Chapter Text
Everything became a blur. A lot has happened and I have no idea why it has come to this situation. I wasn't supposed to be here. Literally. But, I somehow got transported—I'm not Yuu or anything. I'm just myself.
Did I die when I fell asleep? That's my only conclusion. However, if I'm dead then I should be a ghost or something.
We are now inside of the massive library of Night Raven College. Books float around the library going back into their places. I thought It'll be dark inside but it was well lit.
We came here to find a book or some sort of information about our world.
(O)
“OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!”
He said, his red hair and grey eyes glowed with the blue flames around the school. This must be Riddle Rosehearts.
“MYAH?!” Grim finally stopped his attack. “What are you doing?”
“The Queen of Heart's Rule 23: One must never bring a cat to a formal affair.” He said. “Your very presence here is a violation of order. You will vacate these premises immediately.”
“But I ain't a cat either!”
Yeah, Grim isn't a cat. HE'S A MENACE TO SOCIETY.
“Don't you try'n collar me! I'll burn it right off!” He tried using his magic but nothing came out. “Huh…? Wah-what gives? My fire ain't workin’!”
This is interesting… The story came off-script but now it came back to its original plot… the timing wasn't great but It seems everything will be fine…
“Until I deign to remove that collar, you won't be using any magic. You're naught but a pet cat now.” Riddle grinned. His expression is scary under that cloak of him.
“I ain't nobody's pet-NOTHING!”
“Oh, you've nothing to worry about there. I certainly have no interest in having you as a pet.”
Way too harsh Riddle… But. Real.
“The collar will disappear once you're removed from campus.”
I wonder what it would feel like if I was collared. Even if I don't have magic—It would certainly be heavy and embarrassing walking around the campus with it.
Then, a silver haired man with glasses suddenly spoke. Azul! “Ha-HA! Good show as always, Riddle. Your signature spell locks down any magic. It's quite handy.”
Hah… I want to have magic. Not gonna lie.
“I've just GOT to have it—ah, I mean, I've just got to have respect for it.”
“Yuu! Was I not clear that you are expected to take responsibility for your familiar?”
I looked at Yuu. Yuu looked at him.
“Now discipline your—”
“That Furball is not mine.”
I snicker a laugh. Seemed like Yuu like the name I gave for Grim.
“It isn't yours?” Crowley was dumbfounded now.
“I've never seen that creature before in my life!”
“What about you?” Crowley looked at me.
I can feel his gaze behind that mask. “If I ever have a pet.. It's definitely not that.”
He coughed again, “Then I shall have it expelled from campus.” He paused. “I shall even spare it from being served as dinner.”
To this day, I don't even know if he was joking in the last line. I do wish he was lying.
“But I AM kind.” Really? “...Someone take this away, please.”
“Noooo! Let me goooooo!” Grim the Furball pleaded. “MY NAME IS GRIM! You fools better remember my name!”
And thennnnn… he was taken away.
“I feel kind of sorry for him.”
“Don't be, Yuu.”
Because he… will… be… fine.
“House wardens, please escort your students back to their dorms.” Crowley began talking to the other housewarden “Come to think of it, I don't see Housewarden Draconia of House Diasomnia anywhere.”
“Did anyone even invite him?”
I sighed. Malleus forgotten again.
But now, the plot isn't right… the timing isn't right… This was supposed to happen first before talking to the Dark Mirror. Right? Or am I wrong?
“Tell me: Both of you. From what land do you hail?”
“I'm from…” Yuu and I both spoke at the same time. Our place is the same but everything is twisted.
Crowley took some time to think. “I'm afraid I am not familiar with such a place.”
I'm going to faint at this situation. Now I thought about my loved ones—probably posting up missing posters or preparing my funeral if my so-called body is there but deep-asleep aka not breathing.
“I am intimately acquainted with the origins of every student who has ever come here, and yet…” Silence etched the place. “This mysterious homeland of yours eludes me.”
Maybe all of this was a dream? I couldn't say for sure. I touched my body and even pinched myself—everything is real.
“Let us go to the library and look it up, shall we?”
We are now inside of the massive library of Night Raven College. Books float around the library going back into their places. I thought It'll be dark inside but it was well lit.
We came here to find a book or some sort of information about our world.
“Just as I'd suspected. Nothing.”
I expected that before we even came here… I definitely didn't play the game.!
“Not only is your homeland not listed on any map from any point in history.” He closed the book. “Now, are you both QUITE sure you come from such a place? This is not some sort of lie or jape.”
No sir.
“Because if so, the only explanation is that you've come from another planet.’
“Or another universe…” I muttered.
“What was that?”
“Nothing!”
“Or perhaps you both were summoned here from another dimension?”
Yuu eyes widened—their reaction would also be me if I was in this situation where I don't know what would happen.
“Show me everything that you two brought here with you.” He said. “Do you have some form of identification, a driver's license perhaps? Or even a…shoe?”
“Come to think of it, where's my wallet and phone?!”
Don't remind me of something important to me Yuu! Now, I really missed my phone… I still have to do the tasks..
“We are a tad bit…empty-handed, sir.” I said.
“Well, this is quite the predicament.” Crowley said. “I cannot have someone with no aptitude for magic bumbling about my magic academy.”
“And yet, as an educator, I am loath to expel a young person without a cent to their name, or any ability to contact their guardian.”
He thought for a while.
“There is a vacant building on this campus.”
Ramshackle!
My eyes lit up with excitement.
“It was, in fact, used as a dorm a long time ago. With a proper cleaning, it should be habitable enough.”
“I can't wait to clean some spider webs around.” I sarcastically said. “And… dust.”
And ghosts.. Roaming around..
“Out of the profound kindness of my heart, I will allow you to live there for the time being.”
“In the meantime, we will investigate other ways to send you home.”
Which would never happen until Book 100, Chapter 600. Jokingly. Yeah… this is going to take years.
“Dear me, but I am a gracious man indeed! A model educator, one might say.”
I side-eyed him.
Should've added responsibility in your hands.
“I shall take you two to your dorm straight away. It is an older building, but it has plenty of…”
Ghosts?
“character, one might say.”
