Chapter Text
Dear reader,
If you've reached this chapter, it means you've read the whole book. I want to thank you for that, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
I have a bachelor's in creative writing, and I had been professionally writing for years, although sporadically. That said, English is not my first language, so you'll forgive me the occasional mistake, and perhaps the sentences that run a little too long. I have always had a tendency to be verbose, as you may have noticed by now.
The idea for the character of Morgana Prewett began around a decade ago, perhaps more. Many things changed with time, and recently I found myself with some spare time to dedicate to it.
I have always been passionate about Harry Potter and the Wizarding World. I grew up with it. I'm in my late thirties, so you'll understand I quite literally grew up alongside the actors who gave these characters a face.
I have read the books around seven times, some of them even more. My favourite is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, personally the best book and the worst film. What I love about it is the way it reaches back to explain what came before, the level of detail, the hints woven into every chapter. In a way, that's what I've tried to do with this fanfiction.
Something else that was essential to me was not going against canon in any significant way. I tried to be as canon-compliant as I could, and although this is not the real story behind the original saga, I like to think it fits well enough that it possibly could be.
The more I wrote, the more I fell in love with my two original main characters, Morgana and Priscilla. Their story is not over yet. I have two more books in mind.
Morgana Prewett and the Origins of the Phoenix was published on AO3 starting in early March 2026, and I managed to publish one chapter a day, completing the novel in the space of a month. I hope you'll stay for books two and three.
There is one more thing. The first chapter of the second book, Morgana Prewett and the First Wizarding War, will be online tomorrow. A small gift for those of you who arrived here and want to know how the story continues.
The first book covers a timeline running from 1946 to 1970. The second will follow the First Wizarding War, from 1970 to 1981. The third will begin with the onset of the Second Wizarding War in 1995 and carry through to the end, and a little beyond.
I don't want to rewrite the original story. I want to give more. As a reader myself, I've never made peace with the fact that there is no more. So I created, for myself and for everyone who loved this story and its characters.
If you have any suggestions or questions, feel free to ask.
Thank you again for your support.
With love,
Claire
