Chapter Text

Aaron walked through the woods at a leisurely pace. He wasn’t in any rush to find Aphmau. With the way this mod seemed to work, even if she found herself in danger she’d be able to get herself out of it with ease. She likely ran off to have some fun, maybe start some mischief. Aaron would find her eventually, and he’d join her if she’d have him.

A few minutes later, he heard some muffled giggles. Aphmau had never been quite as stealthy as she thought she was and it didn’t take him long to pinpoint which tree she was hiding in the leaves of. He sat at the base of it and leaned back against the trunk.

After a moment of silence, he spoke. “So, are you gonna come down from there or just keep watching me?”

She made a contemplative noise. “Mm, I don’t know, it’s pretty comfortable up here.”

“Crouched on a branch? Doesn’t sound particularly cozy.”

“I just wished for it to be comfy,” she said before her tone turned excited. “Have you made any wishes yet?”

He shook his head. “Nope. I don’t have anything I need to wish for.” And it was true. He was perfectly content at this moment. He had everything he needed right there.

“Boo, that’s boring. Come on, there’s gotta be something you want!”

“I just said there isn’t-”

She gasped. “I know!”

A ball of light started to form beside Aaron. In a matter of seconds, it turned into a small wolf.

“I wished for you to have a wolf buddy!” Aphmau said, clearly delighted.

He stared at the pup for a moment before petting it. “Thanks,” he said. He didn’t need this wolf, per se, especially because everything in this dimension would probably cease to exist once the mod was removed, but it was adorable. It laid its head in his lap, and the moment felt even more complete.

But that peace didn’t last as long as Aaron would have liked. After what felt like mere minutes of calm, they could hear commotion coming from the path they spawned on.

“What’s going on?” Aphmau asked, but before he could say a word she had already leapt down from the tree and started walking towards the noise.

He sighed and followed her. She wouldn’t be keen on ignoring this like he was so tempted to, and they could always have more moments of peace in the future. He was in no rush; he could wait until the next period of calm to spend time with her again.

Notes:

Sorry for such a short chapter. I don't think the next one will be much longer, but chapters after that should have a bit more sustenance. I hope you enjoyed this quick Aarmau fluff and, as always, thank you for reading.

Notes:

I hope you enjoyed the first chapter! Like I mentioned earlier, the next chapter shouldn't take months to get posted. I'm not sure when I'll have it finished, but I'll upload it as soon as I do. The first few chapters will likely be pretty short, but they'll get longer as the story progresses.
Thank you for reading. Have a fantastic day.
