." He sets you down, his arms still wrapped around your waist. "You deserve to be spoiled rotten pips.."
