Chapter Text

”Rough day, huh?”

Logan resists the urge to turn face the source of the voice, completely unfazed and face blank. He doesn’t respond. One might think he wasn’t even actually conscious if it weren’t for the slow rise and fall of his chest.

“We gonna talk about it, or…?”

A beat. Then,

“There’s nothing to talk about.”

“Ah! So he speaks!”

Logan huffs. “Go away, Remus.” He turns away from Remus, moving to lie back on his bed.

Remus fixes Logan with an uncharacteristically intense gaze, usual smile faltering for a moment before pressing on, sitting down on the other side of Logan’s bed.

“Do you wanna talk about it?”

“No.”

“Do you wanna talk about *anything*?”

“No.”

“Do you *want* anything??”

“Peace and quiet.”

Remus playfully bats a hand in Logan’s direction, laughing. “Well you’re not gettin’ that with *me*, nerd.”

“You *could* leave,” Logan mutters, swatting Remus’ hand away.

Remus grins, moving to sit by Logan’s head. “I’d be thankful if I were you, dork.” He flicks Logan on the forehead, sticking his tongue out.

“And I should be thankful *why*?” Logan scoffs, absentmindedly rubbing the affected spot on his forehead.

Remus rolls his eyes, mocking offense. “Hey now! I dunno know if you noticed, buuuut I’m kinda the only one who actually bothered to come check on you after your little…tantrum. Makes you think, huh?”

“I can handle myself just fine.” Logan turns on his side, facing away from Remus.

“Tell that to the way you ‘handled’ everything downstairs earlier!” Remus laughs, leaning over Logan and sticking his face in Logan’s ‘personal space bubble.’

“It was pointless to continue arguing. The conversation was going nowhere, and people were just getting hurt.” Logan said, shoving Remus’s face away and sitting up.

“I can think of a few reasons why you should have continued.” Remus said simply, having recovered and now stretching out across Logan’s lap. Logan must really be upset, Remus thinks, because he doesn’t even seem to care or notice.

“Do go on,” Logan says, voice dripping with sarcasm.

“Gladly!” Remus starts, ignoring the tone. “First off, you should really get those feelings of yours out more often. Keeping it all inside is bad for that big ol’ brain of yours. That’s why I just say what’s on my mind all the time!”

“I am certain that no one would appreciate any expression of feelings coming from me, Remus. It is in your nature, but not in mine. I did not think you would suggest a solution that was so…er…stupid, for lack of a better word.” Logan glances down, noticing that Remus is on top of him. “Get off of me.”

“Oh boo…you’re no fun.” Remus pouts, crossing his arms. He knows Logan is in a bad mood, so he’ll let the ‘stupid’ comment go for now. He doesn’t remove himself from Logan.

“Yes, that’s rather the point,” Logan deadpans, giving Remus a look. There’s no noise for a moment while the two have a silent stare-down.

Remus sighs, breaking eye contact. “Bored.”

“And how is that *my* problem?”

“Because I’m making it your problem?”

“No thank you.”

“Why not? Too busy wallowing in your feelings?”

“No,” Logan says through gritted teeth, pushing Remus off of him. He might have pushed a bit too hard though, because Remus goes tumbling off the side of the bed. Shocked, Logan peers over the side of the bed, not saying or doing anything else.

“Yeah I’m fine, thanks for asking.”

“I assumed you would be,” Logan shrugs after recovering, offering a hand to Remus. Remus takes it, but instead of using it to stand up, he pulls Logan onto the floor with him.

“Y’know, I could get used to being in this position,” Remus says, grinning madly, from underneath Logan.

“Nope,” Logan says quickly, popping the ‘p’. He climbs off of Remus, only to have his arm grabbed before he can move away.

Logan glares back at Remus, anger rising in his chest. “Let. Go.”

Remus grins. “Not ‘til you stop acting like a little shit.” He yanks Logan back onto the ground, receiving an even angrier look from the man. “You need to chill out, man. I know that if you walk away now, you’re just gonna keep being all…like this. It’s getting *pretty* annoying, Lo-Lo.”

Logan rolls his eyes, having now accepted his place on the ground and sitting criss-cross. “Well, all the more reason to leave me be.”

“Nuh-uh-uh-uh-uh. You’re just gonna keep sulking and bottling your lil ol’ feelings up even more, and no one’s gonna like that! Sooooooooo…you might as well at least talk to me about your feelings. It’s not like I’m gonna do anything with whatever you say anyway, no one listens to me. I’ll just bug you about it when we’re alone or something.”

Logan raises an eyebrow. “‘When we’re alone?’ That is rather presumptuous of you. Who says I want to be alone with you?”

“I do. There’s nothing keeping you from actually physically leaving the room. You could like..sink out, or just walk out the door, or something else. You’re smart, you’d think of *something*.”

Logan opens his mouth to speak, but falters, quickly shutting his mouth and averting his gaze. Remus is all too pleased. “Now! We’re gonna talk about your feelings one way or another, so what’s it gonna be?”

———

“…and sometimes I just want to wrap my hands around his neck and strangle him to- well, whatever comes closest to death for us, I suppose.”

“Ooh! Kinky~”

Logan sighs. “No.”

Remus sticks his tongue out at Logan, who, by some stroke of luck, is in enough of a mood to do the gesture right back. Remus’s face lights up. “Sooo…did venting all your frustration help at all?”

“Hah! That is *not* all of it. But to answer your question, it did. I cannot believe I am saying this, but you were rather helpful for once.”

Remus smiles again. Finally, his efforts are being recognized. “You’re too sweet,” he beams, crushing Logan in a hug. “Thanks, Logan!”

“Do not make me regret what I said…” Logan groans. He places his hands on Remus’s chest to push him away, but gives up when Remus hugs him tighter in retaliation. He keeps his hands there, just allowing Remus’s attack of affection to run its course.

A minute or so later, Remus lets go, still gripping Logan by the shoulders. “That was nice.”

They make eye contact. Neither looks away for the longest time, until…

“You gonna keep your hands on me, or?”

“Huh? Oh!” Logan jerks his hands away, letting them fall back to his side.

“Not that I’m complaining,” Remus winks.

“Oh stop it.”

“C’monnn. You know you love me~”

“Yes, yes, whatever you say,” Logan waves him off, putting some space between them.

Remus gasps—rather dramatically if you ask Logan—and falls onto Logan, pretending to faint. “He admits it at last!”

Logan scoffs, but can’t fight back a small smile from forming. He turns his head away, covering his mouth with a hand.

———

Virgil stands outside the door, ear pressed to the wood, Roman and Patton standing behind him. They all speak in hushed tones.

Virgil turns to face them, grimacing. “Those two are so weird, ugh.”

“What’d they say?” Roman and Patton ask at the same time.

“Don’t worry about it. I think, weirdly enough, Remus…uh…helped? Helped Logan? I dunno. Logan said something about wanting to strangle you Roman, then Remus told Logan he loves him. Typical, uh…typical Remus, I guess. I dunno, I’m too tired for this shit.”

Roman goes silent. Then charges at Logan’s door, shouting.

“YOU PRICKS! LET ME IN! WHAT ARE YOU SAYING ABOUT ME? WHATEVER IT IS YOU CAN SAY IT TO MY FACE. I CAN HANDLE IT.”

Patton and Virgil exchange exhausted looks.
