Chapter Text
Ash focuses on making a plan on how to take over a server so maybe the Spanish people realise he isn't listening and go away so he can talk with Ewron.
He is pulled out of his mind by the red panda. Urging him to go to a fence around a small patch of greenery. “Ash, Ash can you break this block?”
The server is still about to start and they are in a lobby where breaking anything is disabled. But Ash tries anyway knowing it's useless.”No I cannot.”
Ewron says only one word and it's enough.“Look.”
Then Ewron pulls out a moss block, Ash's eye widens. It's impossible. How didn't he get that moss block? Frantically Ash searches different commands, his inventory just to see if he can find some kind of exploit.
“How is that possible?” The red panda says as if asking himself. Ash looks into the hybrid's eyes and he knows something is going on but he cannot figure out what.
How did the red panda get a moss block?
“How?” He asks, stunned. Letting the emotion slip, too shocked to mask it with an unimpressed scowl. The panda is an assassin, does he know about certain glitches that Robert Lewandowski teaches him? Ash doesn't think that assassins know much about exploits.
The panda grinned and got uncomfortably close. And stood on his tippy toss to whisper into Ash's ear. “I have, a power.”
Ash's first honest reaction is to push the panda away and don't let him get closer. But the warm body so close to his own cold one made him suppress those urges.
“What kind of power?” He whispered back playing this stupid game that Ewron decided to play.
The panda chuckled, and pulled away, but still stood too close, that stupid smirk still in place as his tail swung from side to side. Playful. “I can make people disappear.”
“How” Ash repeats himself like a broken record this time he kept his tone under wraps and it sounds more demanding than shocking.
The pandas expression, his blue eyes are also staring at Ash intently. Observing him in a similar way Ash is observing him. Without moving his eyes the hybrid puts back the moss block inside his inventory.
“I'm not sure if I can trust you.” He says with fake sadness in his eyes and a dramatic gasp. Ash can feel his impatience and if the stupid panda doesn't hurry up he will be the first to kill of the server.
He clenches his jaw and says through grinned teeth. “Let me know if I can do something to earn your trust.“
Ewron smiles wider as if he knows Ash's every secret. Stupid. Ash has one of the best poker faces. The man in front of him was definitely a fool. A fool who knew how to play his cards right. A fool who knew how to change faces on a whim.
The assassin training still needs to be put on a test, but it's already a promising partnership.
“We will meet on the server then I can teach you my powers.” The Hybrid promises.
“And then we'll kill everyone.”Ash says just to make it seem like he still cares and isn't planning a dictatorship that will take over the entire server.
“Yes.” The Hybrid laughs ecstatic, his tail shakes with the force of his giggles. Ash focuses on the small fangs made to chew fucking leaves, and wonders how did the red panda even became an assassin.
Oh right his neighbour was Robert Lewandowski and he picked up a few things from him.
“Remember what I said orbital strike cannon.” He reminds Ewron as the guy didn't really shine with intelligence.
“Yes I remember.” Ewron jokingly salutes with his tail standing still for a moment, a semi- serious expression takes over for a moment then The smirk comes back.
“Good” Ash says not impressed with the antics of the hybrid.
The hybrid rummages for something in his inventory and pulls out a familiar moss block. “I will give it to you as a sign of trust.”
Their hands make a brief contact as Ewron gives him the moss block.
“Damn.” He whispers to himself. Ash looks at the moss block and realises how normal it looks, definitely not glitched.
“Hide it, hide it.” The red panda tried to cover the moss block with his own body and looked around to see if anyone saw anything. After a second when he was satisfied that nobody saw anything and took a step back.
The hybrid is good at pretending, not exposing all his cards. In fact the guy is so good that he might have lied to Ash and he probably didn't notice.
“Thank you Ewron.” Ash forces a smile and tries to make it look natural, but after a second his expression fades into the stern expression it was from the start.
“I gave it to you as a sign of trust.“ The red panda tries to pat him on a shoulder, a reassuring gesture. But Ashswag’s lifesteal instincts take over and he grabs the hand before it can make contact with his shoulder.
Both stare at each other for a few seconds, Ewron's face twists into a one of surprise then a malicious smirk. It seemed more true than the other ones Ash saw during their short interaction.
Ash lets go of Ewron's hand and fixes his suit.
Ewron only nods and turns his back to Ash, slowly walking away.
“I'm not gonna forget this.”
