She was forced into everything. Or so she thought. A desperate plea for innocence. She swore she said no. Did she? She couldn’t even remember anymore. She could only hope it was a dream. But her hopes were pure lies. Lies on lies on lies on lies. Lies.
She never knew what she did wrong. When she was screamed at or ridiculed, all she could do was wonder why. Why did she deserve this?
“What did you do this time?” Her mother would ask with a scowl.
What did she do this time? It had to have been her fault. She didn’t know what it was.
She couldn’t do anything if she didn’t know anything. So it wasn’t her fault. Wasn’t her fault that her friends would soon leave. Leave her with nothing.
Her father would laugh if he heard how she felt. Her mother would cry, make it about herself. They were both empty to her.
