Chapter Text
Natalie walks over to the next save station.
Color: What even IS that?
Frisk: I don’t know. But I think it’s important.
Frisk: (Otherwise I wouldn’t feel so drawn to it.)
Natalie: Huh, didn’t expect them to acknowledge the save stations. Neat!
Color: Save stations?
Frisk: I guess that’s what they’re called.
Frisk: (Ah, and don’t acknowledge that voice.)
Natalie: Whoa, they even call them save stations?
Color: Why?
Natalie: Ooh, even questioning it?
Natalie: Wonder what the explanation is gonna be?
Frisk: Uh….
Frisk: (Well, some ghosts are different. Some of them have their own delusions.)
Frisk: (It’s always better not to break those delusions. They can become violent if you do.)
Natalie: Do I just-
Frisk: …..I guess they’re just called that. Maybe cause they feel safe or something?
Color: Really?
Frisk: Mhm.
Frisk: (Yeah, really. They can’t hear my thoughts either.)
Frisk: I mean, I dunno. About those save station things.
Frisk: Does that really matter right now? I feel we have more important things to worry about.
Natalie: Fair enough, lol.
Color: Okay, we won’t!
Color: Yeah, we’ll be good!
The duo walk in through the door.
Natalie: Aw, how precious.
Color: Hehe!
Natalie: What’s-
The bathroom door starts to open as they spot Toriel, and are quickly cut off by panicked ghosts.
Color: Danger!
Color: One of them’s here!
Frisk quickly steps away from the door, crouching down and covering their mouth. Their heart is racing.
Frisk: (Crap. Did it hear me?)
Natalie: Oh god!
Natalie: Oh, that scared me.
Natalie: Hoo, okay.
Natalie: I guess we can crouch now.
Natalie: That’s good. Wasn’t sure how hard fighting off these guys would be.
Frisk: (Oh they cannot be serious.)
Natalie: I don’t know why the tutorial is here though. I crouched earlier.
Frisk: (Tutorial?)
Color: The-
Frisk: Shh!
Natalie: Haha.
Natalie: So! We gotta sneak around them?
Natalie: Just gotta stay low, and-
Natalie makes a move to go to the door.
Color: She’ll spot you!
Color: Not that way!
Natalie: Okay, do we need to find another way, or-
Frisk whispers.
Frisk: Is there another way around?
Color: No…
Color: Not that I can see.
Natalie: So we do have to go that way!
Frisk grumbles.
Frisk: Great. Now what?
Natalie: I’ll just-
Natalie attempts to move towards the door again.
Color: No!
Color: Are you crazy?!
Frisk pulls back.
Natalie: Okay, then what do we do?
Frisk: What should we do?
Color: Um….
Color: You need to distract her.
Natalie: Distractions, got it.
Frisk: (Distract her? Obviously.)
Frisk: (But with what?)
But Natalie crouches towards the paint cans and knocks them over.
Natalie: Perfect! Distraction done.
Frisk: Huh? Did I-
Color: Quiet!
Frisk: (Right!)
While Toriel approaches the paint cans, the duo slip into the bathroom.
Color: That was really smart!
Natalie: Thank you, thank you.
Frisk: (I think that was an accident, but….thanks.)
The two slip out the other door, still staying low to the ground.
Color: Yeah!
Color: Shh!
The pair glance at Toriel’s back as they sneak past her. It’s quiet, and the air is tense, except for a slight muttering.
Color: Come on…come on….
The two slip around the corner.
Color: You did it!
Color: Yay!
Natalie: Man, that was tense! I was so on edge there.
Natalie straightens up, but Frisk quickly crouches back down.
Natalie: Eh?
Frisk: (We shouldn’t get compliant yet. We’re not out of the woods.)
Frisk: (Ah, wait.)
Frisk speaks softly, moving further away.
Frisk: We shouldn’t get compliant. We’re not out of the woods yet.
Natalie: Right, it’s not over!
The two continue creeping, but then Natalie straightens up.
Natalie: Well, we’ll hide if we see something.
Frisk: (Yeah, that’s-)
Frisk: (Wait..)
Frisk flinches at the loud sound of the door opening, but Natalie presses on through.
Natalie: Geez, this place is big.
Frisk: (I shouldn’t…)
Natalie: We should be able to run, right?Oh right, I forgot we can run.
Natalie sprints.
Natalie: There we are! That’s much better!
Frisk: That wasn’t- I didn’t-
Natalie: What is it?
Color: Are you okay, Frisk?
Frisk: Ugh, just…
Frisk: gimme a second.
They lean against the wall and take a few deep breaths, shaking their head, holding their head.
Natalie: Oh no. What’s wrong with them?
Frisk: I’m fine, I just…
They sigh and shake their head.
Frisk: Just needed a moment to steady myself.
Frisk: Let’s keep going.
The duo keep pushing forward. They cross dark hallways and unfinished storage rooms.
Natalie: I hope nothing bad happens to them.
Frisk: I told you, I’m fine.
They speak with a bit of an edge in their voice.
Frisk: Stop worrying.
They shrug it off.
Frisk: The air of this place was just getting to me, or something.
Frisk: I’m not really used to places like this.
Frisk: And it’s late too.
Frisk: Plus, this whole situation.
Frisk: It would be weird if I was completely normal, right?
Natalie: Fair enough lol.
Natalie: I wonder if they’re going to have a breakdown about this later.
Frisk: (I mean, maybe? Probably?)
Frisk: (I don’t really have time for one, but maybe if I get in a safe space or something?)
Frisk: (I dunno, we’ll just have to see.)
