Chapter Text
Once you have led Poppy to a room that you noticed earlier. you start to write down your question when she speaks up saying that she was wishing to talk to you so you give her an inquisitive look. and you erased what has been written on your whiteboard already and rewrite
(what did you want to talk to me about). She says her plan to defeat the prototype and with that she begins to explain “that you will redirect the poppy gas into the foundation, and once you have freed the orphans that the people of Safe Haven will ignite blowing this place up and burying the prototype in the process.”
you’re unsatisfied with this answer and write on your whiteboard. (what will happen to the toys here). She looks confused for a moment and says “what will happen to who?” and you clarify (What will happen to the people here at Safe Haven if we blow up the building). At that, Poppy just looked incredibly confused. And it takes her a moment to say that “they will most likely get caught in the crossfire”. your blood turns to ice for a moment. You could tell she’s trying to be vague, but it doesn’t help that much because you can tell what she means is that they will die and you write that down on the right board asking her (so they will die).
With that she let out a small chuckle and asked “if they are truly living in this place.” This causes you to freeze for a moment because how could Poppy say this. Before you write (they may not quite be living, but they are trying, and they are living to the best of their abilities). And she actually looks a little angry now, and says “that they aren’t living and that it might just be better if they were dead because then they could at least rest in peace.” It takes you a moment for this to register in your mind and when it does horror and anger flood through your body, because how could she say this because (they’re still living people) they’re still children, right.
And when you express this to her, she gets angry and yells “They are going to die anyway here at least this way they can die without going crazy from hunger.” And in response, you quickly write (they have survived this long without going crazy and with the defeat of the doctor there are more areas to search for food and if we end up, defeating the prototype there'll be plenty of food because they can leave and come back with more for them or they could go to another place). Once you notice that she has finished reading it, you notice that she looks panicked and scared and angry and when you’re about to write something else,to ask if she’s OK or to try to help calm her down, she pushes you into the wall, causing a loud thud to ring out. With that she looks even more panicked and when you finally look at her, you notice that it looks like she’s trying to say something and then in a hesitant voice. she says “we can’t leave here because it will just happen again.” and that causes you to realize that they truly can’t because if they’re spotted they most likely will get dragged off to a lab somewhere and get experimented on, which is not what they want at all because they planned the whole event to stop the experimentation on them and when you’re about to write on your whiteboard. you notice Kissy and Doey in the door they look very concerned
