Chapter Text
The two are both brilliant minds seeking immortality, and they’re both willing to harm innocent children in order to accomplish that goal. The two of them both endured something that would have killed most men, but came back stronger because of it. They both possess massive egos, and they both take pride in their work. They also both worked at establishments meant to bring joy to children, but ended up twisted by their ambitions.
William began as a businessman and eventually became a scientist, while Harley was a scientist from day one. William ended up springlocked because of his own hubris, while Harley was transformed into his current state by his co-workers. While Afton relishes in the torment he inflicts, Sawyer is completely apathetic to the harm he causes, merely viewing it as a means to an end. And while Afton was (supposedly) motivated by the loss of his child, Harley was motivated by the rejection of a father-figure. Additionally, Springtrap is one singular being, Harley operates a series of bodies at once.
