5 months has passed.
The weather today is very cold.
Dark walking through the streets heading to their workplace. Until a flyers flies onto their face. They took the flyers off their face.
'Ugh.. What's up with all these flyers... They're like everywhere'
They take a look at the flyers.
'The Freak Circus Of Horror '
"Hey! Get out of there weirdos! "
A loud noise of a man caught Dark attention, they head turn to see the commotion.
"Ever since you guys showed up, people have been Dissapearing! Go back to whatever hell hole you crawled out of! "
Dark sees three person, the first one looks like a jester with mostly red and black color palette was on the ground while picking up the scattering flyers ignoring the screaming man, the second looks like the same as the other one but is pink and black who also seem to be picking up the flyers.
"I'm talking to you, you freak! Get out of our town!! "
Dark intent to just ignore them and walk away, but for some reason they decided to intervene.
"Hey you, cut it out! You're making a lot of fuzz over a little circus attractions. "
"You're making a fool of yourself, they're just doing their job. "
Dark voice were firm as they defended them.
"Working for the devil, maybe. " The man responded his voice loud and harsh.
"Well at least they have a job not like you, what do you even do? " Dark gave the man a mocking smile
"Hey! I have a job!! And you you're also working for them aren't you? You're lucky that you're pretty little thing, if not maybe you'll end up like them! " the man smirk at Dark
Dark smile immediately faded, they grip their hand their eyes twitched.
'I want to blow this guy head off'
"Oh well you see, this pretty little thing you see over here" Dark step slowly toward the man voice darkened
"Will make sure you won't opens your eyes again if you mess with them.. " Their hand slowly creeping towards the man cheeks then their claws extended slicing the man cheeks drawing a blood on it.
The man shock in pain as he push Dark away, putting a safe distance between him and Dark.
"Ow! What the fuck! " the man shouted wipping his blooded cheeks.
"What is wrong with you! "
"Leave Now. " Their voice commanding and Firm, leaving no word for Argument.
"Uggh! Whatever!! " The man left them.
Dark sigh as they turn around and saw The two Jesters like, who's now already on their feet. Both of them look at Dark with adoration. But Dark wasn't interested in these whole circus stuff, they immediately left the scene as they continues heading to the cafe.
The bell above the door rings as they saw their boss serving some drinks to a customer, and after that thier boss noticed dark and approach them.
"Dark you got here just in time. It's busier than usual with the cold"
"Start as soon as you can, Carol's running late i've been covering for her. "
"The orders are already on the counter, please take them to the tables"
"She not usually this late, is she's okay? "
"I couldn't reach her, maybe she's not feeling well"
Dark nods at their boss and immediately go ahead to take the drinks to the tables.
"Here's your coffee with bread and cappuccino with brownies "
"Ah! Thanks"
"Hey barista, did you see the news? "
"No I haven't seen the news, what's up? "
"They're still talking about that one who Dissapered"
"Isn't that the one who ran off with a lovers? "
"No one really knows for sure! "
"I just want to make sure, be careful when you're leaving late, okay? "
"This place closes quite late, so stay alert, alright? "
Dak nods at them
"Okay, enjoy your coffee.. "
Then Dark heads up to The other tables. As they serve the hot chocolate, they could see two silhouette stood in the windows, Looking at them. Dark ignored the silhouette, they focus on the customer instead.
"Here's your hot chocolate sir"
"Thanks! I've craving something warm with this chilly weather. "
"Your welcome "
Dark head to the last table. They still feels like they're being watched.
"Here's your espresso and macchiato, would you like anything else? "
"Thanks, I was dying for some coffee! "
"Did you see those flyers for the circus? "
"Yeah, weird, right? It's been ages sinces a travelling circus came to town. "
"And the clowns are so creepy.. "
"Probably good for their marketing though.. "
"Oh, sorry yeah! We're all set, we don't need anything else right now. "
"Alright, call me if you need anything. "
Dark arrange the trays neatly before heading back to the next table. Noticing their boss was ripping off the flyers who was attached to the windows.
"Tsk! I'm sick of ripping those flyers off my windows, don't let anyone hand then out in here. "
"And when you have a minute, go around and pick up the one scattering around. "
"Alright! "
As the customer leave one by one, Dark goes ahead to pick up those flyers on the tables.
'These people be throwing all the flyers in here, that's just give me more work to do... Ughh so annoying '
After picking up the last flyers, Dark heard the bell rang their head turn to the voice.
"Welcome! "
"Thanks! I'd like a strong, hot coffee. "
"Coming right up! "
After a couple of minutes
"Here's your coffee"
"Thanks, it's really cold outside"
"Whats with the flyers? "
"This? Someone was handing them out, so I have to pick them all up"
"How rude to do that in a place of business, right? "
"Of course, it's made extra work for someone.
'And that someone is me'
" if you want, I can take them for you, I'll toss them out when I leave no big deal. "
"I was gathering some papers for recycling anyway. "
"Oh? Alright thank you, better than throwing them. "
"No problem dear"
"Would you like anythi-"
"Do you like the circus? "
"Not really, I never been to one, but I don't think i would be interested in going there anyway especially if they're for kids. "
"Well, this circus isn't for kids, the've got some pretty creepy stuff. "
"You've been in there? "
"Yes, I've been there before. "
"Anyway here take this"
The man hand me a grey Ticket
"Go on check it out, and then try telling me it didn't give you chills. "
"Thank you, I might try out one day"
"I'll be glad to know that someone used my ticket"
"Thanks for your time, I'll let you get back to work. "
"Call me if you need anything. "
Dark head away to the counter to sees their boss standing behind them.
"As soon as the last customers leave, close everything up and clean the place. We're closing early today. "
"Okay, did something happen? "
"I have an unexpected appointment. And since you're working alone today. I'do rather you didn't leave too late. "
"I've gotta go now, can you take care everything? "
"Of course I can!, everything will be done in no time. "
"Call me if anything comes up"
"Okay! See ya"
Their boss left the cafe leaving Dark alone with the last customer.
'Nice! Boss busy, shorter work. Welp better start cleaning, if I wanna go home quickly '
'Maybe I should check out Carol after this.. '
"Hey there, here's the payment, I'm heading out."
"have a good night"
"Good night sir. "
Dark watchs as the last customer head out. Turning their head, they start to cleaning the table, until they heard a door creaks open. They ignore it gaze still fixated on cleaning the table.
"Sorry! We're closing. "
suddenly the light went out.
"Who's there! "
Dark turns around and and sees no one.
"Huh, I thought I heard something.. "
They head up to the breaker.
"Damn it, is this thing broken or something, it's always happens everytime! "
They open the panel and reset the breaker, They turn around to see two jester like in front of them, not close but not far either.
'Oh it's them, Should've lock the door first.. '
"Sorry Buddy, we're closed! Come back tomorrow "
Dark just noticed that the red black jester like is bleeding from their forehead, and the pink black one has bruise on her cheeks.
'How in the- whatever'
The pink black jester like opens her mouth to say a word
"I'm sorry but can w-"
Then her word got cut off by Dark
"Sit down, I'll help you with that "
Both jesters look at each other and smile widely, before they sat on the chair. Waiting patiently.
Dark approach them and treat their wound/bruises.
"There we go! Clean and shiny. "
The pink one bowed down politely to Dark, smiling happily as a light pink blush rising to her cheeks, The red one also did the same.
"Thank you, my lady"
"Thank you, my dear"
Both said at the same time.
"Save your thanks, what's up with these people beating you guys? "
The pink one sigh, her smile faded as she put on a sad expression.
"The folks doesn't like us because of the missing people rumors after our arrival... "
"That's unfortunate isn't it? "
"Yes, although we might have to clear up these misunderstanding my dear" the red on says
"Mhm, I think I understand. Anyways are you guys like a jester or something?. "
"No my dear, I'm the Pierrot"
"And I'm the Columbina my lady"
'Is that supposed to be what they are or their name? Also they don't even look like Pierrot or Columbina. '
"Nice to meet you both, I'm Dark"
'It's not nice to meet you, I wish I could go home right now instead of talking to a bunch of clowns!'
"We know.. "
"Hm? Anyways get out! I'm closing the cafe or I'll lock you inside instead! "
"My apologize my dear, we didn't know you're closing. "
"Before we go, we got a gift for you my lady. A small token of appreciation from us. "
Pierrot hand Dark a Red ticket.
'Good thing I already have a ticket. '
"Thanks, I guess? But fortunately I already have a ticket" Dark said proudly
Columbina and Pierrot look at each other for a second and look back at Dark.
"May we take a look at the ticket my lady? "
"Yea sure"
Dark took out the grey ticket out off his pocket.
Both Pierrot and Columbina stare at them with a panicked expression on their face.
"Ah- my dear, the ticket you're having is actually unusable. "
"Unusable? You mean it's fake? "
"Indeed my lady, but it's okay we could trade your fake ticket for the real one. "
"Alright. "
"Okay, since you're already giving sumthin now get out. Come back tomorrow or whatever and I'll appreciate it if you buy something. "
"We sure will come back tomorrow my lady"
"We hope you to have a good night my dear"
As soon as Columbina and Pierrot left Dark immediately lock the door. As they continue to clean the tables and prepared to leave.
On their way back home, they make sure to give Carol a visit.
Standing outside her doorstep, Dark knock on the door.
"Hey calor, open your damn door it's me! "
...
'No answer.. '
'Should I just break in? '
'No that will cause some trouble, maybe she's really sick I should leave her alone'
Dark turn around to head home
Back at the apartement Dark immediately go to their room and lay on the bed as their little spiders crawling toward them.
"Hey little one, did you miss me? "
One of them rub it's head onto Dark and make a sound of similar like a purr but more robotic. Dark look at it confused.
'How the-? Whatever'
"Hah.. Now I could finally rest"
They close their eyes as their mind drifts to sleep.
While knowing or not knowing that there a silhouette of the same clowns they had met at the cafe. Outside their balcony, watching them drifts to sleep....
