Chapter Text
Yuji felt more confident because of Nobara’s words. “You really think he’ll say yes?” Yuji asked to see if she was joking. “Itadori. You and Fushiguro are so dense. It’s always been obvious that you two like each other! That's also why Gojo-Sensei always puts you two together on missions!” Nobara said loudly but not loud enough to be heard outside the dorm room which was right next to Megumi’s room. “It was that obvious?!” Yuji’s eyes widened, he didn’t realize his feelings for Megumi were so obvious. “Girl, It was SO obvious.” Nobara rolled her eyes. “But aside from that, when are you going to ask him out?” Nobara asked. “Um… I’m thinking maybe I will ask him out when we plan to hang out today…” Yuji said unsurely. “You better tell me where you two are and what time so I can see it happen from afar!” Nobara said enthusiastically. “Okay…” Yuji replied. Ugh, I can’t believe Itadori is getting a boyfriend before I do! Nobara thought to herself. “I’m gonna go shopping now. Text me before you go ask Fushiguro to be your boyfriend!” Nobara said and walked out the room. “See you, Kugisaki.” Yuji waved and just stared at the flowers on the table.
12:00 PM
Megumi was taking a walk around the park when he saw someone familiar. It was Hana Kurusu. Megumi hadn’t seen her since he was younger. He didn’t feel like talking to her so he walked the other way. Hana noticed him and ran over to him “Megumi! Is that you?!” Hana’s voice was loud, excited and annoying. Megumi really didn’t want to talk to her. “Oh. Hello Hana.” Megumi tried to sound polite. “Megumi!! I haven’t seen you in sooooooooo long!!! I finally get to see you again!! You still look just as handsome!!” Hana attempted to flirt with Megumi, Megumi felt uncomfortable with Hana flirting with him especially since there was someone he already liked. “Um… yeah… thanks I guess…” Megumi continued to try to sound polite but god was it hard. “Soo… Megumi… Can we… Go on a date together?!” Hana asked loudly. “... Um. Sorry… There's someone else I like… please don’t flirt with me anymore…” Megumi replied uneasily. “But—” Hana was about to speak but Megumi interrupted her “I said stop.” Megumi said sternly. “Then.. Then at least tell me who you like so I can be your type eventually!” Hana demanded. “You wouldn’t know him.” Megumi replied and turned away. Hana didn’t go after him. She knew she didn’t have a chance anymore.
Megumi went back to Jujutsu High since he didn’t want to be out after having to deal with Hana since she got on his nerves, and he just wanted to take a nap to forget about what happened. When he saw Yuji leaving his dorm room, holding something behind his back, Megumi was curious about what Yuji was hiding since usually he wouldn’t hide stuff. “Hey Itadori. What's that behind your back?” Megumi asked calmly. “I—uh… Don’t worry about it!” Yuji said while slowly backing away to his dorm which Megumi thought was odd.
About 2 hours later, Yuji texted Megumi to ask if they could meet at the park. Megumi replied with yeah. Yuji was so excited yet so nervous at the same time. He was going to confess to the one person he loves the most but what if he says no? As Yuji walked to the park, he was debating on turning back but he knew he couldn’t just back out of this. As he got closer, he saw Megumi sitting on a bench. He was playing on his phone. Yuji suddenly remembered that he forgot to tell Nobara that he was about to confess to Megumi. He quickly texted her and Nobara somehow got there faster than light. She hid behind a tree from afar to watch what would happen. Yuji walked up to Megumi, his hands behind his back as he held the bouquet of flowers. “Ah.. Hey Fushiguro…” Yuji’s voice sounded shaky. Megumi just waved at him and patted the spot next to him to get Yuji to sit next to him. Yuji didn’t move. “Um… Fushiguro…Y’know… Um… I’ve liked you for a while and um I wanna know if you’ll go out with me and be my boyfriend...” Yuji held out the bouquet of flowers and blushed, his face was bright red, meanwhile behind a tree… Nobara was recording the whole thing. Megumi’s eyes widened. He didn’t know how to respond. What if it’s a prank? What if he actually doesn’t mean it? Megumi thought. He tried to speak but no words came out of his mouth. He was so embarrassed and just took off running, hoping that Yuji wouldn’t follow behind him. Nobara stopped recording and slowly walked over to Yuji. “Did… that just happen?” Nobara asked as if she was unsure that Megumi just ran off. “Um… Yeah… Do you think that I ruined our friendship…?” Yuji tried to ask calmly but his voice sounded strained like he was holding back tears. “I’m sure he’d still want to be friends with you, Itadori… I just think he needs some time to think about it y’know…” Nobara tried to reassure him but she wasn’t even very sure about the last part. “I think we should… head back to Jujutsu High…” Yuji said quietly. “Hey, Itadori, How about we go and get some ice cream instead?” Nobara tried to offer Yuji something to cheer him up and take his mind off of how Megumi reacted. Normally she wouldn’t do something like this but… this was different. “Ice cream?!” Yuji’s face instantly lit up as if he was never sad at all. “Yeah, I’ll get you ice cream.” Nobara replied. The two of them walked to the ice cream shop, Yuji was jumping around from excitement as they walked, Nobara found it quite annoying but she didn’t say anything about it. Once they got to the ice cream shop, Nobara realized she forgot her wallet in her dorm room. “Ah crap—Um so Itadori… I kind of… forgot my wallet in my room… um… Do you think we could do this later…?” Nobara asked. “Oh, sure I guess…” Yuji sounded disappointed, I mean—Who wouldn’t be disappointed over the fact that you can’t get ice cream because someone forgot their wallet.
Back at Jujutsu High, Megumi was going to his room to lock himself away from everyone so he could think about what happened at the park, but he was stopped by Gojo. “Hmm, Where are you going, Megumi? Aren’t you supposed to be hanging out with Yuji?” Gojo asked with suspicion, Megumi just looked up at him for a moment before looking away, it was obvious that he was about to just tell him a lie, Megumi never looked Gojo in the eyes whenever he lied to him. “Um, Itadori realized he had something… to do so he um… just left me… at the park… so… I uh… just wanted to um… come back here…” Megumi kept stuttering which made his lie even more hard to believe. “Megumi, are you sure you’re telling me the truth? I may act like an idiot but I'm not stupid enough to not catch onto your lie.” Gojo said sternly, He couldn’t believe Megumi thought he was stupid enough to believe him. “I—uh… I’m not lying…” Megumi still tried to act like he was being truthful, there honestly was no point in lying anymore since Gojo already saw through his lie. “Hmm… Well if you’re not lying… I’ll just call Yuji for confirmation!” Gojo spoke in a cheerful voice while grabbing his phone out of his pocket and dialing Yuji’s number. Megumi’s eyes widened, Ah. I’m so screwed. Megumi thought to himself. He looked around for the nearest exit, there was only one, and that was to run back outside, but Gojo would be faster and catch up to him so he didn’t even try to run away. After a few moments of the phone ringing, Yuji answered the phone. Gojo put it on speakerphone so Megumi could hear what Yuji says as well. “Hey Sensei, What do you need? You don’t usually call unless it's an emergency.” Yuji’s voice kept glitching out on the call because Yuji was in an area where they don’t really get much cellphone service. “Hmm, Well I'm with Megumi and he’s saying you had other things to do so you left him at the park, Obviously I don’t believe him for a second so mind telling me if what he’s saying is true or not?” Gojo said in a calm tone. “I don’t have much to say other than that he’s lying about that…” Yuji’s voice immediately changed tone as he spoke. After he said that he quickly hung up as if he was about to be late for something. “So Megumi, Do you wanna tell me what actually happened? I’m not letting you lock yourself in your room until you tell me.” Gojo’s voice sounded way too calm for this situation, it made Megumi even more nervous. “Well um… Itadori asked me out… And I didn’t know how to respond to it… And I didn’t know if it was a prank or not so I just… ran off because I was scared he really didn’t mean it…” Megumi said quietly, he was staring at the floor, even though Megumi only really does that when he lies, Gojo could tell that he was telling the truth. “Is that really all it was? You know you don’t have to hide stuff from me, Megumi. I’ll talk to Yuji about it later, unless you don’t want me to of course.” Gojo said calmly. “... I'd rather you not tell Itadori about it…” Megumi mumbled. “I still don’t want you to lock yourself in your room, Megumi. So instead, you're coming with me!!” Gojo got really excited about taking Megumi somewhere, it really ticked Megumi off since he just wanted to be alone for a little bit without having to be near the most annoying and loud person in the room bugging him about something more random than switching the subject from a serious conversation to something stupid. “Do I REALLY have to go with you?” Megumi complained. “Yes. I’m not even going to take you outside, don’t worry! We’re just going to go hang out with Shoko for a little bit.” Gojo said. Megumi was relieved they weren’t going out too far. The two of them walked to the room where Shoko was. She was busy with something yet Gojo still wanted to talk to her. “Hey Shokoooo!” Gojo waved and spoke loudly, Gosh he’s so annoying. Megumi thought to himself. “What do you need, Gojo? I’m busy right now.” Shoko turned to face Gojo. She was already annoyed at him showing up while she’s busy, she knew Gojo was just going to talk about something stupid to her but she HAD to listen so he could go away faster. “Hm, Well, I wanted to talk to you about something but it seems you’re busy… Well in that case! I’m just gonna leave Megumi with you for a little while!” Gojo said and walked out of the room. Why does he always have to leave the kids with me? Well, at least it's just Megumi, he doesn’t talk to me much so I should be able to still get my work done. Shoko thought to herself. “Hey Megumi.” Shoko greeted him politely. “Hi Mrs. Ieiri.” Megumi said. “Megumi, You don’t have to be formal with me.” Shoko commented. Megumi just nodded and sat down in a chair. “So Megumi, Why’d Gojo drop you off here?” Shoko asked. “He didn’t want me locking myself in my room again.” Megumi said calmly. “You do that a lot, don’t you? Gojo tells me about how you guys are doing, he’s really worried about you.” Shoko said. “I don’t do it that much. I only do it when I want to be alone.” Megumi answered. “So pretty much everyday?” Shoko said jokingly.
